Kinda dumb question: when you say range of 350 miles, does that mean it can fly 350 miles straight and done.....or 350 and then return? I don't why it has always confused me. I think from watching WW2 documentaries about the fight plane ranges including the ability to return to base.
That’s not a dumb question. In this case 350 mile range means you can cover 350 miles. That could be 350 miles in one direction or 175 miles in one direction then back another 175 miles.
Price tag aside, I just cant get over the "regardless of hours or condition" toss it in the garbage after 12 years. Kind of defeats the argument that it's fuel efficient.

Autopilot in a helicopter is awesome! I fly EMS and have had autopilot in my AS350B3E since 2014. We have the same autopilot/SAS as in that R66

The R-66 is much more affordable then a 500. Maybe start with that one when you get your turbine rating.

We didn’t have any issues during our flights. At least in the case of this R66 hot starts didn’t seem to be an issue.
