Issue: Not connecting/reconnecting to the watch: After sometime it seemed my watch was disconnected from my phone and it wasn't unable to reconnect. I was able to resolve this to make sure my wearable app was up to date and open up wear os app and go thru the process till it asked you if this is a Samsung watch or a android app. Essentially make sure wear os went through the intro.
Update #1: Ive noticed that everytime I close the wear os app via background my watch disconnects. If this happens to you you MUST keep the wear OS running in the background. Sorry Ik how annoying it is.
Issue: Notifications not going to the watch from the phone - Probably not related to this issue/tutorial. Essentially it could be your phone itself like the Vivo phones have a awesome feature that saves battery life. Its like a smart issue. Make sure you have set Max power usage for the smart watches app on your phone. Plugin, Manager and the Wearable app.

I tried this once and must have fumbled it somewhere, but the second time around it worked. It seems it worked for me on Vivo X100 Ultra and Watch7. Absolute legend for posting this video, thank you very much!

I'm glad to be your hero my friend. Hope everything works out too. I was so disappointed too when my watch wouldn't pair. I'm not fond of US phones to say for my own specific things.

@@gronygroovyfrom my research if you get a global ROM/version you should be fine. If it's the Chinese follow this tutorial. Seems like ultra users are able to use this tutorial as well.

Well, I finished it. It wasn't aesthetically pleasing, but it works. It took many attempts, and I had additional steps that aren't mentioned in this tutorial (but very similar), and it's DONE.
Ya I'm sorry you had to go through that. Its just surprising even though we can get this paired with our non-us devices. Samsung gave us the middle finger.

Your a magician, got my galaxy watch ultra working with my Vivo Fold Pro 3, So far so good, not issues in counted. I had tried all different sites but to no avail, can now use my watch with my new phone, thank you.

@@bigup7777 oui so random no but it will feel like it because you have to make sure the wear os app is active and on in the background. you can look at my pinned comments that im currently experiencing with the watch since its not like fully compatible.
Hey thanks a Ton. I have a Samsung Ultra watch and use a Honor Magic 6 pro chinese varient. Your steps work perfectly fine and watch pairs well and works fine. . However when I restart the phone the wearable app disconnects the watch and no longer is linked to the app. i have to again delete all apps and follow your steps. its like as long as i dont restart the phone it works. if i do restart then it gets disconnected from the app and never connects back.. any solution on how to fix this ?
Thats awesome to hear! So from what I understand using my VIVO Phone. When it disconnects again and you cannot reconnect it from the samsung galaxy wearable app. Try this... This is what Ive noticed.
1) Close off the galaxy wearable app completely.
2) Open up the Wear OS App. Then open the samsung wearable app from that Wear OS App.
3) From there try to connect to the galaxy watch.
IF IT WORKS. You must have Wear OS App opened at all times. Thats what I've noticed on mine when i close it. My watch disconnects.
@@DavidMaxSteinbach Thank you for the reply. I did try. however when i open wear os app it starts from setup . any idea ? it does not show my watch there. this happens even when my watch is paired and when its not
@@vidyan6195 like define setup? So the app just completely doesn't see your watch? Ok hmmm try to close out the Samsung wearable app make sure your watch is unpaired from anything. And set your watch to pair and see if your wear os can see ur watch
@@DavidMaxSteinbach i mean when i open wear os it says setup your watch and i dont find the wtach in list . its like it opens from scratch. now the moment i open wear os app the connection in the wearable app disconnects . now i deleted all apps and started from first as you said and paired the watch first on the wearos app downloaded from chinese app market it paired
now when i follow the rest of the steps it just stops half way and says failed to pair on the galaxy wearable app . I tried giving the apps full permission to run in background disabled any battery restrictions no use . it stays the same.

@@DavidMaxSteinbach I must have the plugin buried somewhere in my vivo that is preventing me from pairing it. I have to try and dig around to find it because it asks me to allow the plug in to open

Has anyone had success with a Xiaomi and watch Ultra? Trying to pair on a Mix Fold 4 and can never get it to finish. It messes up either on relaunching after updating the wearable app or after installing the plugin/wearos. Instead of the wearable app re-opening at the next step, it's back to the beginning to select a device. I've tried variations to manually update the wearable app from play store at that spot, preinstall the plug and wear os (tried US and china version), pre-set all permissions.

