Origins of doomguy: he punched some officer and got sent to Mars because of it. Meanwhile experiments with hell artifacts happened and everyone were dead except doomguy and he decided to kill these demons that came. Later he got back to earth and same thing there. Then Doom 64 happened which story was basically "some demon was ressurecting demons you slayed. Go kill it" and doomguy stayed in hell and was killing even more demons during this time. This is the origins i knew for years

@@iswearimnotmax7857 With Eternal, we now know the classic Doom games are 2016 and Eternal's prequels, they're are in the same timeline, but 2016 and Eternal's Earth is in another dimension from the Earth Doomguy comes from. Or Earth is still Earth and they somehow forgot Hell invaded 100 years before. I'm not sure if Eternal answers that question.
So Argent denure is just another dimension in the doom/quake universe that the doom guy randomly stumbled upon between the old games and doom 2016? That’s a nice way to tie everything together and opens up the possibility of future quake games involving the argent civilization back at its peak but we all know that’s never gona happen

If you've beaten Eternal, you'll remember the Khan Maykr warning you that by releasing the Icon of Sin and killing her, you've upset the natural balance, potentially allowing Hell to rampage unchecked. They've been defeated for now, but it's likely the Dark Lords will not rest. Beyond that, what's the deal with the Father, and with VEGA? Hayden knows more than he lets on, as well. There's also the giant un-armored Maykr in Urdak where you drain the pool.

No, we still would have. Daisy was one of the many casualties but even if she survived Doomguy still would’ve fought to get back Earth
The doomguy was prophesied to become the slayer and the slayer was prophesied to destroy all evil and even the maykers as they became evil. There’s a higher power than the maykers, the father who actually gifted the maykers heavenly and godly powers. However in a codex entry it’s stated that the disappearance of the father was due to A seraphim. The specific seraphim was not named, however I theorise that the blessing of the seraphim to the doomguy actually give him the powers of the father. Thus making the doomguy/slayer the father himself and that’s why the father disappeared as his Essence was transferred to the PROPHESIED Slayer.

Two things really puzzled me, the mysterious voice that cried out as the Khan Maykr died and most importantly the words from VEGA as the portal rings aligning for our escape "am I the father, Dr. Hayden?"

Oh yes, VEGA is Makyr's Father after all, so Hayden took Vega and transplanted it into a terrestial computer (Vega Core). Whe he is connected again to the Makyr's network, he becomes self aware of what he was before.
But after this, we don't remove him or we don't know what happens after. Probably he is going to help you with Makyr tech in the next doom game...who knows!

Pay attention to the portals you go through spawned by VEGA and subsequently Samuel Hayden. VEGA's are blue, Hayden's are red (and the Marauder is spawned in by a red portal...). S. Hayden = Shayden = Satan. VEGA is the Father, the benevolent guiding voice (God). Vega also means "the brightest star", or "the meadow" (Paradise).

The seraphim said the exact same thing when he gifted the slayer with his powers as Samuel Hayden did in doom 2016 when he gave him some argent energy to upgrade the suit.
Seraphim: " I offer you a gift, take it it will give you strength, Help you on your journey. Samuel Hayden: "take it it's a gift it will give you strength if you can survive the surge". One can say that the seraphim was always with us hiding in plain sight. For me DOOM has some of the greatest lore I've ever seen in gaming and will stick with me for a long time to come, there's just so much to dig through and so little that is yet to be revealed.

@@StrifePKK It's actually Samur. But I get it, my personal theory is that Samuel died. The "corpse" is taken over by Samur in the fortress when the body merges with the fortress. Samuel even talks in a way that shows a bit of distance. He says "your people" instead of humans. He has in depth knowledge of the makyrs and hell despite having no way of learning about it.
Maybe he was always the seraphim and the reason he was pushing for the use of argent energy in the DOOM 2016 story is because he's pushing his own agenda?
Basically The official Doom is Doom 1, 2, 64, 4, and Eternal.
Then where would 3 take place?
Titan Tohka if you think about it doom 3 could take place within the first game, the protagonist isn’t the doom slayer but a random marine who happen to be lucky to survive off the hordes of hell.
Titan Tohka I personally think that Doom 3 takes place in a parallel universe. Similar to how 1-64 takes place in a separate earth than the one from Doom 2016 and Eternal.

