@@legrandliseurtri7495 I tried hard mode without spend spirit light and use charms. Every time I get on the water phase, I have a heart attack because I can't heal and obviously there is no checkpoint after escaping Kwolok.
Note: If you leave the water as he's going down he will follow you up instead of trying to eat you. Also the tentacle arm things drop health so dash into them when underwater as this will hurt them if your timing is right.
@@RuRu0091 Quick disclaimer, it's been a while since I played this game but I'll try my best. The best way to get more hp is to explore the everything, go down every side passage and at least try every platforming challenge. Now some of the hp found in the Luma Pools need movement skills found in other areas iIrc so try not to get too frustrated. If you can't find enough hp in the Luma Pools or are getting frustrated you can leave and explore other areas before coming back to try again. If you want there are guides on steam and the 100% map by Demajen has all the collectibles on it although it doesn't tell you how to get them. Hope this helps. Edit: You can also go do something else and come back later. Bair's Reach doesn't have a boss fight and does have a ability that could be helpful.
@@RuRu0091 I hope you managed to beat him but for others: be sure to regenerate as much as possible before entering the water part. Once you get used to the attacks under water then it's doable with the health even when you don't have as much as in this vid. The tip above (damaging the arms) let's you restore some also.
The size differences, the fact that you can't replenish health after 1/2 health-bar down, and that Kwolok sometimes dodges your attacks makes this fight tough. Took me longer to beat than the spider, and all the escape sequences.
Make sure to bash back his fireballls. Use the hammer when close. Buy the breathe under water skill. Bash the tentacles when under water for extra health. When hes trying to suck you in his mouth, stay as far away as possible to the other side while dashing. Bash his missiles things back at him. I found him pretty easy only took a few tries.
If you don't have any of the upgrades from Opher, my best advice is to bash the yellow projectiles back at him (throw them higher than you think as they land in an arch). Try to attack best you can, but there's barely any time as you have to focus on dodging, just wait until he starts spitting the yellow projectiles again. Also try staying on the ground as much as you can as it's harder to dodge his attacks when on the wall (especially if you have Sticky equipped)

This fight took me, what, 10 tries at least? I'm watching this cause I felt like I missed some hidden tactic against this boss, but nope, he's really meant to be that hard. I loved it, I hope the other three light things are also protected by a boss(the luma pools were my pick for the first light:D).
Yeah, what you can do is get all the abilities and then go for the bosses, which is what I did, so I basically did eyes and heart and swim dash in 1 hour
The thing I despise the most about the Ori games are the difficult platforming sections it throws at you. I wanted to die in BF, but now they’re throwing BOSSES AFTER? CHRIST. I HAVENT beaten this guy yet, and I’m scared for what’s to come…
I had played this years ago, this boss was as tough as i thought it'd be, tho when i did a second run, i defeated the boss easily with the triple bow and arrow, plus the quick fire skill, it was rather easy with those tbh bc u can quickly deplete the HP of any boss while u mainly focus on dodging their attacks, except for Shriek of course
To fight a corrupted friend in a game is one of the hardest amd saddest decisiions one has to ever make and so was this fight I was shocked by its presentation(but which was well made) and felt so guilty about the Toad's lethal wounds in the end I fought this boss from the upper left side clinging on the wall and smashed it with the ghostly hammer-like skill At this point I didn't have under water breath so I avoided to fall down and tried to just hit the foe abice the Toad's head but you can't selectively hit either of them to prevent Kwolok's body from deadly wounds Very sad moment in mygaming history Greetings from Germany
I think the timing of Kwolok in the part around 1:00 changed between the current version (on steam) and the one used to capture this video. There much less time, and the only way I got through this part was by going under the rock before it falls. Anyway, I can't get through the rest of the run no matter how much I try.. I guess this is the end for me playing this game. I enjoyed the rest until this disaster.
Seriously? It took me like five tries to get throught this little escape sequence. Different people find different things difficult, but still... If you failed that much there, you would have been roasted in the actual boss fight. Maybe try going somewhere else, apparently this part of the game is non-linear and you can choose what area you do first, so it could be that the other ones are easier.

