You are right, it is cabaret. I don't love the song either, but I think it is what the Olympics invited her to sing. Gaga actually sings a lot of old Jazz music, because of her collab with Tony Bennett. She just finished a vegas residency where she sang all old jazz songs. Her voice shines in that genre.
haha buddy, yeah its quite a bit different from her squealing "swine" in raverclothes halfnaked .... but it shows what a range she has. the performance was recorded 2 hours before airing because they knew it would rain and it was too dangerous to dance on a wet stairs (and feathers dont work when wet). talking feathers, the feather pom poms are originals from moulin rouge archive 80 years old)... i love other gaga stuff more but it was a nice performance...

Thank you for sharing.
the choice of song was imposed on her! me being French I would have preferred “la vie en rose” which she has been singing for 10 years now
Ah ok, I thought she was the one who chose it but I guess it makes more sense the other way around.
but two Piaf songs would look/sound repetitive
Excelente como siempre, una presentación , talento, y respeto , un lujo tenerla ❤