Then the question is why Seraphim help DoomGuy? Since he is also Maykr, so he must know the plan and origin of Argent enegy all along, so why he oppose the Khan Maykr? Is he gaining any benefit from this or just good by nature? If Dr.Hayden is the same person(?) as Seraphim, he must know the effect of that energy and should refuse it, not steal Crucible from doom slayer at the end of doom2016 and use it (not to mention warp him away too).
It's actually wonderful to see people in these comments care about the lore of Doom. I remember getting Ultimate Doom one Saturday when my father and I went to microcenter, and I read the manual on the way home which had the story. It made me appreciate the game a lot more, and I was happy to see that expanded on over the years, regardless of which timeline it is.
Doom Guy is the John Wick equivalent of Doom. The demons killed his pet rabbit Daisy, so now all of them must die.
I was just thinking of this. A puppy’s death caused the downfall a entire assassin underground, a bunny’s death caused the Bane of Hell for the multiverse to exist.

I love the story. I've read every codex entry, watched couple of videos about lore on youtube, but I haven't heard anything about the mysterious voice, that says ,,noooo!" After you kill khan maykr. Is there something I've missed? Who is the mysterious voice? If you know, please make the video about it, or mention him/her in one of your videos. I'll be hoping I'll find some information about the voice in your videos.

samuel hayden is a human and he used that robot body bwcause he got a deadly form of cancer, he was even implied to have a romantic relationship with olivia pierce since he used to her university proffesor long ago.
what what This is incorrect. Doctor Samuel Hayden in the doom lore was a human with cancer who transferred himself into a robot to live on. You can also clearly see tentacles at the bottom of the hooded figure which the other maykrs have too. Voice actors will often voice multiple roles in a project doesn’t mean they are the same character. Just look at other Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout they have the same voice actor voice many different characters that doesn’t mean they are all the same character.

@@skyj451 I think that he is filled with a righteous fury. A rage that is born of a disgust for evil. Not just a blind rage or an uncontrollable blood lust, if that was the case, the Doom Slayer would murder absolutely everything in sight. The night sentinels would have also felt the bite of his steel barreled sword if he were just a madman bent on destruction, I believe the character to be so much deeper than that.
Doom guy yes, however after the divinity machine, he gained the strength and speed to match his will. In a way it makes him a god. He is the essence of humanity but with the ability to draw upon sheer willpower to increase his strength. This gives him nearly limitless power because he has limitless hatred for demons.
Thanks for putting it all together. We really appreciate that, I could not fathom how the Marauders came to be if they used to be Sentinels.

The ARC personnel who watch over the crucible and Samuel Hayden on Earth said this line that is really connecting that the robotic structure is quite alien.
And if you piece some of the lines from Doom 2016 where Samuel said Take it, its a gift to help you on your Journey and it’s similar to Samur’s as DoomSlayer goes to the chamber where he gets his superhuman powers.

He was annoyed by the slayer’s plans to stop the use of Argent Energy for Earth, at the same time he told him about the Makyr’s world Urdak is dying and in need of Argent Energy similar to Earth.

I think it was Commander Valen (I.E. The Betrayer) as it shows his materials in the place where the Slayer meets him. Clearly the Betrayer was once the Knight Sentinel forgemaster.

That's the point, Doomguy was always modeled after Ash. The original boxart is taken from Army of Darkness. The glory kill on the Cacodemon is from Evil Dead part 2. They were not subtle about it at all.

You can actually find a brown rabbit hidden throughout Doom Eternal. Can't interact with it nor can you kill it, an apparition maybe? It is definitely and easter egg.

