Reminds me in 2017 when i had major issues with my 90 gallon mixed reef so i purchased a 6 ft long 100 gallon with 2 drains . Emptying the 90 into. 2 40 gln tubs. Mixing the fresh h20 for the 6ft was a week ordeal & did it all by myself. Built the 6ft long stand and designed a 40 breeder sump/ refuguim. Everything was drawn on paper first. You can visit my channel as i did the swap was a major project. This company is definitely on point. Happy reefing 😎
Fantastic job! Homeowner should be thankful for your management and execution of the plan ... Any time the word “crane” is used in the conversation, STRESS goes up👍 Saw the palm trees swaying in the video too, yikes!
I figured this episode would be interesting, either because we pull off the job successfully, or because we smash a 3 meter tank... thanks for watching Ben. Cam
Amazing!! My wife nearly vomited when you pulled the wrasse out the sand! I nearly vomited when the new tank swayed back and forth on the crane. Oh and just in case you were wondering, the 2019 influenza vaccines are available at terri white chemists. 👍🏾👍🏾
This sounds like a plug for Terry White Chemists😂 I almost advertised this episode as “vomit-inducing” after reading this comment, but decided against it. Too funny! Cam
Gallery Aquatica TV 🤣🤣 clearly it can’t be a plug as I couldn’t even spell their name properly! 🤣🤣👍🏾 and my for real had to look away from the TV and starting humming a song to try and stop hearing Cam describe what he was doing. 🤣
Man, I almost got a stress induced panic attack just from watching. Very nice idea to skip the half hexagon at the end. All those extra seems are just more vulnerability for the structure :) Nice video!
Great video, it’s a long and arduous process, not just relying on your own team, but the crane 🏗 operators too, good to see part one all went as well as could be expected, well done guys. 👍 Looking forward to part 2, and seeing how it is all put together, to get it all up and running. 🐡🐟🏴
This is so true, I was so glad it went to plan. The hardest part now is getting this aquascape back together, but you’ll see that next Wednesday. Thanks for watching. Cam
impressive 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾... surprised the leak didn't happen at the head panel but glad you /client caught the early warning instead of an immediate failure/blow-out event.
We saw the leak a few weeks before we could do the tank swap. Those weeks were stressful worrying that the tank might let go. There was duct tape holding it together😂 Cam
Good Algorithm. How did it know that I was in replacement mode? OK, not the display but the sump. Hot, wet and cramped work, but neccessary. Sump number one was a temporary with plexiglass baffles that bent and flexed, replaced with new sump with minor water level modifications and all polished glass to avoid slashing my hands. It is quieter now with rigid glass baffles. I was glad to see that the Indonesian rock I placed in the sump is breeding copopods. I took 6 pounds of fresh hoping to give pod life to 100 pounds of bleached rock. Its going to take time but its working. Anyway, it was a big job for one. I sweated enough to fill a small aquarium.
Great video 👍👍👍 not sure about using the old sand. There is probably so much detritus and die off why not use new clean sand? Regardless you probably see a mini cycle. 😊
Been watching quite a few of your videos over the last couple weeks, very fun watch. Gotta say though, 3 meters long is a good long tank but because it's so long it makes the width look so tiny in comparison, think I'd like at least 1 meter wide as well. Either way nice place for the tank to be viewable from 2 sides.
I agree about the dimensions. One improvement we made was to increase the height of the new tank. It definitely looks like better proportions now, but it’s always nice to go wide too. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV I will never go back to thin when I have a tank even as small as 1.2 meters. But I get it, you reused the existing stand so were kind of stuck with that width, and the stand still looked to be in good condition and a nice piece of furniture for the room.
I was given it from Okeanos Aquascaping from New York. It’s seriously one of the best things I’ve ever been given, and if I ever need to replace it I hope I can find one here in Australia. The brand is Milwaukee. Cam
This is interesting. We do it here differently - such size tank I would make (glue it up) right at customers house. Much easer to move pieces of glass then a whole tank. Nevertheless, professional job by Gallery Aquatica.
We considered that. The stairwell is so tight we would have needed to crane the individual panels upstairs anyway, so we figured we might as well crane the whole tank up. Cam
I always get a kick out of you guys working in sandals and barefoot. !! Here in New York this would be a full blown permitted job with work boots and possibly hard hats lol I’d trade New York for Australia in a heart beat!!
Love seeing the practical, problem-solving side of having a very large tank. You’re really good at filling in and explaining the details. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Reefgrrl😊 Cam
Great channel, u guys should have a tv show.
Agreed😂 Cam
I think this is one of the best reefkeeping video series on TH-cam ATM. Right up there with Melevs Reef. Keep up the great videos!

Thanks! I was glad all the planning paid off😊 Cam

That’s a really big job! I can’t wait to see part two!
Bravo !!!
As always such interesting content and so well photographed.
Great work. Definitely have became one of the best reef channels on TH-cam

Very impressive, great job!! What’s going to happen to the end of the cabinet where the hexagon type end was? 🤔
We have a wooden end made to suit. You’ll see more of it in episode 2😊 Cam
Great video 👍👍👍
not sure about using the old sand. There is probably so much detritus and die off why not use new clean sand? Regardless you probably see a mini cycle. 😊
Thanks for watching. New sand might have been a good idea, we were just aiming for the minimum amount of change possible to the system. Cam
Perfect timing. Omg i got new tank filled so afraid.

Ok, where did you get that cutting tool?
I was given it from Okeanos Aquascaping from New York. It’s seriously one of the best things I’ve ever been given, and if I ever need to replace it I hope I can find one here in Australia. The brand is Milwaukee. Cam
@@GalleryAquaticaTV Yeah dude I need one of those, thanks for the response. Milwaukee is a great brand too
And what is in the floor structure to carry all the load from the tank? And temporary tank for that matter?
When the house was built it was engineered to take the tank weight. The temporary pond didn’t fall through thank goodness. Cam
Why you don’t have links to your website or Facebook account?
Good question. We’ll get that sorted. Cam
@Gallery Aquatica how much does a job like this cost?
ive heard its not a good idea to use old sand but great job
It’s fine as long as it’s well rinsed in water from the tank. Cam
Did u see any coral die off after tank swap?
Where is the second parti , please ???
On its way. I’m expecting it to go up next Wednesday. Cam
What’s the name of that PVC cutter tool?
Hi Tony, it was given to me so I don’t actually know it’s proper name, however it is Milwaukie brand. Cam
This is interesting. We do it here differently - such size tank I would make (glue it up) right at customers house. Much easer to move pieces of glass then a whole tank. Nevertheless, professional job by Gallery Aquatica.

Hi new supporter here seen you on Reef Builders Comics figured I'd stop by and say 💦hello💦
Hello! Thanks for watching 😊 Cam
muito top
I did this with my 10 year old tank and it re started, I had to go through the diatoms nightmare faze again
We’ve been pretty lucky so far, there doesn’t really seem to be too much disruption to the biological stability. Cam
Seems like a waste if the old tank is just being tossed out. It can almost certainly be repaired.
Yeah, I’m thinking of advertising it for free to anyone who wants it. At least that saves me the effort of disposal. Cam
First!
