The thirst for technology is simply the staple of the human condition, its foolish to worry about a threat to an industry and its workforce as a result of a prolific infusion of tech into it, because newer and better industries will always fill the gap left. No one bemoans the loss of paper boys 'or the landline telephone, low skill labor industries will vanish but that's a good thing.
The most important factor in job displacement is not skill, but the amount of routine involved. Job displacement should in theory be offset by more demand (like during the industrial revolution), but the trend shows instead a "polarisation" of jobs due to automation and offshoring, regardless of skill: www.stlouisfed.org/on-the-economy/2016/january/jobs-involving-routine-tasks-arent-growing Mantaining overall welfare and social stability under these conditions is not trivial at all. There's a paper dealing with these issues, if you're interested: www.nber.org/papers/w24174
Once personal machines surpass the 14 Peta Flop range then Robot Autonomy and personal AI will be very much more human like in terms of interface depending how well future nanotechnology can deal with the silicone 5ghz barrier will determine how long before we get Peta bots.
I don't want to talk to a fucking robot no matter how nerdy I am. It's just pathetic. An AI should be used to do the work that human doesn't want to do (dangerous, boring, or takes too long of training). Stop making humanoid of some kind and just focus on assisting the existing jobs and make it better with AI. Again, no one with a sane mind in this world wants to talk to a boring robot.
the wicked witch tempted the children with a candy apple so shiny and red. Yes, they would have one, of course they would, what child would pass it up ? But when the children ate the apple, suddenly they were under the spell of the wicked witch who made only as many poisoned candy apples as there were children.
why is people worried n about loosing their jobs, if jobs stops cos of machines that means, there is no need to work ,as machines can fulfill all our needs
the electronic secretary is not far away when you make a phone call you will not be able to tell you are talking to a machine the alexa is still kinda stupid it acts like a 6 y o it sometimes does not understand not enough datta
we should be looking for a solution to employ more people not replace people with robots... the problem with our " modern society " is that we are all about maximizing efficiency i.e profits. making a lot of money at the expense of poor people who are willing to work for their living. How would it hurt the rich corporate owners to hire more people and give higher pays and reduce their personal profits... the money we horde in our savings accounts belong to the people and should be spent and not saved. the less money saved in the banks the more money in circulation, what that basically means is that everyone will have money and earning money can be easy. sometimes I feel we aren't that different from the robots we creat.. cold, heartless and lack empathy and reason.
10:46 is when I had to LOL :-D
prepare to be stunned!
shes naive
2:00 why not build the mic in the bot ?
i didn't see an automated factory, but I did see a warehouse with lots of robot pallet movers.

Very, very insightful.
if a robot or ai can do everything we can do better then they will do everything...

In future when many jobs will be lost to AI and robots then there would be nothing left to do. It would be matrix and mad max rolled into one.

Why do robot needs a pair of eyes?
For the same reason many animals have 2 eyes. You included.
This is my question robots are not human??
That is correct. They are not.
Dogs and cats are not human either. They have 2 eyes.
No! Sacking this Joke of a government and reinvesting in the NHS will save the NHS!