When the scientists is fanboying over the Slayer he mentions "his body is all "ALIEN" " Could be anything but I think it's funny how in the second to last mission when you confront the Makyr the door acknowledges you as "Seraphim" The scientists also has "Specific orders" For Hayden's body. Also the flash back as the to how the slayer has his abilities the hooded figure sounded a lot like Hayden without the robotic voice. Samuel Hayden is the Seraphim.
Vega is the conscience of Father Makyr ( his body is the huge one in the pool of Urdak).
The Slayer received the Father's spirit in that machine the Seraphim put him in.

What's very interesting to me is that the hooded figure who gives Doom guy his powers says the exact same thing - (literally verbatim) that Samuel Hayden does when you first take argent energy in Doom 2016. Coincidence?

The lore is surprisingly...good. like I always love lore and I was excited for some Doom lore but I wasn't expecting anything groundbreaking. But I'm pleasantly surprised how they linked the old games and how interesting it all is
i'm glad that they finally acknowledged that its the same guy from doom 1 2 and 64 but i'm still annoyed that Doom (2016) is called well Doom. Doom 3 was a sort of reboot and they called that doom 3, they should of just called the 2016 installment doom 4 and then doom eternal, Doom V it would of been way cooler.

Yeah that's one thing that bugs me too. When a reboot gets the same name as the original. Us fans only separate Doom to the previous title to Doom 2016. They should've just went with Doom 4. But i think the reason for this is because they are excluding Doom 3 from this story. Doom 3 seems to have its own time line and universe not connected to Doom 1. Unless i'm mistaken.
@@AcidGlow i always see doom 3 as separate but there are many forum posts and threads where people had theories on it actually falling into the same continuity as the other doom's but these theories don't line up the way that the Doom 2016 theories on it actually being a sequel to doom 1, 2 & 64 did.
Reboots weren't really much of a thing for games in 2004 and the next installment in a game series was almost always numbered. The way i see it is doom 3 was a reboot/re imagining of Doom 1. The cancelled Doom 4 project was a re imagining of doom 2 in a way as it too was set on earth.
Doom 1, Doom 2, Doom 64, Doom (2016) and Doom eternal are all in the same continuity.
Now lets hope that Id software and Bethesda don't "reboot" Doom again and make it all confusing on weather the "reboot" is actually a sequel.

Also I think Daisy was just his last straw, not the reason. They killed everyone he knew and all he had left was his rabbit. The most innocent thing and they brutally killed it.

I excluded wolf rpg, doom rpg, doom II rpg and doom 3, because despite being canonical, including doom 3, I wanted to stay in the main franchise.
Anybody ever think theres something deeper going on as to why the slayer got so mad at the loss of hos rabbit. Im thinking perhaps Daisy was a name of Doomguy's mother, wife, or daughter. Perhaps after something tragic for example what if his former daughter gave him the rabbit before she died and he took it for her. Perhals when the Rabbit died he snapped and became the badass he is today.
Just a theory.
Hell should ask itself: what is the life of one rabbit compared to the holocaust that is destruction of hell?
By the way, doom 3 is still canon since we see the soul cube in both 2016 and eternal. What i would think happened is that doom marine was not in any way related to the slayer, and he was just another dude brutal enough to survive the Mars invasion. He would leave the soul cube behind in hell, where it was kept up until the UAC discovered it along with the doom slayer, which then was moved to lazarus labs on Mars, and it seems like it was somehow moved (maybe by doom slayer himself) to the fortress of doom. The fact that the soul cube is not a usable weapon against demons in doom 2016 and eternal confirms doom slayer doesn't know how to use it or that it is a weapon at all, neither does Hayden, which means doom marine is not directly related to anyone outside of doom 3.
How does he go through the same events as the doomguy and then as the slayer? (Like fighting the same bosses, the invasion of earth, the UAC's experiments are all the same in the old and new doom games)
Doomguy is from an alternate dimension (doom 1 to 64) that also has an earth, mars, etc and after years of warring with hell after the events of 64, he was cast into the sentinel world which is within the dimension of the recent two games. Hell from what im understanding exists between multiple dimensions which is why this was able to happen.
This is really well put together. I was wondering why the Khan Makyr refers to the Doom Slayer as “you who were once a mortal” and now I have my answer. The fact that the Crucibles are energy from the wraiths is something I didn’t know about either, although it makes a lot of sense.

