Your 100% correct. The only reason i play simcity is for a beautiful creation, I DONT PLAY IT FOR WAR I Edit: I quit simcity now for the same reason, i quit because it takes a lot of my time.
I’ve recently picked up the game again after a break of about 2 years and I agree with you entirely on the faults with the game. I’d love to be able to turn off the building upgrades and lose those annoying icons, but I notice there are more “low rise” options now (art nouveau & Latin buildings) to avoid glass and concrete skyscrapers - although those don’t earn the same return in taxes. TOTALLY agree with you on the war issue - I refuse to engage with that aspect of the game and I don’t join clubs either. When I first played the game I got to the point where I had my city as I liked it and then moved onto the other maps, but by then I’d kinda had enough. This time around I’m still building so I’m enjoying that part, I won’t be paying cash to play the game though, I’ll just be patient.
Yeah; that's what I do, too. I just practice patience, set all my factories up with long hours of production and close the app. Open it back up hours later when their done and do what I can. Many things about the game I love, but also many I hate.
I only play to build a city I'm satisfied with, to be honest, and the pop bubbles, I view my city with the photo sharing in settings to at least have no obstructions when you just want to view your city for a while. 😊
The fun for me of older SimCity games was building a city up and then starting over trying different strategies. I never got much into this game because it cloud saved into my Apple Game Center and I couldn’t start over. I’m glad they have added a delete city option so I’m playing again. With how long it takes to craft some items, literally hours, it seems they expected it to be just played for 10 minutes here and there throughout the day. If you play it like that it’s great, but I’d much prefer just a more compact version of SimCity 4. I love that you can visit other peoples cities and vote on them, but then I realized a lot of them probably didn’t grind up to earn those cosmetics but simply bought them. Never know if I’m looking at a respectable grind or pay to win.
Started playing SimCity 4 around 2005. 15 years later installed SimCity BuildIt and have been on it ever since. As a teenager I was in awe with the town planning and realistic representation of city life. That gaming experience has made me look at my city's utilities and the state's in general with holistic view. However the current game has become more representative of the times we live in, where anything can be done if you have money. SimCity BuildIt's multiple and hard-to-get currencies like the laws of our times just stifle any attempt to move forward. But there is something, you can simply get around anything and everything with SimCash. Be it production time, building upgrades, export rows or cargo shipments, with cash anything is possible.
I’ve been playing this game since 2015 Currently at Level 36, I give up, the way we have limited city storage is EXTREMELY frustrating, back then it was more of a city building game unlike now that all the weird stuff has been added like Wars(WHY?!), Leagues & Epic Projects(NOT WORTH IT). There’s a lot of times where I’d rather not pop an opinion bubble as I KEEP GETTING MORE AND MORE ITEMS THAT TAKE UP STORAGE.. WHY?! HOW DOES ONE CITIZEN CASUALLY GIVES AN EXPANSION EQUIPMENT TO THE MAYOR?! I don’t get it… Another thing is, the game gets harder and harder to build more as the buildings keep demanding complex items(that takes AGES to manufacture ontop of the limited city storage) to upgrade! It’s not worth the time even. It’s just one of EA’s strategy of “pay to win”. It’s upsetting, the game graphics & music are beautiful but for what the gameplay is, loads of wasted potential. That being said I am quitting SimCity Build it. I just bought SimCity 2013(on sale) and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. To be fair SimCity 2013 has several limitations such as small cities to build in but I’m happy with the game play. That being said ONLY buy SimCity 2013 if it’s on Sale, I got it at 75% off. Otherwise just play City Skylines. Advice: If you’re actually going to take part in the Epic Building’s project(I admire your courage and willpower), AVOID THE MOUNTAIN SPECIALISATION AT ALL COSTS! I did it once and regretted it horribly. Imagine slaving yourself to collect points and only for the building to turn out WORSE than the skyscraper it was before- To be fair, the mountain specialisation buildings aren’t an eyesore to look at, but considering how much time you spend on that and the fact that other specialisations create _actually epic_ looking buildings; yeah mountain specialisations is a NO GO.
@@shadowreaper5413 Glad you leveled up pretty fast! I played this game when I was 11, probably was too busy with school at that time, I salute you for levelling up fast and all the best for new challenges with higher levels.
