1. Better priced DLC. Nobody wants to pay $10-$12 for one new wrestler or one new arena. WWE 2K gives us our money's worth. We get around five wrestlers for around $10. 2. No buying multiple season passes every time something new gets released. If a person has one season pass, it should be for all new releases.
Trying to say 2k did anything better is laughable. They made you pay for characters from one year to the next just cause you'd buy it and did! But let's hear how you're unhappy with a year 1 company game again.
not to forget they also need to add the customization of match types/options like turning dq off/on, adjusting the time on matches, interferences on/off & etc
Honestly the gameplay itself was fine, but the lack of half the roster (even a lot of the popular wrestlers at the time), a lot of missing match types, a boring career mode, and an awful customization is what killed this game from the get go. However, the biggest insult to injury is that people who bought the Elite Edition only got season 1, and nothing else from the newer seasons. Devs got lazy and greedy and ruined the game before it could even take off. They could make a good sequel if they were to take the gameplay from Fight Forever and just add on top of that 1. Fix The AI and Small Things - Fix the AI and get a better system for kicking out and adding something for when you are getting thrown out in a casino match 2. Having a Lot of Match Types On Release - Steel cage/hell in a cell, tornado tag, handicap, playing lights out/barbed wire outside of 1on1, first blood, falls count anywhere, backstage brawl, etc. 3. Having a Bigger, More Complete, Roster on Release - With up to date attires/gimmicks, and also making sure that some of the most popular people in the company are in the game when it releases 4. Fixing The Customization of Arenas and Characters - Maybe with something similar to what WWE games have now, but a very big emphasis on character customization. Also adding a community hub (Why has this not even been added to the first game?) 5. Adding a More Flushed Out Career or Other Mode - Either make a long career mode where our own choices affect what PPVs they attend, what matches they are in, and who they are feuding with. Or give us something that goes from the beginning of AEW and goes along the biggest moments they have had or it follows a few different feuds 6. Stop Being So Stingy With The DLC - I understand Edge, Jay White, Mercedes Moné, Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, Mark Briscoe, etc. becoming DLC or not being in the game, but why are people that have been in the company and gotten over before the game came out DLC or not still not even in the game? (Keith Lee, Acclaimed w/ Billie Gunn, Swerve Strickland, Jamie Hayter, Austin and Colten Gunn, Claudio, Samoa Joe, Toni Storm, Saraya, etc.) 7. More Playable Characters/Legends - This game only had a few unlockables (Paul White, Owen Hart, Cody Rhodes, Aubrey Edwards, Brodie Lee) but so many legends have signed with AEW or are still working with them and could be unlockables in the next game. (Billie Gunn, Dean Malenko, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Mark Henry, Taz, Bret Hart, Gangrel, Raven) All in all, this game is barebones and was way over priced. The devs need to listen to the community if they ever think about putting a sequel on the drawing board.
The foundation is there for a good game. Development wise they did the hardest thing to do which was start creating from the ground up. No existing engine, self funded etc. The problem came when they needed to reach out to a big publisher (THQ Nordic hasn’t been reliable literally since the N64) & once Yukes got involved. Then we got the game that we were told it wasn’t going to be: Smackdown vs Raw 2006.
I love your endless optimism, Simon, but this game is hot garbage, and 'different modes take a lot of work', or 'they'll build on this next time' isn't an acceptable excuse from any other full price AAA game, and it's less of an excuse for one that gave a wrestler with no dev experience a sizeable chunk of creative control.
You forgot something crucial Simon. Its the main reason i stopped playing. Let you edit your CAWs stats without RTE mode. You can only improve your CAWs through rte which is annoying and tedious once when you want to create several people and expand your roster plus lots of moves are locked behind skills you have to unlock like springboard and mutiple finishers. Currently on wwe you can gives CAWs any and every move. Several finishers. And change their stats at will. While at the same time take a CAW thru career to grind and make him better. Im all for career modes with rpg style gameplay you improve your character but in my wrestling/sports games i also want to make op characters for fun and addition characters with accurate stats without doing career mode each time
I can tell the ones involved with the Steve Jobs sweater announcement had a VERY different idea of what they wanted with the game. I was worried when Omega started to distance himself from talking about the game the closer it got to what they consider the “alpha” trailer releases.

