    The Dynahead is a very unique truck. I've enjoyed the one I've built quite a lot. I put some small diameter 1.9 tires on and made it look a lot closer to the style of trial truck that Tamiya styled it after. I'm currently running a 15.5 turn brushless motor and the optional 20 tooth pinion. That combo seems to have a good mix of speed, torque, and runtime on a 2s 3300 mAh pack. They are currently selling for $300.80 in the US. I recommend getting one!

    The Dynahead look is based on the European truck trail trucks.. there slow and basically go up and over most things..
    Make a EXO cage for it and it's not far of looks wise

    Great video and comparison. Good to get a good in depth look of this. I assumed it was similar to the Konghead as well. Good to know that its different. Expensive though! WOW!

      Yeah.. for the price difference I'm definitely leaning towards KongHead. I think it'll be more fun for less money. Also the Dynahead doesn't include an ESC that I could see, the KongHead does. KongHead also includes the smoke stacks and gas tanks in 'chrome' that add some nice detail.

      Hey! Yeah you got some nice footage of the new Tamiya stuff coming out soon. I kept the channel names in view so everyone would see the original source. Thanks!

    It would be great if you could order just the portal parts and use them with a Konghead.

    Hi, got mine yesterday ... yes it's pricey, but ... you get 18 "950" ball bearings, and keep in mind that you get 24 of three different metal gears with all the other hardware for the portals and you get the option of choosing 6x6x2 or 6x6x4 all included. OK, at the end of the build you will have a big bunch of surplus parts with no use. But I had to get it, since I love everything with more than two driven axles ...

    I dont understand why are using the 12 what looks like small brass gears in the portals when they could of just used 2 slightly larger gears and ran the stock motor backwards, i was planning on buying a dynahead and running a mild mod motor to get it up to the same speed as the konghead but i dont want to gamble on the durability of those 12 gears.

    I've just brought one of these, and have since brought oil shocks, full bearings and axles from the Konghead to do away with the reduction hubs. With an upgraded motor, 20T pinion and 4WS this will be a fun toy. Hopefully. Over $800NZD tho.

    Just to say, Konghead doesn't inc an ESC either.
    I have one of each and I've pre ordered the Dynahead, it's an even more unique model! 😊

    Thank you for this video. Any idea where to get replacement portals. The website didn't give me too much help as I don't know what the part looks like off the car.

    @Netcruzer RC TECH CARS
    , out of curiosity did you ever get your Granite 4x4 back up and running, I'd seen over on the Arrma forums you had posted on a thread I was watching how you had a similar breakage to one my son and I had, about possibly going the same route as me, and converting to the 3s Blx parts or just replacing the broken components. Anyway, was wondering because I have a couple of spares for the base 4x4 version (91t spur, 2 HD output gears, and the slipper hub). I'm still waiting on a couple of back ordered parts out of the Blx set (I have enough to keep my son's truck running til then as is). Let me know if you're interested, either here or through the forums.

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right now it’s still broken. I plan on converting to BLX slipper, diffs, output gear from a part out shop like Jenny’s RC.

      @@netcruzer NP, just thought I might offer.

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've got it glued together for now but doubt it'll last. If you are local in Ottawa I might buy your extra parts, as the BLX slipper I hesitated to buy is now out of stock.

      @@netcruzer I'm in MI, yeah I know about the parts, it's just that there are so many vehicles out there, it's the double edge sword of running everything off of just a couple of platforms, I believe they are trying to keep up with demand, but their brand has just blown up. Though from my own personal experience the waiting is not completely brutal, between parts being available or out of stock. What about shipping?

    Dynahead is gonna be buildoff 8, we’ll that’s my plan n choice, first I gotta build the comical grasshopper n buggra fat fox n then this one. I just really dig the look to this one.

    • @STEVOD313
      @STEVOD313 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The konghead is around $185 at my hobbyshop, I’m gonna have to email them n see what this price is gonna be, cus guys r paying over $200 after tax for comical grasshopper n I paid $155 out the door, so I’ll have to get a price on this dynahead before I make a decision if I’ll do it in one of the buildoffs

    • @netcruzer
      @netcruzer  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll likely build a konghead when you do the dynahead. That's sort of my plan. Unless... discounts and performance mods become available that are good!

      @STEVOD313 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Netcruzer RC TECH CARS ya that’s what I’m saying, depends on price if I do this one if not the konghead will be my choice, we will see, I’m probably the only guy who’s been wanting the school bus since I’ve seen it 😂 mom was a school bus driver so it’s got a soft spot in my heart 😂

  • @macelius
    @macelius 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does seem like they got things a bit backwards. Definitely looks more like a rally truck but with big wheels. Would be better with a military cab-over, or at least a Kong boddy. The body would also make more sense on a Kong with scale truck wheels.

    To me it looks like some kind of science fiction Mars Rover, and thus I would expect it to go fairly slow.

  • @malelonewolf80
    @malelonewolf80 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    To me the Dynahead looks most like it was inspired from some kind of fictional lunar vehicle, in other words like a fictional vehicle to drive on a moon, or other planets. Perhaps it was inspired from some sci-fi movie.

    Hey not sure if you figured it out yet, but tamiya never sells for the price on thier website.. Here's one from china for 185 US$. Would probably end up being under or around 300 cad with shipping. www.rcmart.com/tamiya-58660-g601tr-dynahead-road-truck-p-81009.html?cPath=420_1264