Sure you can play the game your way, I do, but I built a solid foundation at level 25 when I was informed I was playing wrong. I took about 10 months to fix my city by not leveling up and building storage. I won a few 1st places in the Mega League, which kept the game fun for me. There are 3 huge traps in the game, leveling up too quickly, low storage, and opening Regions before you have a solid Capital City. I've been playing for about 7 years and I am at level 80. It's an EA game, so of course there is the greed factor, which does bother me at times. Being in a Club you enjoy helps greatly. The war part I did not like until I saw how it can affect winning in the weekly league score. It can be very exciting if in a cool Club. The game isn't as fun as it was four years ago, but I still play as there are parts that I still like.
If the game was that easy to unlock storage and land, you'll be bored within days. This is a storage management game, all of it is for the long run, it's naive to want everything come easy. At last, I agree 100% with the microtransaction part, it's really invasive.
This game need someone calm but the problem is the simlons complaint too much they make me laugh so one day i put a wall and let them complain too them self
The only way I can make it work is having a city on each device I own. They all feed resources into the main city in my own private club. I don't do wars. Don't play this very much anymore. I also remember and miss the original sim city games.
The worst thing about SC:B for me are the limited time buildings. As I am typing, I'm trying to complete the Rio de Janeiro collection, and I could not think that I'd finish past tier 29 as there are four more days before the event ends. I just want the Pão de Azucar (Sugarloaf) Mountain and Jardim Botanico as I love the visuals of the Rio de Janeiro, but omg they really would not let me unless I pay them a lot for the SimCash to rush all production. Honestly, I wanna see how far I can go before uninstalling the game.
Im quittin the game right now! As you, i also starden in early 2ks in my pc. Then downloaded some years ago til I quitted for the same reason Im quittin right now after started the game again 5 months ago. The game is just an excuse to use real money to do something meaningful with your city. I have 400k in money account but nothing to do because I dont have space, so Im stuck and the only way to move forward is using real money wich is stupid. I remember the good pc era when I had a nice city and I was havin fun building it as I wanted... Al I feel now is frustrantion for this game
If you are not after that go-live concept. If you just want to build pretty landscapes, maybe game developer-tools to generate 3D-landscapes, 3D-cities, 3D... assets, will be more interesting even if it means, no-profit and no-loss, just egg-you-on for these sorts(microtransactions) of game-theory believers. Like revenge.?
If someone were to create a user-interface(same as simcity) from game-development packages... many will "play" it (advertised as arranging arrangement time-killer app).?
@@Asian_Italy cheap android tablet. I guess it will be cheaper to buy an arm-laptop than an expensive phone. Then i will have 2 muah.hahaha evil-laughter thingamajigs for the price of half an expensive phone running emulator.
I play this game again, but the server are so bad. Few feature need to be online and my network is good, but simcity always say "Sorry major, there are connectivity issue bla bla bla" and I just "What the hell?"
You are playing it wrong. It’s easy to get Simcash, Platinum keys and Gold keys if you do it right. Concentrate on the Contest of Mayors. You get major rewards there. Launch VU disasters. That’s free Gold keys there. Don’t upgrade too fast. That’s key. Stay as low level as you can and concentrate on the Contest of Mayors. Increase your storage. You only have I think 65. Most players max out at 700 (now 800). Follow the building guide from Missy Anne.
this. you're absolutely right. if you watch a few missy videos everything you said makes perfect sense and in a few months you can easily have a great city, with hundreds of keys and storage and thousands of simcash. the problem is if you don't do any research you will 100% fail this game.
I tired the game again recently since I gave up on it in 2017, it's even worse than it was back then Got to level 25 and uninstalled the app in 3 days (I spammed buildings so I can level up quickly) Now we've got mayor's pass And a failed copy of the cities skylines train mechanic I couldn't anymore with the road upgrade mechnic, and the constant need to spend more coins than I make, and also the feeling of suffocation because I can't place any new buildings in my city because I need to expand with materials, that drop very rarely and take up the already very limited storage that I have
They make it harder than what it need to be lik have all those different types of in game purchases really make it annoying & over whelming trying to get it together just to purchase 1 small pond or lake lik its really ridiculous on how complicated this games really is in the long run
Yeah people who don't play this as a phone game usually quit between lvl 30-40. Looking at the amount of storage, keys, simoleons and simcash you have it's obvious Ur playing it in a way where u cut urself off from making good progress. Also War is just an option, there are plenty of clubs that don't do war.
