One of the BEST fishing channels on TH-cam!!! Berkley Fishing Company didn't realize who the Old Fishermen was, but the Charlie Brewer Slider Jig Company did!!! Old Fisherman, you are an amazing fisherman!! Thanks for teaching us how to fish!! Great episode!!
Mr. Steve. I just found your channel today from a friend who watches your channel all the time. He told me on the phone today of your wife's recent passing. I went back and watched the new boat video and saw a beautiful lady with such a happy smile. I just wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss. I to have suffered loss but the memories like that boat video will never go away. Again my condolences and my prayers for you.
All those LARGEMOUTH is UNBELIEVABLE !!! It was hard to believe all those bass were beating the perch to the bait. WHAT A GREAT DAY YOU PUT TOGETHER !!! CONGRATULATIONS !!!
Like several others, I just heard about your wife, Mrs Debra. Sorry and sad for our great loss. You and your sons are in my prayers.. The two of you brought much pleasure through your videos.
I discovered that because I am using a iPad that belonged to my wife, her name appears on my comments. She lost the battle with cancer about a year and a half ago. We had 51 wonderful years together. So, the name. Is Joe Techau, not Carol. I know that life will never be the same for you since the passing of Mrs.Debra. Now you have the task of loving your sons and grand son for the both of you. They need you. Many of your u-tube followers feel like you are an old friend and would say “keep on fishing and loving”. Just a note from my perspective, there is the record in the Bible where the Apostle Peter said, after the death of Jesus, “I am going fishing”. It was there while he was out on the water that he heard words of love and comfort from Jesus whom he missed so much. Praying for you in these very difficult days.
4days ago absolutely caught the biggest magnums big bass and smallmouth. I put it on Facebook. I was in 45ft and absolutely killed it. Caught an 8 1/2 pound bass on 6lb test. Appreciate the tips. They finally paid off. Had a heck of a fish fry for Christmas thanks to your tips. Its a tough lake to fish but but prosperous
I've yet to ever comment on anything yet I have watched everything you have put out. I could tell when you and your wife went fishing you were right where you should be. Keep on fishing Steve. I know she would want that. Love you man.
You certainly got some hogs Sunday didn’t ya. WoW what a day. Charlie Brewer just made another $48 sale on 6 packages of two color 3” sliders. Trust me Charlie Brewer loves the old fisherman as much as your fans do Tight lines my friend
I apologize we accidentally deleted the opening scene of the video. The video started on the second spot. This trip was filmed on Saturday, 12-14-19 after the hard rain we had on Friday. Hope you catch them like The Old Fisherman on the new jigs. Thanks for watching.
Stumbled across your fishing video incidentally. Really enjoy watching and listening to your commentary about life and fishing. I live in Florida close to the well known Kissimmee Chain of Lakes and the Stick Marsh. Although I live in Florida, I was born and raised in Florence S.C. and ended up living in Florida after retiring from the military. Keep posting the videos and catching the fish.
Hey, steve I’ve been watching you for a while now and I heard about miss Debra’s recent passing and I want to send all of my condolences to you and your family. She is with god now, is free from pain and suffering and is watching over you. She will always be with you in spirit. Stay strong Steve!
Unbelievable day of fishing. Wow I've never seen anythinglike this. Amazing how a day of fishing that starts with problems can end like this! You know your fishing for sure. Thanks for sharing with us!
I'm in saltwater with my trolling motor but 24V is really a nice way to go and I'd argue it's worth the investment. I believe mine is 111lb (+/-2 I can't remember exactly) thrust and in heavy current fishing bridges or holding over structure it still holds a 26' boat without fail. It's just a nice system to have running. Great video, I haven't had a bass catching day like that ever. I bet those slider jigs would tear up the Black Sea bass, snapper, etc.
I am sure they will, I never used them bigger jigs until a few mounts ago, Slider Fishing sent me some to try out, that's when I found out that the bigger jigs, the 2 1/8 double action swimming minnow and the 3" grub were so deadly on the bass when I tried them on my rig. I do know that the 24 volt or 36 volt trolling motor is the way to go. I don't have any room in my boat to add another battery without taking my power pole pump out. No more than I use the power pole that might be a option in the future. The Blue top D34 Optima, which has the gray bottom and sides is what I am using now, that's why I was able to last long enough to catch all those bass in high wind conditions without charging my trolling motor for the last trip. Thanks for your comment and for goin on another fishing trip with The Old Fisherman.
Oh My! I bet some of them professional bass anglers are having strokes after this wonderful video 😂😂😂😂 but they see the real pro in action. Steve we have them electronic issues all the time last time out it was the depth on our hummingbird 7 showing depths over 1000, kept turning it off n on no change finally unplugged it and gave it a minute plugged it back in n wham it worked fine. Trolling motors have crap plugs and most boat manufactures don't make the plug in on boats any better so that's why ya have to jiggle them. But if u look at the amount of times you go issue free vs troubles you are pretty lucky. Thanks for allowing us to travel along with you on another great fishing trip! Stay Safe
You are right about the trolling motor plug, o I'm on the third one in less than 2 years. But all in all as much as I use it I guess I'm lucky. Thanks for going on another fishing trip with The Old Fisherman.
That sir is how you turn a bad situation into a great day of fishing. I have never seen anything like it, Nobody catches them like you do! I got some of those jigs/grubs and told them what a great job you’re doing showcasing their product. Now if I can just find’em like you do! That was one heck of a net job on the one that came off!!! -Ed
Hey Ed, that was on the top of the list for one of my best days on the lake Monticello. Glad I was able to share it with all my fans on TH-cam. Glad you were in the boat with me my friend.

Hello old friend! Looks like for all of these years closing off the 1 mile area towards the plant and having the white perch introduced into the lake...the large mouth are exploding and looking healthy. But I really miss the old days when a whole cove would explode with white bass schooling. I hate they are almost non existent. Talk to you later, Hope Miss D is better and you guys have a Merry Christmas......email me ...keep in touch
