Build a giant 3d printer in space. Imagine the possibilities.

While the fundamental concepts here (adaptability and conservation of precious limited resources) should be lauded, and will be essential for sustainable, long-term space travel, I sincerely hope that the B-roll included here is not representative of the final performance for their machine, or of the calibration practices followed by their team during development.
While this video may be displaying a proof of concept, rather than the finalized design, someday, peoples lives could depend on the technology you're developing-the least you can do is tune your retraction, flow rate, temperature, and E-steps, and ensure that your team collects data in a manner where results are repeatable.

    ☢©☢ NEVER on Google+ [ OK ]
~ great now mount it in the Space Walker centrifuge when the space cadets are not exercising
= look forward to the 1st thingy made by homo sapien in near space low orbit, these items are priceless when junked, in or out of orbit as museum pieces or for the lagrange point spaceship wreckers as recycling & used parts or construction fodder