Brother, I don't know how to tell you but there isn't going to be a Fight Forever 2. There's like 7 people online playing. A month after release there was only like 50. He can't be dumb enough to invest in a game again.
I jus got the game thru PlayStation plus and honestly if you are coming from playing wwe 2k the game is a big step down all the way across the board but if you can look past that and have patience to learn how to play I think it could be a enjoyable experience

It's simple I want a full wrestling game. What do I mea? Full entrances. I played wrestling games for more then 20 years and this was the first time a saw one without a full entrance. 6 player modes like 3v3. Modes that should have been easely made in the game like a submission mode or a I quit mode. A cage mace. A backstage brawl match. Some kind of Universe mode where you can play a weakly show. A improved creation suit with online COW downloads. A better pin and submission system without button mashing. And finaly a full roster on release. Essentially what I want is WWE2k14(their last game) with a AEW skins
Ragdoll physics I wish would be added to there game or wwe2k,that is what is missing in most wrestling’s games now, it’s boring seeing the same move animation without it being different everytime
I just want them to fix the match gameplay system. Like a timed kickout that requires skill, not luck. And not being impossible to kickout after 1 finisher. I can't have the matches I watch on TV, and to me that's a bad thing.
None of this besides match types will fix the biggest issue for me and that’s how shallow every character feels and how unfun the gameplay is movesets are weak and once you’ve played it for 10 minutes everything past that feels the same

With regards to an online mode for a wrestling game, I've had this one idea for a while that I'd like to see. How's this: Online GM Mode / Promotor Mode - This will probably work better in WWE2K than AEW... but... with the creation suites available we can create an entire show with our own logos, stages, rings etc. Imagine, if you will, you create and schedule your own show, pick your friends to wrestle the matches. The show is then available online for people to watch and give a rating. As a reward you'll get some kind of point system which you could then use to create a leader board for the best fan-created shows. You and your buddies could get together and create your own ECW and compete against everyone else's ECW to be the best ECW. Or, say I take my created wrestler and I go around and wrestle at a bunch of different shows, and someone could follow me to see what shows I wrestle at. Promotors could then bid on my participation using the points they've acquired from their shows, and then those points go towards my ranking as an online wrestler. You could play the mode as a promotor trying to get the best guys and put on the best show possible, or you could just play as a wrestler trying to make a name for yourself.
Ive been obsessively playing the wwe 2k games, and I tried fight forever recently when it dropped for free on the playstation, its bad compared to 2k24. I get its going for those old THQ style games, but it's damn near unplayable compared to 2k. This isn't promotion bias either, I watch AEW, some GCW, some MLW, and Stardom, it's just really no where near what 2k24 has going for it. 2k plays better, the creation suite is night and day, has way more playable wrestlers, and it looks a lot better. I think if they make a sequel, they're gonna have to improve on a lot, and I honestly don't think they should really even bother if AEW isn't ready to splash out some serious money on a different developer.
AEW would be insane to make a second on right now when the game made almost no profit and is a broken, nearly unplayable mess. It would be just another useless money sink. When the game is being sold at Walmart for less then 4 bucks only a year after being out, it's not a success.
1. THQ Nordic & Yukes cannot be involved in the next game. Find the folks still at Syn Sophia aka AKI Corporation who still have copyright to the No Mercy engine hopefully, create your own new studio just for them if you have to. 2. Publish the game themselves. WB Games, THQ, EA, all of them will prioritize more microtransactions & greed over delivering a quality product. 3. At minimum, No Mercy gameplay options. Even if this makes the control scheme feel like it took a step back. The lack of match customization was pretty atrocious. No tornado tag when that has been a staple of wrestling games since 1995 is inexcusable. 4. CAW. Older games with way better create a character options while this creation suite was easily the most disappointing part of this game.
I can't buy a 2. I won't buy DLC. I gave them $100 for a barebones game that's seen minimal improvement. 2K24 is the best wrestling game (IMO) since the 64 days. AEW had the chance to kill the yearly money grab that 2K pulls but just did it a different way. Haven't played it at all since 2K was released.
And the funny part is aew ended being the money grab. Bad enough they charged full price for a beta. Then they turn around and charge you for wrestlers, caw parts, old game modes that should’ve already been in the game. Soulless cash grab !

It's a dreadful game. If they try this again, no DLC, a proper season mode, don't release it as a broken mess and fix the difficulty so you need more than one button to easily beat yout opponent on the hardest setting whilst blindfolded
I wont call it a good game. It's a FUN game. It's not complicated and you can play with your kids. And yeah no, they did asked full price for a quarter roster. Which AEW wasn't behind but the game developers. AI I agree that would be awesome of they as a team help each other, or maybe you can break them up and team with the other or something. Career mode, this is a game whos more Arcade, they said that from the start. GM Mode they have a full mobile gm game already, that's why its not in this game.

