Always a pleasure to get knowledge from you Dan. Ive been using DE for years and this stuff is AWESOME. Everything he said so far about DE has been correct. Picked up a 55lb bag from my local farming feed store.
    Thank you for sharing!

Thank you Dan. Been using it for years but always afraid to use in garden because I don't want to harm the earthworms. Really appreciate the clarification.

Great clarification video on this product! I've been searching about it to control the unwanted pests we have in our garden, in addition to neem oil every now and then as needed. All my hard work needs protection lol. Thanks again!! Happy gardening!

Kills spiders too. We have brown recluse spiders and I've got this stuff in every corner of the house. I don't see the spiders any more.

I like that you even mentioned people who care about the fact “pest control” is taking the lives from those little bugs (as insignificant as some people think their lives are- it’s their only life....) I have a inner conflict dealing with these things too. I have just recently trained myself that if I see a fast moving spider in my house to kill it right away without thinking. I still feel bad but I’ve learned too many times that if I walk away to get a cup it will be gone and then I won’t be able to sleep. I’ll catch and release most any other living intruder that I can tho.

I found your video on a Safer Diatomaceous Earth post, and it has this video using the Safer DE which is NOT food grade! I was fixing to put that on my dog and I decided to research it. I'm so glad I did. I don't think you meant to be representing the Safer brand as food grade. I'm adding the link so you can look at it. Thanks!

  • @donnaflores50

I purchased the duster with your link yesterday, I can't wait to try it out, I'm having a terrible time with ants farming aphids on one artichoke plant and I noticed today red spider mites have infected the other artichoke. Other than the pests the plants are growing great and are loaded with aritchokes.

Hey people we know using things that repel insects has unexpected or unintended consequences. There are insects even pests that are needed. Birds and spiders need to eat too. Just go easy and sparingly. Neem and Epsom salt are great natural products.

Unfortunately they are not doing a good enough job. Any ideas what I can apply to keep grasshoppers off them in first place?

Hey, thanks for the information brother.
I do have one question; is diatomaceous earth effective on fly maggots? I have plenty on the bases of my cherry tomato plants, which are planted in raised garden beds. I noticed these pests about two weeks after I scratched in "all purpose granular fertilizer" and many flies began to hang out around the area.
    Kind regards

How effective is it on Pantry moths?

    • @lorilockwood4323
      @lorilockwood4323 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I just had a horric battle with meal moths. It took a month maybe month and a half but I won the war. What worked for me is ziplocking or vaccum sealing every type of grain. Emptied cabinets sprayed it down with vinegar. Put ceder blocks in them, still had them.. ordered cedarcide, I had this feeling they were behind the cabinets on my walls. As soon as it got here , I cleared the cabinets again and sprayed the cedar side from the top of where cabinets touch the wall and let it run down behind each cabinets. It worked! If I had to do it again. I'd spray inside the cabinets with it straight off and where they attach to the walls. It's smelly but not bad and fades soon. I still have most of my kitchen stuff in totes in my living room. No sign of them and it's been almost two months , now to start putting the kitchen back together. :)

Prevent ants 🐜 mint works great 👍, prevent slug 🐌 dry coffee ☕️ ground works great 👍, prevent masquitos lavender works great 👍. For masquitos just simply put a lavender leaves or flowers on the chest pocket, they don’t bite you anymore. If they still do, then your body heat might be too high.
For indoor flies, to be honest, I never have that problems because I collect my urine indoor to fertilize my garden and plants 🌱 love it, and guess what, those indoor flies love my pee as well they fly into it to drown themselves, no idea why but it works, I fertilize with my urine in a daily basis so there’s no smell problems at all.

It only works on fleas etc if it's dry. I do think making a spray and spraying it on the animals and letting it dry is a great idea, less worries about the animals inhaling the powder but if you don't leave it on after it dries , I doubt you would make a dent in fleas.

@@lorilockwood4323 it works fine once it's dry. However, you don't need to go to all that trouble. Just get a small handful of the stuff and rub it into their belly hairs. That's it.
