    I learnt how to do tie ends easier now that's what I learnt thankyou, am only new to this and I'm using old rods and stripping them down and replacing the guides atm.

    Newbie builder here.. used your straw method with recent tag wraps but they would come loose when I burnished them. I started adding a wee drop of color preserver just where the two tag ends stuck out then waited to trim them until the CP had dried. No more unravelling. Yay!!! Thanks for sharing that method, it makes a nail knot much nicer than the one where you don't use the straw but trap the threads between your thumb & index finger. Sorry I missed the live stream... next time...

    I do my tag wraps the same way. Works great and is fast. Basically a nail knot. Great job on the vid. 👍🏻🤙🏻

    You are giving ideas on my build, but i need to know which way to point the guide since one side of the large guides are looped around both sides of the guide.

      i gained a lot of information on adding the guides to my blank 2-piece rod build.

      @@arnoldl.arrington5147 - as you see it in the thumbnail it should be applied to the blank. Meaning, in the thumbnail, the bottom or butt of the rod is at the bottom of the thumbnail.

    I'm currently building a 10', 2-piece 5wt fly rod for the first time in almost 40 years. That tag wrap technique is new to me and so easy I got it on my first try! Just ordered a dozen different threads and hope to finish the rod by next week with some nice bling like sawtooth wraps and nice tags on the single foot guides above eh two-foot stripping guide. First time ever making my own grip and that went well.
    Some great videos and I'm watching lots!

      Yes, you want a tension rod on there, and I think you an buy them individually.

    I always use the Forhan wrap on all my spinning rods.
    Extra insurance!

    I would have Laid the 2 blues and the 1 white under the Gray At the beginning and then tied them off
    at the end.
