Mike Perry - “praying for it ain’t gonna get it done” Helwani - “what made you change your beliefs?” Perry - “I went to Amsterdam and got really high” 😆😂😎
I can't believe I just watched an hour long interview without pausing it once. That was incredible, Mike Perry is a treasure. I can't wait for him to get on JRE.
Rullion your a white boy who was raised in the suburbs and wish you could slang talk with the hood people.. notice i said hood not black people.. where you at is where you from.. do you even know what that means??
I love this guy! This is one of Ariel’s best interviews, Perry is a true fighter, definitely a huge fan and an even bigger fan now that we got to listen to him talk. Platinum Mike Perry is now even more so one of my favorite fighters. Can’t wait to see how his career goes! #Platinum
Appreciate Mike's honesty, enjoy watching his fights but i some time's feel he talks the talk but never shows what he's talking about, thats my only issue with him (i guess that's MMA for ya). But it was nice getting to hear about his up bringing and his current thoughts on life in general, Mike's a solid dude 👍🏼👊🏼
Do you think the UFC rushed him into a top 10 fight too soon? I do. He's young, so a good wrestling or bjj coach will do him wonders. Until he can get better in those areas, the matchmakers have got to keep feeding him punching bags lol Ponzinibbio was a bit too experienced for him & he even got hit
Rudeboy Troy that could be a factor yes. But lets be real Mike talks really big about himself, so they tried to give him a big push which didn't work out. Mike's still in the learning stage of fighting, in roughly a year he should be legit top 10 quality imo. Good guy but his trash talking boosted him up too soon.
MrRemixV3 I think the fact that he has very brutal knockout power for his division has something to do with it. I don't think you've seen a Mike Perry highlight reel. More power in his hands than most welterweights.
I agree. But, for all his power he's still an MMA "freshman" (Ponzinibbio was a "Senior"). He needs to join a top team & get better coaches to teach him to refine that raw power. I think he still trains w/ his homies lol
Joe I dont agree here ! If you keep it real you alrdeay know if this was Woodley telling his story haters would still be here criticizing the things he did and way he was brought up or the way he put it... If you on here talking bout woodley on a Mike perry interview you probly kno hate runs deep once its settled somewhere in your mind.
This was such an amazing interview. I'm so happy to hear him grow as a person. His comments about his relationship with his father was heartbreaking. In the absence of parental guidance to offer structure, support, and love, he learned life lessons by experiencing the harsher punishments that life can offer.
Never thought I had much in common with Mike Perry, but damn when he talked about 12 different schools, always moving... that's my life. Even now I live abroad and can't stop moving... how much of a difference Mike Perry would have if he had positive role models and guidance growing up.
I know these parts where Mike has grew up in and I went to school and grew with guys like him. Men like him are the most honest and fearless. That's cool he has family in Tennessee and in FL so do I.
Mike is destined for greatness. I'm so happy he saw the flaws of that structured religious BS and a very very flawed ideal. Feels great to think for yourself and to understand how powerful yourself is. Not to live in fear of a god so that man can benefit. Stay blessed Mike
I have never been too keen on Mike for some reason, listening to this interview has changed my view completely. I can relate to him in several ways, I've been to prison myself as a nipper & the whole 9 yards. Will def be paying more attention to him from now on. As usual Ariel a very solid interview, you always seem to ask the best questions & take the interview down the most relevant & interesting place, good work 👌
I just love this guy! I personally like the beard! He's so real and my second favourite UFC fighter🇮🇪 His upbringing sounds a little scary, imagine being afraid of purple paper! Go for it Mike, your honesty is so touching, hope you get everything you hope for with Danielle🇮🇪
I feel you Mike, everything you went through has made you who you are today. Growing up in NYC and coming from a broken home, I know how you feel....HANG IN THERE. ( i lived in Orlando for 14 years, love it, i have family there still).
Mike you a real one.real talk.listening to your point of view on things and experiences is alot similar to the way i think and things ive been though..stay blessed💯🙏
Mike Platinum Perry is as real as they come! One of my favorite fighters by far. When he was asked a question and he would pause it wasn't because he was tippy toeing around trying to find the best answers it was because he wanted to make sure he was telling the full truth and being 100% REAL!
We all knew he was troubled, but never did we expect to be here today in 2021, and although Dana White still likes him, and some of us enjoy the memories, what a wild ride he put himself on. Paranoid, misguided, angry...has made a fool of himself outside the ring... Much respect when it comes to that fighting heart, Mike. You seemed to be in a good place here, but we are in a different place now, a much worse place, but you have a real family now. Get yourself together, stop calling people "n" words, escape your upbringing, and grow up, because if this is how you remain, this is who your child will admire. I love the memories. Thank you.
Man, I used to hate this guy just based off his looks and I wished this guy no success because I didn't see more than what my eyes saw and now I kind of like this guy after hearing him talk. This interview was very beneficial for him because it gets people like me to take a second look at him and converts some people who otherwise weren't a fan. I hope this guy buckles down in his training and finds success, he seems very real and nice. Good luck Mike!
I'm a fan of Jouban, he's a great guy, but he ran from Perry the entire fight after Perry cracked him lol. Jouban did land a sweet head kick on him while playing matador though.
If Mike Perry gets with a solid camp I think he could be a top 10 guy. I was a fan of this dude the minute I saw him, Been around the type my whole life
I respect his loyalty but I would like to see Mine Perry go to a more established camp. I believe top notch coaching could really help his game. This dudes so marketable
Mike you're the best ! I lived the same thing when I was 20. It's like you walked me through my past step by step. I broke a few faces in the can. It was the worst and the best thing that happened to me at the time ! The CO's are wack though , I wasn't friends with those corrupt scumbags at all \m/
Wow 😲 I can really relate to this guy.I don’t know how he made it to the UFC but he did and hats off to him. At first I thought he was a punk but after watching this I definitely know he’s legit.
Mike is probably my favorite fighter right now I hope he can get back into title contention because after that Felder fight he should be 2-3 wins away. At least I hope.
Mike Perry is the only fighter I know that can make me watch a 1 hour interview without getting bored! Great stuff!
Same man lol
same lol
Beste Leben same! Dude I wish it was longer!
Same here but if I really think about it there might be 2 or 3 other guys....not much though
Same lol
Mike needs to go on JRE
good idea actually, would love him on rogans
TheDylan067 , I would love to see that !
Noooo Joe even said he needs not to talk lol
Bass player fisher Chill why should he censor himself. Hes being real which is what jre is about
Andrew Cramer just saying that is what Joe said , with him in interviews and post fight talks it was kinda of a joke kind of not prob by Joe
Mike Perry - “praying for it ain’t gonna get it done”
Helwani - “what made you change your beliefs?”
Perry - “I went to Amsterdam and got really high”
😆😂😎
hahahahaha loved that part
Clayton Boren hahaha respect
Seems to me he went to Amazon and tasted some of them herbs there.. This kind of turn you don't get from Amsterdam made..
Dude I literally read this as mike said it lmao!! Perfect timing and what a great quote

