When we arrived, we were informed that the room type we selected (the basic room) was sold out, so we were placed in this Jr. Suite at no cost. While it was a very nice room, it was a bit awkward for a family since it was clearly aimed at couples, honeymooners, etc. The hotel itself was stellar. Follow me on:

That's good! The last time I remember staying at a hotel was 2003, we stayed at the Comfort Inn in Fort McHenry Maryland, and that place was an absolute dump! (It was built in 1969!) It was falling apart, the room wasn't that clean, there were leaves and hair all over the floor, and our room had a cracked window!
Been there and loved it!!!
I personally don't like that jacuzzi tub because it makes the room a bit cramped. That little window in the bathroom is just silly, they should've walled it up.
My family has owned two weeks here since 1980. The owners rooms are not as fancy. But we have a kitchen.
As usual, great room tour. I enjoy the Mexico hotel videos. Now, for the scented candle. I'll give you one guess why it's lit for you at night and why it smells good. I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist saying that. ;)
I have stayed in a Holiday Inn room that had that type of bathtub right in the bedroom, but it had a single king bed instead of 2 queens. It also had a living room attached to it with a door that you could shut, plus the living room came with its own bathroom ( including a shower). the window that looks into the shower is a first. Did the hotel give you anything that you could cover the window up with?
I watched this video again and actually after the second time I watched I don't really know what I was complaining about in the other comment. I now can see why you say that it is one of the nicest hotels that you ever stayed in. It is really nice. Sure its awkward but i'd take a window in the bathroom over a old crappy bathtub in there. (Going off new video)

I’m planing to go next month and I just want to know the different if you know, about ocean from and ocean view, I mean it’s a ocean view really far from beach ?
the peephole covers are pointless because the peephole only lets you see out from inside and not the other way.
what was the door next to the hottub for? and the mirror on the wall oposite the beds also looked like it opened?
You only have 1 video record in Mexico on March 2013. how come you not record more video in Mexico and upload it. Are you coming back to Mexico to upload some more video.
What's the exact name of this resort? How was the rest of the resort? The food?
Great review! Luv the room despite some of the weird features. This was on my list of hotels to stay at in Cancun!

Beautiful room, beside the strange window for the bathroom.
The toilet's with the 2 flushes are very common in Europe, what brand was it? Was it a Geberit tank and a Laufen toilet? Because it looks very much like this two brands for Switzerland.

No way that is the Royal Sands, because every room here looks outdated with a flashback to the Wonder Years. An Old Motel feel from the Movies.
GrandPa Gamer Well if you read the title you will see that it’s not The Royal Sands. It’s The Royal Cancun. And if it looks dated it’s because it was built 40 years ago. You don’t come here to hang out in the room anyway.

That looks nice. But honestly I have liked some of the other hotel's that you did better then this one. Like you said it was better aimed at couple's not actual familys.(Like the hot tub) The bathroom was a little goofy too. And the hamock was really odly placed. So I guess I would say this hotel is real nice but a bit on the akward side as well. Maybe its just not my style.

Yea its cool , but I worked there selling timeshare and it was one of the worse jobs in my life .
