I personally think this palette looks beautiful and very wearable. I know people are saying they want colourful palettes from her, but the holiday palette from last year was colourful and is still on sale for 50% off. You can't blame the brand for producing what sells.
ppl asking for colorful 10pan palettes with special shades, like it was at the very beginning, not those big ones, where are ordinary mattes and shimmers. Too bright, too big. She could've done wearable version of greens and neutral, what is popular this summer and it would be a super hit, like Natasha Denona Yucca palette is.

I Agree! and tbh I considered buying this one because I'd probably get use out of it. Being pale, the mattes are always too deep for me so I only use them occasionally. That being said, I'll probably pass due to the high cost and that I have what I need already.
I agree. I hated that big colorful ass palette. It didn’t fit the brands aesthetic at all. While I’d like a little more color and exciting color stories, I’m all set with the clown color/combinations.
I wish she would do a green and neutral pallet . I think she has way too many pink pallets and now she doesn't have the special baked shade and she is charging the same amount, it kinda loses its luster when u can't get the mothership with the special baked shades that are more expensive to make but yet she dropped them and is charging the same amount. I'm not that into it for the money but I'm glad u like it .
@@simplyblair yes I would jump on that release.. lol Did u see that Sigma was releasing quads on the 15th and they have this green and neutral one that is ready pretty it's called candied or sour apple not sure , I forgot the name they have a pretty neutral one too but I guess their will be more but haven't seen those . I saw the green and the neutral one on Heather Austains Latte makeup look and I was like yes I need those .. lol and I thought of you also .

Totally agree with you! I completely understand that people who collect these are disappointed that they are similar; however, I would imagine that the average consumer does not collect them all/ maybe doesn’t collect eyeshadow at all so might not be looking for super colorful/ unique palettes. Personally I only wear neutral eyeshadows and I really don’t buy palettes often, so this kind of “boring / repetitive” palette is actually what interests me! But could see both sides!

I think personally as a Pat McGrath fan who was disappointed by this release it’s not that I would want a colourful palette - I never wear those myself. I would have LOVED another type of neutral like cool tones (ie glam by Natasha denona) or warm browns… just anything but pink because it’s so repetitive. Natashe denona seems to be able to produce different types of neutrals and is still thriving so it must be possible!
I agree with you but I have heutopian dream and moonlit seduction, and I can create similar looks!! Also Pat has divine rose1, 2, heutopian dream and moonlit seduction that are almost in the same color family! I am collecting her older palettes now because I am not impressed with more pink options! I am not even that disappointed with the palette; but with how her team handled constructive criticism- they blocked the people, deleted comments. Guess its time to move on to Natasha denona, as she is bringing more colorful stories. Nonetheless these colors look so pretty on you 😍♥️

But I do think to differentiate this palette more from their previous ones, they could do a way more neutral one with warm and cool neutrals and blitz astral shades or add a pop of a subtle olive or sage green or grey ish purple instead of pink… your eye looks are always pretty
I think it was interesting that they launched at Ulta at this launch point too! I have 8 Motherships, and I have 150+ eyeshadow palettes, I have collected all ABH palettes from the very beginning, I’ll prob end up getting this one too, the completionist in me will make me buy it. I am so happy for Ulta growing with my high-end brands, bc their point system can’t be beat!

I really love the look you did. I did the same look but used the purple special shade on the inner third and it was pretty. The lavender is more mid tone than pastel making it more unique in my collection. I've also used both of the lighter mattes as blush and was surprised at how pretty they were and long lasting.
O m g, I am obsessed with this color story! I have only 1 PM palette, but this one would fit my looks so much more! I specifically am excited most for crimson blitz and copper dawn! Also, hypnotic bronze, Astral pink (reminds me of why I love Too Faced) , and Sienna Mystique. Thank you so much for switching these, Blair! Pink toned shadows are probably my favorite on me. (Maybe I’m an Ulta person although I shop more at Sephora!) But I have collected a number of beautiful palettes that have a great variety of pink and pinky brown shades, so I decided a while back that I need to stop getting them. Your eye look today is beautiful! I actually don’t have anything from PM, and so far haven’t found a compelling reason to spend that much money when I can get what I want for much less.

I refuse to buy palettes with that one random red/reddish shade because ever since the reddish pink in Modern Renaissance (ABH) I learned that the one colour gives me the heebie jeebies and I never pick it up to use it. Same with the reddish brown in the Viseart neutrals palette. I have a problem hahahah BUT I think I should just somehow remove those shades so I use the palettes! I'm so glad I'm not the only one!!!
I just feel like it wasn’t a best business decision to create a pallets that not only is similar to existing pallets but also very similar to what other brands have. CT, Mario, Dior, Huda are some that I can already think of off the top of my head. Hope the sales this time won’t be as good so they decide to not do pinks as much anymore.

