Welcome to my hometown! I worked Derby and Oaks Days at Churchill Downs for several years as a fundraiser for my high school students I taught. Churchill Downs is a special place for sure!
Come to the other end of Kentucky some time! Paducah was built on the river and rail industry and we have a really cool train museum with a simulator as well as a river heritage museum which also has a simulator. Saturday evenings in the summertime are like a quaint street festival downtown every week.
In my OTR trucking days I got to see a lot of Indiana and Kentucky on the back roads instead of all interstate. Two very beautiful states indeed! But, you had bettter keep your eyes peeled for Amish carriages at all hours of day and night, as, the majority of them only have one dim red light on the rear of their carriage. Great video as always, Robert! So glad you got to see your family and spend some time with them! Travel safely, be happy, and, have a blessed day, adios! Howdy Robert, well I can but repeat myself here:very nice and quite entertaining video, excellent views, music and comment....all this emanating from a true artistic mind.Greetings from William in Bruges,Belgium,Europe
Great Video once again !!! When I watch your videos I think of the song "Nobody Does It Better". I think it was from a James Bond film !! You capture it all in HI-Definition !!! My company has a factory in Richmond, KY for over 40 years !!! Did Yuan have "full hookups"? I think not !! ha ha !!!
Wonderful video - It's a beautiful area in Kentucky. I could spend hours in the distillery tours. Those incredible lawns around 1:14 and 20:35 are amazing. And I thought my yard of 50 by 100 feet was a pain to mow every week in the summer.
gooOOOd Morning Robert& to your wife =) you sure do such great video filming and narrating!.. Im impressed 2 thumbs uP Happy travels let the Lord watch & to lead you and to keep you safe while driving =)
Traveling Robert I loathe editing, and it sucks when your footage gets corrupted and the editing software cannot render it. I use corel but I will look to use adobe after effects in the future.

20:00 You're not kiddin'. I wonder how much and what those people do. Our dream home (retirement 10 years away!) is a lower-Keys stilt home with a canal & boat out back. We almost bought one in the early/mid 1990s but decided managing it as a rental was too big a hassle. Financial MISTAKE!!! Values shot up in the late 1990s through early 2000s such that now they're kind of crazy.
Hi Robert, Sorry about that message getting sent in two messages yesterday. I pushed send and I shouldn't have before I finished my message yesterday, hence it being in two parts. I hope you understood what I was sending. It could have been sent in a better format, but I am not very savvy when it comes to computers. I hope you understood the intent. Have a great day and Colin and I are watching and enjoying. We will keep in touch. Bye Carolyn Hogarth
Michigan will probably be next year, when I intend to finish the lower 48 before I turn 48, so maybe I'm saving the best for last. Heard so many great things.
We are planing on going east to Salem Massachusetts from Michigan here taking the trailer. around the 2nd week of September that is when the colors start about the 3rd week, then around the 2nd week of October the colors start going east that is when they have that big thing going on about witches that was the town Salem Massachusetts it originated at.so they have a big thing going on then, look it up,then we will go north to main and Vermont, then over to the Michigan upper Peninsula back down. you will see the good colors around the 3rd week of sept, and they will move east into main around the first wee of Oct,Just type in color map of mich around 1 st of sept, the map will tell you were they are starting and going. hope this has helped you.
Robert since you did not get to see a train in person here is a video by my friend Brandon Townley. Brandon is known for his train photography, all though he has done great photos of other things, including weddings. Hope you and others enjoy. facebook.com/BrandonTProductions/videos/1127505237302280/

We visited Paducah last August when we went to see the solar eclipse, but we didn't stay nearly long enough.