I actually like to point out that DoomGuy lost his family, if you don't believe in what I mean, there is a easter egg in the fortress of doom that there's a picture of a family, the husband with his head torn off due to the picture being ripped apart, a wife, and a son can't tell if the son is adopted or biological but it clearly shows he had a family before, and that can explain his pain not only the loss of his family but the loss of his rabbit and maybe his dimension to.
Well even if he does have a family now (which is made up for continuity), the reason I brought up Daisy is because that's the only "suffering" he was shown to go through in the old Doom games. Which is also continued in another game and when you put the pieces together, Daisy is the prime inspiration for his rage because it was mentioned in the original games, where a family was not.

What annoys me about the seraphim is that its samuel hayden, but the seraphim is a makyr, all the makyrs found out the true nature of the argent energy (human souls) so it begs the question why in 2016 was samuel hayden so insistent on using argent energy but in eternal he lets doomguy fuck up shit as he wants.
He and Vega both know that doom guy would do anything to kill or get to the demons. Like he shot the bfg 10,000 and the surface of Mars just to get to a portal, and is willing to kill his own and the very gods he 'believed' in.

You can tell the writers had a hard time connecting the games since the demons had already invaded Earth in Doom 2 and also why the Doomguy is human but also superhuman, but they did, albeit in a complicated way, but who cares its Doom lol but love the Angel/heaven introduction, took a page from supernatural

Quake is now somewhat canon to Doom as well and there may be a new game in the works. The sentinel guards are based off Visor from Q3 Arena. Sentinel Prime was used as a map for Quake Champions. Doomguy has Quake 1 and Arena on his shelf in the Fortress, right next to Doom 1 and 2. Very specific to ignore Q2 and 4.
The leaks that revealed Doomguy's face and the level list for Eternal about a year ago was correct, and it also claimed the story DLC will have Crash and Phobos from Quake 3 as protagonists.
I still have two questions: VEGA, discovered himself as the father, what does it mean? and who was the mystery voice that screamed "noooooo" after doom guy killed Khan Maker?

A mortal man who walked the path of vengeance after his beloved and innocent pet was taken from him. A man of focus and sheer fucking will, strikes fear into the most fearsome foes. Through his victories during his crusade, his foes now tremble at the mere utterance of his name.
The Gods found his prowess and yearn for battle impressive and they made him one of their own, thinking they could use his rage and hatred as a instrument for their endeavours with the powers they bestowed unto him. However, his hatred proved to be uncontrollable as it was unbreakable, incorruptible, and unyielding. He hunted the slaves of DOOM with barbarous cruelty and he killed all who dared stop him on his quest. Which eventually leads to downfall of the holy Gods themselves.
I never thought the story in doom was important. Kill demons, then kill more demons, then try and kill all demons.
Story makes anything more awesome, story has powerd to push the product even better. Look at the original bionicle. The story is actually mature now compared that story with the remake version of bionicle on 2015 they dumb it down so much that young children might like it... They killed bionicle too bad

I understood it that the maykrs and the demons were always aware of each other, their respective domains are canonically inverted in a trans-dimensional plane inaccessible to physical life. It was always the prerogative of the maykrs to bless and give salvation to living creatures, but when uac gave hell access to the mortal plane, it would set off a series of events which led to doomguy being given unimaginable power which separated the maykrs from the father and it was this separation that turned the Kahn against life and drove her to seek universal rule. This makes sense to me because it seems very unlikely that, in the presence of the father the Kahn would broker a deal with hell. Remember than hell doesn't have unfettered access to mortals prior to uac creating portals and so prior to this souls would go to hell unless saved by maykrs and sent to urdak. I'm certain the maykrs were benevolent creatures prior to the arrival of doomguy. This timeline also explains the massive jump in technological advancement of the UAC from Doom 1/2/3 to Doom 2016, it's clear the Slayer had been in a campaign against hell for many years after killing the Titan.
I call it doom 3 aka known in the future as doom hell state ... killing hell for ever lol

I dont think he got corrupted i think he may be the father that was spirited away by samur when khans villany became known. I think samuel hayden is the seraphim because they both say the same line about gifts and he took the father and memory wiped it. That is vega. Onve vega hooked up to the portals in urdak he regained memory and became self aware that he was in fact the father. But that is just what i took away from the game.

