Me snd my son mom saw you when played at Chicago before 2 years ago.. she passed away this January and i know she would of love you new album. I play the bass guitar and i learned all yours songs for her.. I just hope you see this comment and know that you help me through it all 💯
I had the pleasure of opening some of Ivan's shows last year and I will forever keep that positive experience in my heart. They are all so down to earth and am so glad that light is being shed on incredible Mexican artists like him.
thing that makes me enjoy Ivan's music is that not only he plays corridos tumbados but he blends acoustic alt R&B music, which I enjoy so much. It hits the soul man
Todas son iguales, y nosotros creemos que podemos poner nuestra lealtad y amor en un ser que pende de lo más inestable, las emociones. Ahora a escribir
Love Ivan Cornejo and his music! Especially "Baby Please" and "Mirada" it made me cry lowkey... So beautiful! His band plays so good and the electric guitarist plays beautifully! So cool!
Su más reciente álbum me parece una muy agradable escucha y verlo desempeñarse tan bien en Tiny Desk es genial. Sin duda unos grandes Ivan y sus colaboradores en esta sesión.
Ivan’s voice is truly one-of-a-kind, blending the soulful depth of smooth jazz with the edge and energy of alternative rock. His sound feels like an experience-rich and mellow in one moment, then raw and electrifying in the next. This combination creates a texture that’s both timeless and modern, making each song feel like it transcends genres. Ivan’s voice resonates in a way that sticks with you, drawing you in with its warmth and intensity. There’s something captivatingly unique about his style-it’s like he’s reinventing familiar sounds into something completely fresh and “bonifico,” leaving a lasting impression that feels both comforting and thrilling.
We as human species should be proud of how humans are able to get together so uniquely and create sound art, there so much behind an artist voice and this video shows it so well, been listening to ivan since around 2021 with his sierreño style but been a fan of all his music
I don’t speak Spanish but Ivan’s voice & music has stuck with me ever since I first discovered him despite not knowing the words he was singing at the time. That’s how you know he’s such a remarkable artist his art transcends even language barriers. I wish him nothing but the best in his career & I’ll be a faithful listener as long as he keeps blessing us with his beautiful music. 🔥🫶🏽
I love that Tiny Desk had Ivan!👏🇲🇽 I love his music and loved the live spin to his songs!😭 It was a beautiful 22:13 video! Can’t wait to see him at the Mirada Tour stop in LA🥲
Thank you Guys for this , I’m dealing with a lot of Relationship issues, But Forever Greatful For y’all’s Continued Dedication to having Such Therapeutic Artists, hands down one of the Best Tiny Desk performance.
Loved this.. might even be one of my absolute favorite Tiny Desk performances. Not sure, I'm gonna listen a couple more times and make up my mind, but it actually got me to thinking.. I asked myself exactly which performances I believed to be better than this one. Here's what immediately came to mind: -My all time favorite is Vic Chesnutt's performance, he OD'd and died less than a month afterwards. He genuinely looks like a man in great pain and at the end of his rope, but the performance itself was superbly emotive and full to the brim with sincerity and life. Equal parts beautiful and haunting. If this performance doesn't move you, you are 100% soulless, lol.. -Mac Miller's performance was another close-to-perfect one, imho.. he too would OD and die about a month or so after this performance. Horribly sad, he was only 26 years old. Didn't get nearly enough respect for his legit ability to play + record live instruments and even produce / engineer. An absolute prodigy that we lost far too soon. -U2.. this one was a huge surprise, at least to me. Not only was it crazy that they agreed to do it in the first place, what's even crazier is how well they understood the assignment. Absolutely nailed it. I wouldn't even consider myself to be a U2 fan to be honest, but these stripped down / re-imagined versions of a few of their hits were seriously fantastic. They even brought in a local choir of teens / young adults from the inner city to collaborate and perform with them! I'm telling you, it was ABSOLUTELY beautiful. -Juvenile w/ Manny Fresh. The backstory leading up to the performance is hilarious and the performance was honestly spectacular. Another case of an artist you would not expect to do a Tiny Desk Concert absolutely KILLING IT. Definitely understood the assignment. -King Krule. The performance itself was pretty straightforward, but what made it so special (at least in my eyes) was the sheer authenticity. Their music is not accessible. It is challenging. Many first-time listeners are immediately turned off by Archie's vocals and all of the jazz chords. Huge mistake too, because their music is some of the most rewarding material I've heard in over 2x decades. They didn't come in and pander to the listeners / audience either; King Krule came in to promote their newest album and that's exactly what they did. What made the performance so amazing was how well the material translated in the small, intimate environment. It was absolutely mesmerizing from start to finish. They subsequently made a huge number of new fans based on this performance. Sorry for typing a novel here, lol.. I just genuinely thought it was interesting to consider. *What do you guys think? Which performances am I forgetting about?*
Ivan was with me in a very dark time (musically) when I felt so down, reminding me of home, when in one of his music videos he is cruising through the coast line of California. During that time I felt so out of place stuck in Florida. I envisioned myself in California listening to Cornejo. I’m home now ❤ - Navy Vet
