Welcome to the saga of the cleaning disc with/without the hole. Good luck trying to get information on whether it's ok or not, so I'll tell you what I've gleaned online. Basically breville/sage issued their machines with a cleaning disc with a hole, then changed it to one without a hole circa 2020, then changed it back last year to having a hole again. All the videos online tend to be describing the process for the no-hole era. According to Sage there is still enough accumulated pressure to backflush the machine with the hole. Me? I'm not so sure, but I also don't want to damage my machine as I'm sure they went back to the hole for a reason they maybe don't want to say for litigation reasons. Anyway that's probably no help, but it is what it is.