I'm getting to the same point where I might quit the game, too. Not only is it a gigantic time-suck, but unhealthily addicting, and it is designed to be that way. There are a lot of things that I think are great about the game, but also there are many aspects I really dislike. Here are the main dislikes: 1. I really hate the road upgrades and how it arbitrarily decides a road has too much traffic. It's a scam to basically force the Mayor to spend a ridiculous amount of Simoleons, when they are just trying to save up for the next big purchase. It slows down progress and is just unnecessary. It makes the game not enjoyable, and it's not realistic at all. I can even see the roads that claim to have "too much traffic", and the road is visibly empty with maybe two cars driving down it... if the game is going to claim to have congested traffic, then it should actually show Sims in cars and trucks, buses actually in traffic jams... not just saying it just because you want to make me spend 14,000 Simoleons just to pave a Six lane street... and especially after I just paid about 7,000 to pave a 4 lane street. It's ridiculous and annoying, and whoever programmed it that way is a moron. It's not going to get me to buy any packs, and I'm not spending any of my money... so your plan did not work (just in case you're the jackass programmer that made it like that reading this). Part of me wonders if the game is testing me, to see if I'm stupid, if I'd really spend 14,000 Simoleons because one building was abandoned... I have several roads that are marked "yellow" and one red. There is only 1 building that is abandoned, and when you view the street, it's empty... there isn't any traffic... so, this part the game is idiotic. 2. War Clubs - I did not start the game with the intention of playing a war type game. It was not advertised as one, and I am not interested at all with joining any group or "going to war"... It is not SimCity and it is extremely annoying that the developers put emphasis on this. I do like some war type games, but when I went to play this, I strictly wanted to build like in the classic SimCity. 3. Dr. Vu and the Monsters... the mad scientist aspect and a giant squid attacking a ship is also unappealing and makes me want to stop playing. It's not realistic, and I don't want my city to be associated with some Frankenstein lab next door or giants monsters or disasters. It's uninteresting and just annoys me while what I want to do, is build a cool city... not these other side distractions and pointless bs. 4. Having 5 or 6 different kinds of currencies is annoying and stupid. It should just be Simoleons and SimCash and that's it. Having the keys is okay, but the games makes the amount of keys needed too ridiculous, and the amount of effort needed to obtain keys is too much... this is all apart of the design to get people to cave and end up buying packs with their real world money, but for someone just wanting to play for free, all of it is extremely unfair and annoying. No need to have the Platinum Keys, the Rail Simoleons... WHY... Why do we need to have a separate Railroad Simoleon to purchase things? It's so stupid. No, just have the profit from the trains become normal Simoleons... it's added complication for no reason other than to slow down progress and get the player to buy packs... Between saving up keys to build schools, and trying to make the beach fun, it feels like it took forever just to be able to finally build a water park and a surfer beach... while I know that's not a priority, it's still annoying for a Free player to have to wait that long to be able to build things. Regional currencies, and keys, and Platinum keys, SimCash, it's all too much. It's just meant to incentivize buying packs and passes. Scam BS. Has nothing to do with skill, or being able to build a nice city. Sure, you can enter and win contests, but if you're up against a bunch of people that bought packs, it's almost impossible to win unless you're playing damn near all day... 5. The Epic Project and the Epic points is also an unnecessary aspect of the game, and turned out to be a total waste of time for me, because it prompted me to start it, when I was not nearly ready to... I didn't yet have a fashion store, nor had I saved up enough Simoleons to build one, and all the things the Epic Project wanted me to give them was hats and articles of clothing I didn't have, couldn't produce yet, and also I hadn't upgraded my furniture store, and couldn't make the cabinets some Epic points places needed... it caused me to scramble, build as much as I could to save up money, produce all these things to produce other things, just to make 8 donuts, for what? All to not even make half the Epic points needed for the Turtle tokens, all for nothing. Wasted effort, wasted time... and have to spend another 1,000 Simoleons to start from scratch... This was so aggravating and annoying, that this will probably be one of the main reasons I quit the app entirely, aside from the street upgrade scams. I know this is long, but rant over. I'm sure those of you that know what I'm talking about would agree.