I can't believe I just watched an hour long interview without pausing it once. That was incredible, Mike Perry is a treasure. I can't wait for him to get on JRE.

Remarkable. Mike Perry is pure honest, very introspective and aware. Amazing stuff, here.
Huge fan of Mike, good to see him right here.
Great job Ariel!
This was the best interview I've ever seen
POWERFUL MIKE PERRY
I've never sat through a full MMA hour show until today. Mike is the man. Appreciate the realness
Best dude around
Why so? He sounds a bit scummy. What makes him a great person by your view?
At first I thought he was a corn ball, but I'm coming around. The UFC needs some characters and he may fit the bill.
awesome interview!
Postive vibes for this dude
"He's lucky that i didn't hit him with the KILLbow." - Mike Perry HAHAHA
This the best interview yet. I'm always a fan of Perry.
Appreciate Mike's honesty, enjoy watching his fights but i some time's feel he talks the talk but never shows what he's talking about, thats my only issue with him (i guess that's MMA for ya). Gregory Retzepis more power than Tyron Woodley? I didn't think so.
Mike Perry is an interesting character for sure. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do from this point

Did Mike Perry's beard come in during the interview?
Caught myself smiling for the first 10 min straight, fkn love this guy!! He’s pretty good at articulating what he wants to say, surprisingly
He's Transcending. Get it Mike!!
Perry is a real dude, love hearing his honesty and rawness
This was such an amazing interview. I'm so happy to hear him grow as a person. His comments about his relationship with his father was heartbreaking. In the absence of parental guidance to offer structure, support, and love, he learned life lessons by experiencing the harsher punishments that life can offer.
This is still Ariels best guest/interview
Never thought I had much in common with Mike Perry, but damn when he talked about 12 different schools, always moving... that's my life. Even now I live abroad and can't stop moving... how much of a difference Mike Perry would have if he had positive role models and guidance growing up.

Platinum I root for this down to earth guy good interview
Mike you're top and on a great path - your minds in the right place - we're rooting for you brother

I'm a fan of Jouban, he's a great guy, but he ran from Perry the entire fight after Perry cracked him lol. Jouban did land a sweet head kick on him while playing matador though.

Troubled youth, turned professional fighter in the UFC getting paid stacks of cash! Mad respect. 💯
Awesome interview. Mike Perry's the real deal. Hope he wins so he can go the studio to speak his mind a little more.
Just 25min in. And this my favorite Ariel interview. Or any Ufc fighter interview for that matter.
I respect his loyalty but I would like to see Mine Perry go to a more established camp. I believe top notch coaching could really help his game. This dudes so marketable

Wow 😲 I can really relate to this guy.I don’t know how he made it to the UFC but he did and hats off to him.
At first I thought he was a punk but after watching this I definitely know he’s legit.
Woodley should take notes, and watch this and learn not to force people to try to like him and just be him self like Perry
so honest
Everybody here fell in love with mike perry../ same bums hating on dude when he joined the ufc..gtfoh!
drillmusicordie Lol.

Mike Perry is dude who's trying. Fair play to him #respect
Damn, relate to this guy so much. My parents used to move me around so much and was terrified of my abusive dad.
Mike is probably my favorite fighter right now I hope he can get back into title contention because after that Felder fight he should be 2-3 wins away. At least I hope.
