I use the plastic/vinyl window shade slats. Just snip the strings from the slats and cut em about 6" long. I use a fine felt permanent marker for labeling.
Hello Shannie, I have saved some seeds from my California Wonder Sweet Pepper from last year. Can I use these seeds for this year and are there any tips on starting these seeds? Thank you for all of your help.
From Shannie: That’s so great you saved your own seeds! Provided that they were fully mature when you harvested and they stored properly, you should have no problem germinating them, I suggest you test some seeds on a damp paper towel to see how they sprout before sowing an entire tray of seed. Cross pollination of peppers is possible if you had many varieties in one patch and lots of hungry pollinator action, but as long as they were fairly isolated, you shouldn’t have cross pollination issues. If you’d like to grow more this year to save seed, just be sure to plant more than 5 plants and save seeds from several different plants, this ensures stronger genetics for years to come
Shannon you deserve a raise for all this awesome content! What are you planting that you are excited about besides the snake bean? Bought happy Frog's Ocean Floor x 6 bags yesterday!lol micro tom's are sold out....😟
At five minutes and 18 seconds, you said, "There's lots of other seed companies to check out." What??? I thought you work for Baker Creek. With all of the varieties to choose from in their catalog, why would you mention that?
Deborah Nelson, the heirloom seed industry is a super friendly business and we like to promote our fellow seed companies and friends as well as our own company! I suggest you check out Hudson Valley Seed Library, TrueLove Seeds, Southern Exposure Seeds and so many more! Some seed companies offer regionally adapted seeds, some are not for profit, some grow all of their seed on site! There is no need to just order from one company, and each of us has our own specialty!
@@RareSeedsBC I love the video. Lots of great information. Helpful process. Beautiful flowers. I just didn't know if you realized what you said. I know Baker Creek is very involved with other seed companies with an eye to preservation of varieties.

What time is it according to the rooster? Ha.
80 degrees celsius or fahrenheit
Farenheit
80 Celsius would be 176 Fahrenheit - sure hope it doesn’t get that hot! Lol