Defeated him in under 2 minutes on the first try (with the fire balls you can shoot -- they deal a lot of damage to Kwolok)... Now I'm stuck on another escape sequence. I really dislike these..

Then I fought the boss (Kwolok) and defeated him on my first try in under 2 minutes, mainly using this skill: oriandtheblindforest.fandom.com/wiki/Light_Burst_(Will_of_the_Wisps) Right now I'm stuck on another escape sequence, which is very hard for me (I'm playing on keyboard and mouse, and am not very good at these fast-paced sequences, to be honest). And I had like 15 energy and health cells at that point in the game. I guess I was postponing this fight quite a lot -- this was my last wisp I collected.

Actually, you can deflect the falling boulders/rocks and the dark projectile Kwolok spits back at him by equipping the Deflector shard and swinging the Spirit Edge. Deflecting the dark projectile back at him deals a lot of damage, like 2/5 of his max HP.
2 years passed, and I still didn’t beat him. Took a long pause bc couldn’t get through the race part, and the only times I successfully did, I kept dying during the fight. This part of the game pisses me off, I’m super sure other boss fights will be much MUCH easier for me than this frog guy😩
Ahhhhh have you beaten him yet? I suggest using the light spear! It made winning extremely easy for me. Also buy the ability that allows ori to breathe underwater. It really comes in handy!. Out of all the boss fights Mora was my favorite☺️ everything about it was amazing.
Recently bought this game on a sale. Spider fight was easier than this, I can't even get to the fight, I keep dying in the stupid race, instant kills are shit when he looks like he's in the background, not even touching me, but I die anyway. Wish I could just skip to the fighting part, bet I'd wreck him. Guess I'll never find out though.

that's a water dash, it is mandatory to learn it to even advance to this boss fight, so you definitively have it. Use dash near the surface to jump out of the water
OMG, my game broke. Finally got through the race, beat him easily, tried to go back to fetch some things, there's an area with an anemone behind some sand in a rock you have to tickle to open a path to get an ore, I kept failing to make it around the rock in time to get through the tentacles or whatever they are, somehow the last try I broke through instead of being trapped, then the screen went all murky blue. Tried reloading, still blue screen, exited game and continued, still blue screen, tried warping, still blue screen. Looks like I have to start a whole new game. So F this Shhh.

On my successful run, I ended up using the charm(yes, I am calling this a charm) that makes your bow shoot three arrows and the one that allows you to shoot faster, I did the majority of my damage like that. On my first few attempts, I tried using my upgraded spear, but it was just using so much energy that I thought the bow would be preferable.
I didn't manage to get thru the fight. I am still stuck with the run. I wish someone can play this part for me. my fingers' agility is really really bad
MAN this boss is hard if you have a janky controller and 8 year old laptop. plus water phase is harder because I cant heal. I guess I'll acquire spirit lance before that.

@@shojwiebelhaus1391 heyy :D I have some tips, use spike instead of hammer or sword, it saves so much time. Also, since spike uses 1 ball of energy, just keep smashing the crystal to get energy

The escape took me some retries, but the fight is damn easy if you got that hammer power (big damage, no energy cost).

Get that hammer power, and you do so much damage that you don't even need to escaoe attacks as you can tank it until you win.
If you charge into the arms they give you health.

You can abandon the fight in the menu options. It's miles easier with more health and better abilities.
This was so scary and heart breaking, I couldn't process his death for a good 10 mins after and started killing every enemy which came in front of me
When the tentacles are sprouting from the floor and wall, you have time to dash out of the water and swipe away at his massive hitbox
His death was incredibly sad, and it's a sacrifice that will never be forgotten. :'(

When I beat this fight I was sobbing. Kwolok was such a great character, and the music is unforgettable. The piano version after he dies broke me.

Kwolok catching and smashing that Foul... thing with his bare hands while fatally injured is an underrated moment when NPC can be a badass.

Now I learned that you can get the water dash ability BEFORE the fight.
Just use the correct shards and spam the spear

My game glitched and when he's supposed to be pulling in water there was no water for me, so I could do a lot of damage