Wow! Stunning. Agreed it’s a beautiful palette. One of my favorite eye looks to date. I’m still considering it. I’m not a huge rosey/ pink fan so that’s my hesitation. I love voyeristic vixen. My favorite quad to date. Agreed I thought of the Patrick Ta rosey palette which I do not use😮Beautiful I just don’t gravitate towards it for everyday.
As someone who has all the Motherships and a lot of her other shadows in quads etc. it’s not that we want “colorful” shadows. We would just like a different color story. The repetition of ALL the same tones of pinks and rose tones that are overlapped in her portfolio is almost maddening 😂. At this point a truly neutral Mothership with NO pink would be welcomed 😂. But basically we don’t have to buy everything so yeah… won’t be buying this. As for those who don’t own many Pat products, one gets to pick and choose which Pink palette they want haha.
I admire your logical analysis. I love watching TH-camrs doing makeup. But when it comes to everyday use, YES, I'd buy this palette and I did. I am satisfied with the colors and their quality. Even though I do have collected most of the mothership palette, the most usable ones to me is still the 7th and 11th...more to everyday people like me. ❤❤❤
Sienna mystique is a beautiful shade. Pairing with the light copper shimmer would be beautiful. Sienna mystique could be your transition color if you just buff on very lightly and then build up the true shade in the outter crease, And outer corner. Use your finger to apply the shimmer on the lid and you’re done … absolutely beautiful without being too much. I think it’s a perfect combo to go out to dinner. Skip the dark liner especially for the summer…. Really pretty.

I may be in the minority but this is the first mothership I am seriously considering investing in! Love each shade but the one reddish special shade. I have been patiently waiting for a more rosy bronze-leaning neutral palette! I mean, its truly a neutral lovers' palette!
I am amazed that people still buy big eyeshadow palettes for a huge dollar amount. I recently bought the new Mac neutral eyeshadow palette. I hadn’t purchased a palette bigger that 4 shades in years. I use every color in that palette which is my rule for buying any palette. I wear neutral colors and mostly one and done cream pot shadows. Another favorite pallets of mine is the Smashbox Minimalist pallets. 8 neutral shades 4 cool 4 warm . Perfection.
I love the colors! PML hasn't been able to keep up and evolve the way ND has. Mthrshps aren't worth the $$ anymore. The formula has been surpassed. Hence the site "glitches", cut corners in formula/packaging, constant sales, cash grab collabs. BTW are you going to pick up ND starlette?

I’m the same as you…. NOT a Pat McGrath Mothership collector in any way. I have a few of her pallets, but I just find them harder to work with than other pallets in my collection, and usually what happens is I just don’t have the time to work them properly, so I just don’t use them🤷♀️ I love some of the color story’s, and that’s one thing I do love about them❤ I know people are screaming for more “color” but, I personally like the colors they are already. And personally… I LOVE the pink based pallet!! I think it’s gorgeous💖💗💕❣️
I don’t own any Pat McGrath because I never think her color stories are approachable. This one is a palette that I am interested in; it will be a nice upgrade when I pan my Tartelette Juicy palette (bc I don’t need multiple pink palettes). I also think you’re right about Ulta and Sephora customers.
Lol- as soon as I saw the actual color palette, you were the first person I thought of. I can’t disagree, it’s really pretty. Edit- I consider myself a “make-up fanatic”, but I only shop from Sephora online. I find shopping in store super uncomfortable. I’ll go to an Ulta any day, though- it’s just more of a friendly environment.
I have all of Pat’s motherships except last year’s and I’m not buying this one… I have all of these shades within her other pallets that can pass for each other … I’ve always bought the motherships for the four special shades. What made those last for shade so special is because they are baked into the pallet. Those formulas you cannot get anywhere else at the time. … This pallet if you notice she gave up on the baked formulas and every one of the shadows is a pressed pan. So she went cheaper on this one while raising the price from $125-$128 in the process . I can replicate this pallet with Divine Rose 1 and 2, nobody would know the difference that’s why I’m passing on it but it’s hard for me because as a collector I feel like I just have to buy it and I do really don’t want to even with a 30% off.
So random but your brows are dreamy in this video. As someone who has never gravitated towards any of her motherships bc the color story never made any sense, this is the first one that I might actually want. My biggest turn off is when there’s always a random color thrown in, like a hot orange or teal or green, it’s just not practical for someone like me.