Match types, a better more in dept story mode, customization, BACKSTAGE AREA, in crowd fighting, no mino games. Don't waste time, money, and resources on stupid sxxt a wrestling game does NOT need. The gameplay, the weapon types, the blood, fighting around the ring, the move variety and impact was all great and nearly perfect. The problem was never gameplay.
The first one flopped so badly it lost over $20M. No one is playing it now because of how bad it is. If Tony is stupid enough (of course he is) to fork out all that money, and then some, on a sequel, he deserves to lose money of it. AEW is in a worse place right now financially than WCW was in 2000. People are tuning out in droves. People aren't buying tickets to see them. One of their new executives just bashed the city and arena they had just worked in over stuff that is THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF AEW and not the building.

AEW said during development that the game will be constantly updated over time with things being added changed etc, so there won't actually be a sequal game at any point.

This isn't promotion bias either, I watch AEW, some GCW, some MLW, and Stardom, it's just really no where near what 2k24 has going for it. 2k plays better, the creation suite is night and day, has way more playable wrestlers, and it looks a lot better. I think if they make a sequel, they're gonna have to improve on a lot, and I honestly don't think they should really even bother if AEW isn't ready to splash out some serious money on a different developer.
I want WWE2k14 (their last game) with a AEW skin. It's still arcade gameplay more on everything. Matches, roster, creation suit, gameplay, game modes
AEW would be insane to make a second on right now when the game made almost no profit and is a broken, nearly unplayable mess. It would be just another useless money sink. When the game is being sold at Walmart for less then 4 bucks only a year after being out, it's not a success.

1. THQ Nordic & Yukes cannot be involved in the next game.
Find the folks still at Syn Sophia aka AKI Corporation who still have copyright to the No Mercy engine hopefully, create your own new studio just for them if you have to.
2. Publish the game themselves. WB Games, THQ, EA, all of them will prioritize more microtransactions & greed over delivering a quality product.
3. At minimum, No Mercy gameplay options. Even if this makes the control scheme feel like it took a step back. The lack of match customization was pretty atrocious. No tornado tag when that has been a staple of wrestling games since 1995 is inexcusable.
4. CAW. Older games with way better create a character options while this creation suite was easily the most disappointing part of this game.

I can't buy a 2. I won't buy DLC. I gave them $100 for a barebones game that's seen minimal improvement. 2K24 is the best wrestling game (IMO) since the 64 days. AEW had the chance to kill the yearly money grab that 2K pulls but just did it a different way. Haven't played it at all since 2K was released.
And the funny part is aew ended being the money grab. Bad enough they charged full price for a beta. Then they turn around and charge you for wrestlers, caw parts, old game modes that should’ve already been in the game. Soulless cash grab !

Enjoy AEW, but sadly this game was'nt great. Was hoping for a more inbetween arcade/sim style, but for me it was too arcade side.

full entrances aren't a waste of time, the lack of full entrances cost them less 60 bucks and i bet there's more that looked at aew ff and went the other direction, point is why would i buy a game thats less than another game?
It's a dreadful game. If they try this again, no DLC, a proper season mode, don't release it as a broken mess and fix the difficulty so you need more than one button to easily beat yout opponent on the hardest setting whilst blindfolded
Was the game even a success to warrant a sequel? Even fans gave up on the game and there's literally 5 players left playing the game on steam.

Career mode, this is a game whos more Arcade, they said that from the start.
GM Mode they have a full mobile gm game already, that's why its not in this game.
The entrances not being there is a huge problem, and they could have fixed it w all the bs "updates". Also, the game just isn't very fun. I didn't pay for the first one and I won't buy the next one.

I have physical copy so I can hold the biggest pos in wrestling history in my hands and yes this is worse than the shockmaster AEW ppv are the best but this game is so bad wwe22 is better by a lot

I agree. I play on the switch and this runs way better than 2k. So it’s not perfect, but it’s almost there. Would like them to expand on creat a wrestler parts, costumes championship, and ways to effect the roster in road to elite

Match types, a better more in dept story mode, customization, BACKSTAGE AREA, in crowd fighting, no mino games. Don't waste time, money, and resources on stupid sxxt a wrestling game does NOT need. The gameplay, the weapon types, the blood, fighting around the ring, the move variety and impact was all great and nearly perfect. The problem was never gameplay.

The first one flopped so badly it lost over $20M. No one is playing it now because of how bad it is. If Tony is stupid enough (of course he is) to fork out all that money, and then some, on a sequel, he deserves to lose money of it. AEW is in a worse place right now financially than WCW was in 2000. People are tuning out in droves. People aren't buying tickets to see them. One of their new executives just bashed the city and arena they had just worked in over stuff that is THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF AEW and not the building.

AEW said during development that the game will be constantly updated over time with things being added changed etc, so there won't actually be a sequal game at any point.
By constant updates they meant over charging for wrestlers who should’ve been in the game and making people wait months at a time for each.