Amazing video dude. I watched so many videos to clear the ambiguities in the continuation. Most of them failed to answer two of my questions: 1, how did doomguy get to argent city from hell, and 2, how did the Khan Makyr get corrupted. Keep up the good work.
Question are we fighting the same hell from the original doom games because if we are why doesn’t Hell ever acknowledge of what happened in the first two original games also how can they be tow icon of sins because in eternal they treat the icon like it’s the first of it’s kind and more of a super weapon then a gatekeeper like in the original Games my theory is that were fighting a different hell from a different universe that’s why earth in eternal never acknowledges of what happened in Doom 1 or 2 because it’s not it’s the same one it’s from another universe also we have to remember that it is stated that the slayer hops between time and dimension so it gives us during even more presidents
It is the very same Hell. In the Divinity machine cutscene, the battle outside uses sounds from the classic Doom games.
Also remember that according to D2016, demons morph and change according to their master at the time.
Next is the fact that Doomguy has been fighting for so long through worlds and time, that his origin became muddled.
Also, it is the same Icon. In D2016 it is stated that the Icon is just dormant, it is also said that Valen's son is used as a vessel for him, just like Olivia was for the Spider Mastermind which means that he Icon has been resurrected several times and the reason they used Valen's son's heart this time, was to take control of him.
Finally, the codex states that Hell and Urdak exist outside of time and space and they aren't bound by it, but they are connected to several dimensions and realities. Hell is also stated to be an infinite realm.

@@dianajimenez4406 Because D2016 also states that there have been 4 different dark lords for each age of ascension and right now we're in he 4th one. OR because id didn't really have anything planned out story-wise 25 years ago and they are just now connecting the games with what they have.
Also, Hell does mention the events of the classics (Daisy's death as the reason for his vengeance and Doomguy staying in Hell at the end of Doom 64). Even the Kahn Maykr alures about the possibility of bringing Daisy back.

I personally love that motivation. It's both hilarious and heartwarming, but let's not forget that the guy almost lost the civilizations he lived in twice (Humanity and Sentinels) and by the time he arrives at Argent, he's pretty much mentally gone due to the horrors of Hell. Even the manual for Doom 64 says that he's losing his mind and if the fan theory that most wads are canon is correct, then he guy has plenty of reason to want Hell gone... Unless Hdoom is canon xD
I feel so elated to find out I was right, that the slayer indeed wasn't the betrayer. I also find it funny that the device kahn makyr created to protect herself, was the way in which she would fulfill the prophecy of her own death. The seraphim or samur makyr, seems very likely to be samuel hayden and as well as Vega being the father.

It was not just daisy, as in the last line narrator says that daisy reminded slayer of all the lives of innocents lost, that was the reason why he was always in rage.

On one of the levels in Doom Eternal, if you look hard enough, you'll actually find Daisy in one of the cages with all the deformed people as you make your way through the soul factory. Can't do anything to her but you just connected the dots for me so I think it's a cool easter-egg

I read a lot about all the things that comes together with the Doom games, but there is one thing, that troubled me with the theory, that Doom 2016 is a continuation of Doom 64...
So if the the Doom guy from 2016 an Eternal is the same guy as the one in Doom 1, 2 and 64, that means, that mars & earth once was allready invaded by demons years ago in Doom 1 and 2.
But in the new games (2016 & Eternal), there are absolute no evidence, that there once was a demons invasion and that mankind allready knows about the hell foreces...
What do you think about that?