The color story doesn’t bother me at all for this one. What does is the fact that she got rid of her special shades. What even is the point of a mothership if she takes those out, since they were what justified the insane prices they retail for. It’s cute, but not nearly worth what it costs in my opinion
lol the problem is not that she's doing something that she hs never done before - the problem is the exact opposite, that she's doing the same thing again and again and again. I personally don't mind Wearable(TM) or Ulta-appropriate, but must it always be pink though? Are all eyeshadow palettes at Ulta pink??? Are all Ulta customers blue- or green-eyed blondes exclusively on whom pink looks good? Would be a weird store indeed.
I was referring to her earliest mothership palettes, she’s not doing color stories like her originals. Rosy/pink shades look beautiful on all skin tones to me
It's the regurgitation of brown/pink/gold. Hey, make something that appeals to the masses, wearable, that sells, no issue there, but can it be different? Look at ND Biba, Glam, Gold... all wearable, with mass appeal, not trendy, but they aren't alike. They're all very different. Sydney Grace in the indie world, are a wearable brand. A brand that if you are afraid of color, this is for you. However, they manage to "bring color", by making the shades very muted, gray toned, earthy, or just by experimenting with the undertones. So each color story remains safe, very approachable, yet different, with a dash of fun. Every PMG palette looks like a slightly adjusted iteration of the prior ones. I this this is what people are taking issue with, a lack of diversity and creativity. I think of collectors and completionists. They're ending up with at least 6 palettes that look very close to one another at this point. All I am saying is, it can totally be done.

There are no real Blitz Astrals in this one though, only a few youtubers have mentioned that.

I’m the same as you…. NOT a Pat McGrath Mothership collector in any way. I have a few of her pallets, but I just find them harder to work with than other pallets in my collection, and usually what happens is I just don’t have the time to work them properly, so I just don’t use them🤷♀️ I love some of the color story’s, and that’s one thing I do love about them❤ I know people are screaming for more “color” but, I personally like the colors they are already. And personally… I LOVE the pink based pallet!! I think it’s gorgeous💖💗💕❣️
I don’t own any Pat McGrath because I never think her color stories are approachable. This one is a palette that I am interested in; it will be a nice upgrade when I pan my Tartelette Juicy palette (bc I don’t need multiple pink palettes).
I also think you’re right about Ulta and Sephora customers.
Lol- as soon as I saw the actual color palette, you were the first person I thought of. I can’t disagree, it’s really pretty.
Edit- I consider myself a “make-up fanatic”, but I only shop from Sephora online. I find shopping in store super uncomfortable. I’ll go to an Ulta any day, though- it’s just more of a friendly environment.

I have all of Pat’s motherships except last year’s and I’m not buying this one…
I have all of these shades within her other pallets that can pass for each other …
I’ve always bought the motherships for the four special shades. What made those last for shade so special is because they are baked into the pallet. Those formulas you cannot get anywhere else at the time. …
This pallet if you notice she gave up on the baked formulas and every one of the shadows is a pressed pan. So she went cheaper on this one while raising the price from $125-$128 in the process .
I can replicate this pallet with Divine Rose 1 and 2, nobody would know the difference that’s why I’m passing on it but it’s hard for me because as a collector I feel like I just have to buy it and I do really don’t want to even with a 30% off.

As someone who has never gravitated towards any of her motherships bc the color story never made any sense, this is the first one that I might actually want. My biggest turn off is when there’s always a random color thrown in, like a hot orange or teal or green, it’s just not practical for someone like me.
That’s how I feel about some of her other palettes, like Heutopian Dream. It has that really bright coral shade that I know i’d never touch

The color story doesn’t bother me at all for this one. What does is the fact that she got rid of her special shades. What even is the point of a mothership if she takes those out, since they were what justified the insane prices they retail for. It’s cute, but not nearly worth what it costs in my opinion
lol the problem is not that she's doing something that she hs never done before - the problem is the exact opposite, that she's doing the same thing again and again and again. I personally don't mind Wearable(TM) or Ulta-appropriate, but must it always be pink though? Are all eyeshadow palettes at Ulta pink??? Are all Ulta customers blue- or green-eyed blondes exclusively on whom pink looks good? Would be a weird store indeed.
I was referring to her earliest mothership palettes, she’s not doing color stories like her originals. Rosy/pink shades look beautiful on all skin tones to me

It's the regurgitation of brown/pink/gold. Hey, make something that appeals to the masses, wearable, that sells, no issue there, but can it be different? Look at ND Biba, Glam, Gold... all wearable, with mass appeal, not trendy, but they aren't alike. They're all very different. Sydney Grace in the indie world, are a wearable brand. A brand that if you are afraid of color, this is for you. However, they manage to "bring color", by making the shades very muted, gray toned, earthy, or just by experimenting with the undertones. So each color story remains safe, very approachable, yet different, with a dash of fun.
Every PMG palette looks like a slightly adjusted iteration of the prior ones. I this this is what people are taking issue with, a lack of diversity and creativity. I think of collectors and completionists. They're ending up with at least 6 palettes that look very close to one another at this point. All I am saying is, it can totally be done.

I don't mind the colors story. I mean we all have it, but I could live with it again. It's just not special. It's sad. I've repurchased every mothership last year to replenish my kit with all new. I won't be buying this one.
