If it's not big enough for Mega Projects, I'd love to see an in-depth dive into the Soviet Union moving over 1,500 factories east to avoid German capture...not to mention the 16 million Soviet civilians moved from said areas to run the factories.

@@antoniovillanueva308 The industrialization of the Soviet Union between the wars is really megaprojects worthy. Going from an agrarian Tsardom to a one of the largest manufacturers in the world in such a short time is crazy....crazy bloody, but still impressive.

Explain plz.. Do you mean Iran?
      If yes.. Then search for
      (Fahad) line in mid 80s
Simply.. They don't dare to cross Fahad line.
Iran can't be compared with Germany during World War

Some ideas for Sideprojects or Megaprojects:
    - Mont-Blanc-Tunnel
    - Aiguille du Midi cable car
    - German Autobahn
    - European Power Grid
    - Illwerke - Complex of smaller hydroelectric power plants in Vorarlberg(Austria) region since 1920s
    - USSR bunkers under the cities in East Europe (in general)

if you drive from town ( called Jubail balad) to the other end of the city reaching the Royal Commisssion area, it takes about 20 minutes granted you are driving at an average speed of 100 km/hour, that long stretch in between covers the length of the industrial zone alone. It beautiful to see this area at night; looks like Gotham City in batman.

I worked in Jubail for 6 years under NESMA and Partners. We constructed four projects, the Jubail Export Refinery Complex - Fluid Catalytic Cracker and the Coker (JER - FCC) that is inside the SATORP mentioned in the video, the Nylon 6.6 Conversion Center, the SADARA refinery complex, and the Jubail Bulk Plant for exporting oil and other by-products. Around 5 pm all the refinery’s flares are turned on to burn waste gas before it will exit out to the open air. At night you can literally smell bunt fuel in the air since there are cities of refinery after refinery around the whole area. Great experience, hard but great.

    1. The largest clock in the world is located in Mecca

    3. The largest gas field in the world is called Al-Jafurah, which is located in Saudi Arabia

Also, try and visit during the winter please, summer is in no way fun, you might be able to persevere it but it’d just be unnecessarily torturous. 😅

Being born and raised in this, yeah I can confirm that it is massive. Driving 30 km at 120km per hour and your whole right view is basically factories.
The architecture of the city's neighborhoods and their infrastructure is insane which I haven't seen in any part of the world. Could you imagine streets without manholes? That's Jubail.
The lesson I have learned was that if you have more chefs cooking one meal, itll go bad. Meaning that if you have plots of a city developed by different contractors, designers (the most important) plus gov, what you are going to get is a city that will have bad traffic in the future, over populated etc. which none exists in Jubail since it is controlled by one designer (Bechtel) only.

This is my hometown. The S.Koreans (Hyundai) built the industrial sea port, I believe it was their first project in the region (Note: the head of the S.Korean delegation was thinking of committing suicide in case he didn't win the tender against the Americans). The Royal Commission acts as a mini-government, while SABIC along with other nearby companies are the money box. Unfortunately, SABIC lost %40 of it's value, you also have the Chinese, they literally change the logo color and one letter and flooding the market with fake products.

52,658 tons is.... not very much? E.g. the 10th largest port in the UK, Belfast, did 18.9 million tons in 2018.
Maybe out by a factor of 1000?