@@DavidMaxSteinbach First try was your instructions straight up, pairing in the older wearable app. I've tried all kinds of variations since then, but every time the result is the same, just in a different place. At one of the points when the app crashes like your video and I re-open it, I'm at the initial start screen of the wearable app instead of the continuation like your video shows. The things I've tried differently have just pushed this to a different step of the process. For instance, if I let it install the plugin and wearos during the process, the wearable app is on the start screen after the next open. If I manually install those ahead of time to bypass this step in your process, it makes it past that but then is disconnected after the accept the terms screens when it should start the final process.
Ive tried so many times, now when I try and pair using airplane mode it just says check your connection. I know others with my watch are getting this to work, but man I just can't seem to get it to go
ok hol up when you set it to airplane mode is it on your phone? your watch should be on the start up screen.
@@DavidMaxSteinbach yep so it sees my watch, I match the pairing codes and hit ok and then it says please check network connection and try again...phone is in airplane mode at that time

Worked for my CN X100 Pro. Now that I've got android auto and my watch working, I don't regret not getting the international version!

I couldn't get this to work at first but eventually figured it out... If you have google play store installed, remove it first or else it wont work. You can add it back after the watch is pared. Did this on the vivo 3 fold pro cn version.
That is also another way. You don't need to follow this tutorial using the google play store trick.
Thanks a lot dude. I was about to sell my origin os vivo phone, after many unsuccessful tried with another method. Then you video popped up in my feed and it WORKS! Can I buy you a beer? P.S. Notifications work but since a while I cannot reply to them any more. Google wallet doesn't want to transfer cards to the watch either. Any ideas?
@@andreat.5913 which notifications so essentially it's buggy from what I see. My pinned comment has known issues that I've experienced so far.

Hi, after successfully connecting and setting up the galaxy watch ultra with my Chinese mi 10 ultra, it disconnected after 5 min and since then I am not able to reconnect the watch with Samsung wearable, wear OS doesn't support the galaxy watch ultra either so I have no idea how I can reconnect the watch, could you help me please,

Hey thanks for the video. I used another method to get my Sammy watch up and running on my vivo fold 3. What I don't like is I am stuck with all the Samsung Watch faces and none of my custom ones. I suppose Samsung does this on purpose. I'm just not happy with the stock faces. SO, I'll keep my watch on my Sammy phone. I was thinking of using a ONE PLUS 2r global watch on my Vivo. But I heard that has issues as well.....
define custom ones. like photos or custom watch face completely?
@@DavidMaxSteinbach Yeah, watch faces from the play store like MD and S4U. While it's no problem installing these on my Sammy. On my Vivo I get an error message: "watch is not connected"

On the second try I was able to configure it and everything works fine. The only thing I can't do is backup my data. But that is secondary. I thank you for your effort and empathy. I really appreciate your comment it means alot! What really annoys me is how Samsung just doesn't allow us to connect our watch to any "Non Compatible NON US Phones" to say. Going through this process it allows us too that means Samsung just doesn't want us to. I haven't tried the backup process because I was just so tired of tinkering with the watch to connect lol. It is really a big mistake by Samsung, because by doing this, they lose a large number of potential customers who will now think twice before buying a smart watch. It was a pleasure stopping by, keep it up.

great tutorial. i managed to get my watch ultra connected to my vivo x fold 3 pro. i made sure everything could run in the backround including wear os , i opened the wear os app and went as far as i could and allowed permissions. but i cleared all recents on the phone and re opened the wearable app and was disconnected and now wont connect again :(

@@DavidMaxSteinbach Samsung doesn't like us using their watches on Chinese/imported phones. I'm still going to a fold 6 maybe pixel 9 pro xl. It's great we can get it connected on the Vivo but it's still not the most reliable connection. Amazing work though
