That St Kilda team around 2009/10 really deserved to win a grand final. Poor blokes and poor Ross Lyon.
They had a solid forward and defense, but just needed more class in the middle.

I don't feel bad for Ross Lyon at all. He made St Kilda play such an ugly style of football, which made them unwatchable. They were an absolute excitement machine under Grant Thomas and then Ross Lyon sucked all the fun out of watching St Kilda
That goal by Franklin in the 2011 prelim at that time in the game at that moment of the year with that atmosphere was just monumental.

Mate I’m a Carlton supporter but I’ll admit I jumped and screamed as if buddy kicked that goal for Carlton, that’s how huge that goal was. If hawthorn went on to win, that goal would go down in footy folklore
I watched it on the telly (I’m a bombers fan) and almost shat myself when I looked up and saw buddy kicking that goal

When Isaac Smith missed the goal to win the game for the Hawks in 2016, that was one of the most devastating and heartbreaking moments of my life
This just reinforces my bucket list goal of making it to Australia to watch a final/grand final live.

Richmond Sydney 2016, 2019 prelim, Brisbane cats miracle on grass, a few North Melbourne games from 2014-15 era, they were good at 2nd half footy. So many to try and recall but that would make an epic video, and that’s just 2010-19. Imagine doing 40 years, the 84 grand final, 2001 Essendon 81 point turnaround comeback against north Melbourne, west coast games in 06, pwoah. So so so many!

Wasn’t an epic game? Was a 15 point win which Fremantle control with momentum all day, cats where jittery asf because they were so scared of embarrassing themselves if they lost their first home final at their venue which they did and hence why they played port at the mcg next week.
@@brendonwatt6098 that's not entirely true, for a start Fremantle went into the first break behind. From that point it was pre close with one of the great finals goals from Stephen Hill sealing the deal. If for example Richmond went to Geelong and pulled off that victory it'd be classed as one of the all time greatest
@@matthewbotica370 what is true is they won and they never seemed shaken where as the cats where all over the joint. All these games were just titans fighting to the bitter end. Geelong didn’t put up a fight. That’s why it didn’t make this video. North Melbourne and Geelong should’ve been straight after north and Essendon though which I thought was one that had to be up there, that was an epic game, reminded ya of the west coast Sydney games where the momentum could change at any moment and who knew how long it would last when it started. That was one of the best games I’d ever seen.

@Jack MADIGAN whoever you go for, please try and deal with losing a game you shouldn't have lost. Try finishing 9th all the time, and then losing an elimination final to a team that finished 9th. Losses like that hurt like a bitch. Ask any Essendon fan about 1999. Ask any Geelong fan about 2008. Still hurts for them, and 2013 still hurts for us

You should’ve had 4 from 2012 though, that honestly what sat in my head in 2015 because I do love hawthorn as a club and I wish they hadve just so collingwood would be rendered mute, or at least their fans. But doggies tiges and hawks I love watching them do there best work and it was a pleasure watching your side show the afl how it’s done, was pure class mate and besides you have that culture to get back and win it or at least a chance every decade so hang tight and glory will come soon enough. Hawks had no right to beat port in that 2014 final, they were all over them in the last quarter. But what the hell happened to Port after that game? They looked like world beaters but then missed finals the next 2 years.

The 2012 Prelim between Hawthorn and Adelaide was decided by the umps, anyone but Hawthorn and Port Adelaide fans can agree with me.
Pretty much any final involving the Hawks had umpiring bias towards the Hawks. Thank God the umps decided to drop their jocks for the doggies in the 2016 semi final instead of Hawthorn, as a Hawks 4peat would've given me aids
Not just every final, every GAME involving them had BS umpiring, although I still agree. Nowadays it’s Collingwood getting severely protected by the umps, which is even worse.
@@jessgrover7352 having Collingwood favoured is the worst part of the AFL right now. Being an umpire in a junior footy league, seeing all those holding the balls go unnoticed in the ANZAC Day gave me hepatitis. Was so obvious that they were Essendon frees, but the umps remembered that Eddie would shout the umps tea if Collingwood won. Can definitely agree it was every match that Hawks got biased, and it made everyone hate them. But seeing my pathetic 2012 Tiges absolutely clobber the top of the table Hawks was so satisfying, as was Richmond clobbering them again in 2013 and managing a 3 goal win over the Hawks in 2015. Was such a pleasure seeing my Tiges use the Hawks as a punching bag whilst they were in their 3peat days
