My school calls No School November which is fine by me since my birthdays coming very soon! I’m so excited and my mom because hers is just 3 days before mine. I've been sewing for years and I have watched a lot of tutorial videos, yours is easily the easiest I've encountered to follow. No excessive talking, great visuals and verbal directions. Well done you 👏
Nice tutorial! Instead of hand sewing the open closed at the end, I pulled it through the zipper hole, used my sewing machine, then tucked it pack into place.

So cute! And a couple tips: when lifting the presser foot in any way, keep your needle down in the fabric so that it doesn't mess up the stitches, and when putting the elastic in, use a baby safety pin to thread the scrunchie.
Just yesterday I was thinking to myself, I want a scrunchie. But they are SO expensive in stores! I have my solution... 😉 Thanks Megan!!!

could't you just flip it out through the zipper and then sew the ends together with the machine? that's a lot easier
That's what I want to know, too, because I'm already too lazy/don't have enough time to make a bunch of these and finish with a hidden stitch. One opening with the zipper would be great if it's possible.

OMG I love this idea so much I love scrunchies a lot I use these more in top of a my hair cuz it does not pull my hair and I have a lot of hair...and the good part is that they're stretchy and you could use some how many times you want they last so long.. Thank you very much for that good idea I luv it..... Maybe I will ask one of my family members to make some or I will do it my self i have a little shewing machine and I have lots of fabric too so th k u very much I appreciate it

This might be a dumb question but can I use the same sized zipper if I make the scrunchie a little wider?
Can you cut a real scrunchie at the seam and use fabric glue or sew a zipper? Idk I don’t have money o get fabric so I’m trying to figure out what I can do from home

No, the elastic within will take care of that!
You can also use hot glue if you can’t sew :)

Does the width absolutely have to be 4 inches?
Anything smaller than 4 inches is too skinny, unless that's what you want. I'd also strongly suggest using stretchy fabric, not cotton quilting fabric in that case because turning them inside out will be hard. When I cut scrunchies, I do 4.25 and it makes them the perfect size.

I feel like a step was missed on how to enclose both ends of the zipper when sewing the long edge. Both the zipper ends at exposed beyond the seam I wish I could post a picture to show you
