- Today I'm taking a look at the first plastic free packaging figure release for the line with the GameStop Exclusive Jason and Trini Color Swap 2 Pack based on the story arc from the Go Go Power Rangers comics!

I like that the civilian heads look more like the comic style since they're comic figures. Also a nice bonus that they come with the civilian heads on.
the silver lining is that the mmpr red helmet makes the series 3 figure look dramatically better
It's insane that they didn't give these two properly sized helmets.

Well it’s obvious people would swap the helmets onto the regular red and yellow figures, so in a way it kinda works itself out 😅

Definitely not something I'm gonna look for but if I find it I might get it. The best part is having the yellow male body in case you want to have the Sentai team.

Should be getting mines today. Definitely hope they do the others. Just started back collecting figures again after not having got any since 2003, so it’s be nice to get all the versions of Kimberly out of the way early.
Update: It never came. And I'm waiting on word from the post office to see whether they'll be able to send it or I can get my money back to buy a new one 😡

@@zfreddy3916 Thanks! And yeah, I got it about two weeks after I posted this message. After they gave me the run around, the post-office finally told me they had it and I picked it up.
I don't get the hate for this set, I have this set and it's fine. It does exactly what it set out to do. The only issue I have with mine is that it came with 4 holstered blade blasters which is actually a positive as I'd much prefer those to the gun mode.
The hate for this set to how pointless it is when we have can have more rangers from other seasons
@@emmanuelsebi6964 Then just be patient, MMPR sells so they have to release MMPR figures to keep the line profitable. It's either, 50% of the line is MMPR or there is no line, your choice.
If Hasbro hadn't gone lazy mode with the MMPR helmets by not resizing them, it would be a lot better. Of course, for how long this line has been running and how many mistakes that have been done, I'm glad I gave up the line a while ago. I'm really only curious to see how Super7'S MMPR figures turn out now.
Just got a message that mine will be ready soon. This will actually give me a 12 member MMPR Team! I passed on Dino Charge because I was thinking, 'Large 10 Member Team'. I had no idea I'd have a 10 member MMPR Team then.
They still can release Rocky as MMPR Red.

You were right in the money with the 30th anniversary red ranger not only does it have the helmet but it has a dragon shield with removeable armbands

Not sure if it's a camera thing but wow, they look very pink on camera, those skin tones...
They’ll still release Rocky with the correct helmet like they did with Aisha in the 2 pack and the upcoming Adam figure.
I had such a time trying to get the helmet head on. They were not as easy as the unmorphed heads. Maybe the insides were not carved out enough

Your first PFP figures is this two pack but mine was the Ryu Ranger and Chun Li Ranger, and I must say the LC has the best PFP of all the brands so far.
We all know Hasbro will re-release the MMPR with pinless joints and the new helmets. It's easy money for them. And I will totally get two of each. One for display and the second ones as replacements, just in case.
I'm an inbox collector but I was still onboard with this new packaging as long as it was like the packaging used for Omega, but wow I really hate that they are just in tissue paper. This new packaging sucks and I may have to bow out soon :(

I only got this set for the new improved red ranger helmet and the other blade blaster modes to give to my wave 3 red ranger and perfect that figure.
Now that I have this set, I’m slowly warming up to the idea of the other three color swap rangers being in the boom studios wave. It’s kind of interesting that they made a whole comic storyline for a male yellow and pink ranger. 2 storylines for the pink ranger actually.
If Hasbro is planning on releasing the rest of the team later, then yes. But if they don't, then no.
So getting a better red helmet and a male yellow body in the same set is cool, but I don't see myself getting this, at least for full price. If it goes down to 40 or less I could go for it though.
If you swapped the trini yellow with the Jason yellow you get the zyuranger team lol

It looks like jasons eye is painted to close to the center of his face. have mine hopefully coming tomorrow and im so worried about its quality. the windowless boxes are really going to hurt this line going forward.
They should do a remastered version of the sdcc 2 pack with fixed helmets, i don't think many would mind

Unfortunately I think buying this set for the correct red helmet is bad just for the simple fact all of mmpr will be released again regularly with updated pinless bodies and correct helmets

Hot Water, justy have a cup of hot to boiling(microwaved 2 min) on the side to pop the heads and hands of new figures(or cough original mmpr yellow). Especially with colder weather, these figures are going to expand/contract in not so friendly ways.
The hand pegs for these figures are shorter. That means you can't use all the other hands from previous releases on these figures. Not without modification. But you can use the hands from these on older figures. These are vertical hinge gripping hands which is good for hold swords/blasters. I get why they changed sizes as shorter is safer but still annoying.
For me. Jason Yellows helmet sits too high on the MMPR female yellow body even heating up the helmet. Some may like it more but it's not like how it was addressed with metallic yellow. The old red helmet and Sentry red fits on Trini Red.
But it's the legs. This wasn't a problem of Retro Spider-man and Gi Joe. But man those drop down joints are a bit loose. Of course other companies make the hinges independent of the other side.
The knees and elbows thought are noticeably loose. Seems the ratchets are too shallow/thin. Now that's a factory QA issue.
Really what hurts this release hard is the tolerances on the joints is bad. Also they needed to resize the helmets or include properly resized helmets.
Civi sculpts. Trini seems two to two. This Jason one though is trying to make the actors face animated but it's really wonky. It doesn't look like the comic head which I think is where they should have went.
When the helmets are on they look terrible.
This set is one of the biggest waste of money o have ever had on this line, Trini has the face print all off center, along with a broken holster for the blaster. Jason along with being floppy as all hell has 2 left legs! Already contacted Hasbro but this is the worst co stop no have ever received figures.
Tha Lightning collection team is so freaking lazy. This is terrible. Wanted this pack for the accurate red ranger helmet and fodder, but honestly don’t know if it’s worth it.
They should have included optional skirt for the red ranger figure, also slim male figures should be a thing, just flatten the chest section and boom skinny/femboi ranger figure

People buying this garbage is just going to make them put out more sorry excuses for figures , especially with price hikes. Clearly both helmets dont fit well or look right and you’re only paying for the faces or the Red helmet to swap on the original one. Hasbro is actually insane, the fans are even more insane. I like the Lightning Collection but it has a mess of flaws

@@razormatrix8904 The head sculpts don't look like the real-life OR the comic book faces. The helmets are disproportionate with the body and don't even snap on properly. The box is terrible.
