I was born in Orillia, Ontario too. My parents remembered him singing in the church choir as a teenager. Met him in 1975 and talked about our Mutual hometown. Love his lyrics so descriptive
I can suggest "Lee of Christian Island " 🏝 or "Old Dan's Records " for a more peaceful and fun side of Gordon Lightfoot. Don't get me wrong, he could have played the Dennys Restaurant menu, and I would like it! The song you just did is one of my all-time favorites from anyone. But like diamonds, there are multiple facets to his music. Thank you for playing it.
As a proud Canadian I cannot begin to tell you how much this man's music has meant to me and my family. I saw him several times at Massey Hall in Toronto and he was such a wonderfully creative performer and wordsmith and always left the stage leaving us all more fulfilled. I hadn't seen him perform for many years but for my 65th birthday my two sons and beautiful daughter's-in-law treated me to another Lightfoot performance. He was in his late 70's at that point and he'd definitely lost a step or two and his voice didn't have the full register and rich timbre of his younger days but it was a wonderful moment for me and my family. He was a titan of the music industry, a true troubadour, a master storyteller and I'm so thankful I've been able to enjoy his music for 6 decades. RIP Gordie. This was a very thoughtful, heartfelt and intelligent reaction and I'm now a new subscriber. Cheers from Ontario, Canada!
I have this Gords Gold album I got from a used record bin from record revolution at the Parma town Mall in Cleveland Ohio along ago when I was 19 years old and I still have it,it has lots of great stuff on it, all of it is ✌️❤️ and thank you 🌈
R.I.P. Gordon Lightfoot... he passed away on May 1, age 84. Hi my dear. what a wonderful reaction... I don't know many of his songs, but I liked this one and enjoyed listening to it, just as much as you did. I hope you had a safe trip back from the "other dimension" you felt yourself being in during this wonderful song. Other Gordon Lightfoot songs ? My goodness, there are so meny... Carefree highway, Rainy day people, Sundown... just to mention a few. Would love to see you react to some more of my suggestions, but any other song you upload a reaction video from, will also be worth watching, of course. Hugs and kisses from your dear friend Gerry PS : In your Gabriel Henrique reaction "I have nothing", there are some answers to my comment... meanwhile it's somehow becoming funny to read them.... there are some - let's call them "purists" - who can't stand another opinion than "Gabriel Henrique is the best singer who ever lived and there is nothing and noone who could even come close to him" 😀
R.I.P Mr Lightfoot. Great artist. You may like the group Lighthouse. Song. You and me. I am learning that one right now. I will learn a couple more Lightfoot in memory of a great man. Thank you Cindy. Great reaction.
When he says you can't jump a plane like you can freight train he means you can't sneak aboard without paying. He has no money so he can't take a plane to get home that's why he says the airport keeps him down
I don’t think you’ve played his “ If I Could Read Your Mind “. It’s one of his most personal songs about the breakup of his first marriage……I did see you have played “ If I Could” but that is not the same song.

It cuts even deeper now he's gone. :(
RIP Mr. Lightfoot.
If you want one of his and Canadian history try “ The Canadian Railroad Trilogy”. It is great.
