Firefly was canceled so that shows like Batwoman could get three seasons.
In retrospect, that might've been a blessing in disguise. At least Firefly didn't survive long enough to be ruined by the woke. Just trying to find the silver lining.
I'm more mad that The Spectacular Spider-Man, a show that's faithful to Spider-Man as a character and a fan-favorite, gets cancelled for two seasons, and yet, Batwoman gets a third season.

I love how no one has a problem with Ryan knowing the serial killer hitman as they 'ran in the same circles'. But then no one had a problem with Kate constantly letting Alice go.

Nailed it. Yes. In a show where Kate and Alice are not only blood related but also know where to find each other, that line of dialogue doesn't get to be uttered like its serious.

Sousabird, wasn't Zsasz actually somewhat based on Jeffrey Dahmer (i.e. They both tended to refer to their victims as "Zombies" in order to dehumanize them)?
@@Adamguy2003 he might have done that at some point, but the only time I saw Zsasz do the zombie thing was in a very different context. Dahmer wanted to basically lobotomized his victims, Zsasz thought people were all in the same nihilistic mindset as him and needed to be "freed" from their zombie-like existence, so same language, but very different outcome.

To clarify for J, Zsasz in the comics is a lot creepier and definitely crazier. One, he’s not an assassin for hire, he’s a serial killer. Two, he enjoys stalking his victims, learning what they do on a daily basis. Three, he keeps tally of all his victims in the form of notched scars all over his body. Four, he reserved a space on his body specifically for Batman. Five, he likes posing his victims in positions reflecting everyday stuff like a dead body posed like they're reading or playing cards. It’s pretty much his M.O. In the Arkham games he was considered one of the more difficult criminals to catch because as a serial killer he had no patterns, he just killed.
Damn Zsasz's back must really hurt from carrying this whole episode by himself...

Also, I get they changed the wig to emphasize her race, but they really shouldn't have drawn attention to it at all tbh. When she has the wig in the comics, its fine because it provides a nice color contrast and gives it a nice feminine flair. Plus, its a comic book, so its just kinda easier to ignore stylistic stuff like that. In live action, you can go "well, she has because the original has it" and kind of leave it at that. Now, she's just wearing a giant impractical wig for no reason other than blackwahmen

Victor Zsasz positively surpriced me. How did they managed to get an actual real actor and not fuck up his dialog? There is some magic accidently happend on BatWAHMEN set.
They corrected their error of having a good character like him by only using him for one episode.
I feel ashamed that I was ready to write off Zsasz showing up as, "Ah, they'll probably make him an overt Nazi, he'll be completely incompetent and simultaneously no fun." What a pleasant thing they have brought us!

I'm not giving the show credit, but the reason why Batwoman wears a wig is SO it can get snatched. It's supposed to be an advantage her enemies THINK they have, but it would come right off. Even if the writers took that into consideration, something tells me they couldn't make the most of the small advantage that could give her.
I'm still waiting for some villians to just be like "Hey, here's what you do, convoluted plan, then, shoot her in the mouth".
Does that reasoning come from the comics? How does it play to her advantage?

I love how the lack of caring extends to the SFX team. That rocket should have exploded against the balcony's door frame, giving Batwoman a lucky escape. But it flies out the window and literally explodes right in her face and she's miraculously not Batsoup.

I admit I really don't wanna see Kate be dead because it's stupid but dragging it on the whole season is going to be a nightmare not in the funny watchable manner. this episode was easily the most boring useless thing somehow when revealing a batwoman villain talked about for many episodes already and with Zsaz.
The real magic is how this show is continuing to go on at all when they have so few viewers

In combination with CW just being trash in general, you get a bunch of trash nobody wants being renewed since it's easier to keep an ongoing production going than it is to start an all new one [new crew, new directors/writers, new cast, new marketing push, etc].
Plus, these are made cheaply. If this were expensive it'd be cancelled already.

I love that new guy, he could finally kill Alice, Mary, and Kate's girlfriend and dad. Seriously, I don't care enough to know the names of some characters.
The reason it was good at the beginning is because that actor was good. He was in daredevil season 1.
This Batwoman reminds me of an irritating, young super hero side-kick in old cartoon shows. The kind that people who don't understand anything about the show demand is added for kids to identify with, but the kids never did. Nobody bought those toys or wanted to be that character.
Or Poochie the Dog. There is more "personality" and "attitude", but it's obnoxious, not cool, and in your face to the point you want to see it return to its home planet and die along the way.
For me it had more of a Kick-Ass vibe. I even found Batwoman scenes somewhat enjoyable here by pretending I'm watching another Kick-Ass sequel.
There are some points where it's kind of charming and others where you're like, "Okay, Scrappy-Doo."

Luke's face when Blackwoman asks for a witty come back is how I feel watching every god damn episode of this show. I'm pretty sure the only reason I am still watching these episodes is out of a strange and demented sense of loyalty to a show I started watching as a joke.
I've stuck with Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and even Supergirl, for several seasons. I feel you.

They’re a season behind on the whole getting used to the batsuit thing.
So in this episode, they reveal that Safiyah trained Alice. I could already tell they were gonna do this. And I guess this is meant to answer how Alice is able to hold her own against Kate and Ryan. But this still begs two questions.
1. Why did it have to take 23 episodes to explain this?
2. If Alice was trained by Safiyah, why did she lose to Mary in episode 12?
Mary had a desk phone and a bed pan. Alice's two major weaknesses.
Also... that last scene with the Joker's painting (in which version was he an artist?) from Kate's phone... are they also implying that the Joker got his skills from Safiyah?
Guy was fucking great in Daredevil. Absolutely cold. I completely understand why he'd be casted as Victor Zsasz.
They’re trying to make Alice the Malcolm Merlyn of this show, yet as Thorias pointed out, between being a prisoner of crazy doctor and creating the Wonderland in Gotham, and setting up her revenge, when and how did she meet this woman from a foreign land, and stay long enough to be an elite fighter capable of beating someone from the bat-family? Are they going to keep this vague like Kate in military school?
Just don't think about it, she was stranded on an island for 5 years. As an Arrow scholar, I can guarantee this justifies her surviving all of the things.

There is something even more ridiculous than the professional photo in this episode. In episode 1 they have a recap of the season finale where the Crows shoot at Batwoman in the stadium showing up on the tv news. BUT it's edited and shot like the actual episode which means that Batwoman season 1 is an in-universe tv show in Batwoman season 2
And the villain in this show played in daredevil, and a contract killer and he’s acting was 10 times better and his fight choreography was way better. Well that because the actor is that good and the writers are way better

Actually, Victor does cut himself every time he kills someone, to leave a new mark/tally for every victim, so that's accurate. But his belief is that he has to kill everyone, then himself.
Victor Zsasz in this show is pretty accurate to his usual live action interpretations. In the comics he’s a literal serial killer, but ever since the Dark Knight series he’s always been a contract killer/Hitman, usually for the Mob, in live action shows.
Imagine if these people had to deal with the actual Joker.

He does do insane shit like that, but kills with knives almost exclusively in the comics. He's not a hired killer, either. He'll just as quick kill the person hiring him. It's best not to get anywhere near him, tbh.

Victor Saz was so fire in this. I feel like Safiyah is a discount ra's al ghul's daughter. Because they probably couldn't afford using that character. Which honestly would have been better. Im expecting them to ruin black mask in the future as well. Its fun to wartch the train wreack tho XD
