I started playing Rocket League about a month after it came out in August 2015. Eventually I discovered then-called JHZER's videos and got super into learning how to freestyle. After a while I joined my first team called Hexicon as a freestyler in around July 2016 and later Pulse in September 2016. My style has changed a bunch over time, nowadays I really enjoy playing mutators along with freestyling with my friends. I'm not huge into competitive but I find that fun as well. Rocket League is a cool game.

Listen guys… you can’t tell me this isn’t Henry danger
So strictly from an observational standpoint, you have to consider these variables:
1. Boost amount
2. Contact with the ball
3. Distance from net (momentum is lost from farther away but if too close you can't reach terminal velocity)
4. In training vs in game (or game mode in general)
5. Whether or not the opponent is playing defense
6. Your overall experience & consistency with ground pinches
7. Your mental state in the moment (90% of the game is half-mental)
8. Hitbox being used
9. Mutator settings
10. Frame rate & internet performance
something I noticed, is that it goes faster if the ball is in the air before you touch the ground, although if you hit the ball too close to the top, it goes slower.
