A wide angle is the best for this application because it allows us to see a wider picture, telling us more of a story. This way we can see the shadow of the moon during the eclipse, and we can see the sunlight past the shadow where it ends. We can also see the edge of the horizon and see space as well. All in one picture, whereas with a narrower lens, we would just see a single city on the earth. Unfortunately a GoPro hero 12 is the best camera we could fit for this project, and there’s going to be distortion with the lens on there. I was okay with it because I would rather see more of the earth, even if the geometry was distorted, than to see a smaller section & miss out on the edge of the shadow, space, horizon, and a big chunk of the earth being in the shot.

How is the sun not burning us? Why isn't earth compressing back into a sphere? How do eclipses happen? Why would seasons happen? Why aren't we all dead? Why does the earth cast a SPHERICAL shadow on the moon during lunar eclipses? How stupid are you? The earth is a sphere. The moon doesn't cover half the earth. It covers like 10% of it.

And why? The camera lens bends the image (fish-eye effect) at the top and not at the bottom of the screen? Should they record it as the earth is like real.
I've seen photos of earth from space. It's not flat. It's curved but not entirely round. Oddly semi egg shaped. Know a guy who works high up in the Intel. Saw some pics of space too. It's crazy looking up there. Some ufo pics too in space.
