If I have 1password installed on two machines will I be able to use same key pair on both the machines? In other words does the private key go to 1password servers or stays only on the desktop application?
Great question! SSH keys in 1Password get synced down to each device where you're logged in to, just like your passwords, credit cards, secure documents, or other items in your 1Password vault. But the decrypted private key will never leave the local 1Password process, so won't be stored locally on disk nor on the 1Password servers.
@@onkarruikar You can already use different keys per device by editing your SSH config, but there's no way to externally enforce that and the keys will still be synced, so that may not be what you're looking for.

@@floris1p I see. It would be even better if only one key pair is allowed per device. Or opt in setting to have such restriction.