BTW, for those of you still playing it, I found the glitch, if there's a road that gives you a red traffic notice, sometimes you can go out into regular selection mode, grab the building that was "abandoned", lift it out, move it, then replace it back and the notification goes away for a while. Or, move another adjacent building next to it, and move it back and plant it down again, the green smiley faces pop up and the traffic thing goes away... which is proof that it's a scam... the road isn't really congested, or have too much traffic, it's just a programmed Ai thing choosing streets based on population density and trying to get you to spend thousands of your coins. Don't do it, unless you can afford to. Just move buildings and place them back. The notifications eventually go away. It's similar to small police, fire depts. and clinics, sometimes you have to click on them and move them to cover more area, and it resets the zone and makes the notices go away.
use 2-3 phone intall after level 10 use buy city expansion or for city storage add friends that 3 fb account then favor 1 phone.. 3 months of playing now im level 80
Also you are right about the upgrade bubbles, they are so annoying If you are going to ripoff another games, why don't you rip off the feature that lets you upgrade buildings but keep the same look on them
Try theotown. This is a good game where you have profilt, and more. It is a bit bored, but when u have no internet, (it dont need internet) , it is intersting. Also, it is realistic.
Great game to waste lunch break time on. I disagree with your views tho. It's easy to earn Sims cash, platinum keys and gold keys. It's a slow paced game

The sound that plays when you select a factory is burned into my brain.
I think we all know who’s fult it is . . . EA
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDER STANDS
I agree! I don’t want to upgrade my building anymore I want houses also! 😢😢😢😊
I’ve been playing this game since 2015
Currently at Level 36,
I give up, the way we have limited city storage is EXTREMELY frustrating, back then it was more of a city building game unlike now that all the weird stuff has been added like Wars(WHY?!), Leagues & Epic Projects(NOT WORTH IT). I don’t get it…
Another thing is, the game gets harder and harder to build more as the buildings keep demanding complex items(that takes AGES to manufacture ontop of the limited city storage) to upgrade!
Imagine slaving yourself to collect points and only for the building to turn out WORSE than the skyscraper it was before-
To be fair, the mountain specialisation buildings aren’t an eyesore to look at, but considering how much time you spend on that and the fact that other specialisations create _actually epic_ looking buildings; yeah mountain specialisations is a NO GO.
I only played a month ago and now lvl 31
@@shadowreaper5413 Glad you leveled up pretty fast! I played this game when I was 11, probably was too busy with school at that time,
I salute you for levelling up fast and all the best for new challenges with higher levels.
@@TransportationONLY thanks but I realise It was a waste of time
@@shadowreaper5413 It literally is, this is why PC versions of mobile games will always be better.
@@TransportationONLY true words
I'm tired of SimCity Buildit. The CoM.has turned into a second job!
I just wanted to design a city 😒
😂 very true. It is so difficult to win COM unless you're super dedicated
@@GrizzyLemming The fact that you had to go through this process is insane
Sim City Buildit is just purely a downgrade and a trap. Wish they’d come out with a classic PC Sim City instead of this cash grab.
@@engchoontan8483 Then theotown will be perfect for you because it's the simcity 4 or simcity 3000 mobile and even have a mod support!
I had played Theotown a little while ago because of Simcity Build It and it’s so fun! More freedom and customization

I play this game again, but the server are so bad. Few feature need to be online and my network is good, but simcity always say "Sorry major, there are connectivity issue bla bla bla" and I just "What the hell?"
I mean.. it's EA games. What were you expecting? XP
Looks like im not the only one!
2:41 Glad I'm not the only one who hates these bubbles
Join clubs which don't participate in wars
try megapolis, and do a review please
I tired the game again recently since I gave up on it in 2017, it's even worse than it was back then
Got to level 25 and uninstalled the app in 3 days (I spammed buildings so I can level up quickly)
Now we've got mayor's pass
And a failed copy of the cities skylines train mechanic
I couldn't anymore with the road upgrade mechnic, and the constant need to spend more coins than I make, and also the feeling of suffocation because I can't place any new buildings in my city because I need to expand with materials, that drop very rarely and take up the already very limited storage that I have
at first its smooth to play but when you added more buildings etc. it becomes laggy so so laggy and thats why i quit this game..
Sim City 3000 was the shit. Sim City build it is very different. I'm not into mobile gaming. I need a computer with a mouse
Here are the main dislikes:
2. War Clubs - I did not start the
game with the intention of playing a war type game.
EA pay-to-win in his most pure way and vision on this game
use 2-3 phone intall after level 10 use buy city expansion or for city storage add friends that 3 fb account then favor 1 phone.. 3 months of playing now im level 80
@@catherinelabajo9152i dont get any expansion items in my feeder account also how do you do it

Ah I love having unlimited resources/currency/etc. makes it so much more enjoyable to play.
