>"Ali did not have any skills, but I needed him to do something to justify his wages. So I made him scout." Didn't know that even medieval England had DEI hires
A quick comment regarding bow skills - the "accuracy penalty while moving" does not refer to horseback riding, its when you're on foot and, for example, strafe while aiming. There is a horse riding perk that is for horseback archery.
It's you haven't realized yet, shooting is a lot harder in third person. Press R to go first person, in third the angle of aim is different depending on the range and it's harder to see where your arrows gone.
"Europe 1100" - so about a century too early for the traditional Robin Hood... 'Ali the Prince' - so, at least someone on the dev team watched Robin of Sherwood and decided to bring in Nasir...
Thanks for getting me back into Bannerlord Carl. I just perfected the perfect amount of Fian Hero's to heavy cav 100 horse 80 automatic machine gun snipers and basically nothing can stop it. Have the archers hold charge the cav and return them to behind the archers. Rinse repeat just beat an 900 man army with just 180 highly trained boys.
Robin of Loxley addressing his men: "I will raise they most powerful band of archers the world has ever known!....Right...does anyone know how to shoot a bow?"
Funny enough, cavalry got shot by arrows all the time in real ancient battles. Agincourt is just one example. In this game though, they're practically immune to projectiles if they ride parallel to a line
I'd been waffling about getting this game. Since there was that sale going on and based on watching Sargon's stream, I bought it and have been playing it a couple hours. Yeah, pretty fun, I have no idea what I'm doing. Good fun.
Nice direction with this one, funnily I was thinking about suggesting a single faction only playthrough, such as Sturgia troops only and how you overcome other factions strengths. I noticed the Arenas are different and much better looking, that is from a mod called Arenas Extended, it creates new Arenas for each Faction with 3 types based on the Tier level of the city walls, getting more grand with each level. Turns out EoE comes with it, but as I just started using it its nice to see. It can be used stand alone in future playthroughs. Speaking of future playthroughs, I think CA Eagle Rising mod is a must to scratch your Rome Total War itch within Bannerlord.
I’ve been playing as a horse archer woman in warband recently, & the learning curve on the bows is quite fun. At first all my hits were just luck, i’d circle the enemies on horseback mainly as a distraction, but after lots of upgrades in player skill, character skill, & weapon (& armor & horse) my maiden fair is more deadly than the khan himself with horse & bow & i can fire off warbow shots quicker than most can fire a hunting bow
You advanced in the tournament because of the structure of the tourney. The first round was a FFA of 4 teams of 2, and the next round was a 2v2, which means both the best team and the second best team advanced to the 2v2. Since yellow and red teams died first, and the survivors were blue and green, the advancing teams were blue and green, even though blue won the round.
I like this game in realistic mode but it needs a stamina bar too so it is more realistic. You could add sprint with stamina. That is the only gameplay issue I have. One speed movement. Your horse should have stamina too as you can just use it to mow down looters when you first start in realistic mode. Which isn't very realistic lol
I have never been a fan of archery in Mount & Blade, especially mounted archery mostly because I suck at it. I found crossbows to be easier to use personally.
"Because, unlike some other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent." ROBIN HOOD: MEN IN TIGHTS They are not ill-gotten gains, but midnight requisitions. This is also known as (s)trategic (t)ransference of (e)quipment to (a)lternate (l)ocations.😆
Is Ali a shia muslim, or are sunnis sometimes named Ali (I dun get it). Also, not sure if there's ever been a general who lead an army as an archer? In Field of Glory 2, Phillip of Macedon is depicted as part of a phalanx, so it's possible to envision him as one of the phalangite (pike men). Alexander commanded on horseback, in spite of a speech where he said he only had scars on the front of his body (cavalry aren't supposed to stay put and face the enemy like heavy infantry).
Can someone tell me why this should have been rubbish but was brilliant ?
robin hood and his merry band of DEI hires
“Surrender your belongings or send bobs and vegana”
>"Ali did not have any skills, but I needed him to do something to justify his wages. So I made him scout."
Didn't know that even medieval England had DEI hires
Go to London, meet some Ali, pay high price.
Ah, must have installed one of those realism mods.
"Sir, I must protest I am NOT a merry man!!"
- Worf
Carl, you need the "Erik's Troops" sub mod for EoE 1100. It makes all the troops use historical equipment.
I hope Carl keeps finding new ways to enjoy Bannerlord forever.
Funny you made Ali the engineer. Since all migrants are doctors and engineers after all
Nah dont forget corner shops and delivery drivers 😂
"the scottish horde" Englishman unable to discern Scottish from Norse? perfectly normal, they're all northerners afterall.
It's like trying to work out If it's dog or cat shit you are scraping off your shoe.
"Europe 1100 mod," first guy you meet is a foreigner.
"England has always been diverse"
"Hey, Robin. I got hit by an arrow an none of the bandits were using it.
Do you know anything about this ?"
He's so commited to this playthrough he didn't just get a bow banner and a bow user but he even hired a Beau.
Lmao, I play Khuzaits a lot. Seeing you trot to the left of the enemy, I immediately knew you hadn't done any horse archery before. Great Vid.
Oh Carl doing a Skyrim stealth archer build?
“OH MERRY MMMMMEEEENNNN!!”
I once played pure musketry in the Japan mod for the original game. Was effective once you have a bunch of samurai with guns.
Oh man, I think it was Gekokujo that I spent the most time playing. So much fun
I'm a simple man. I see Robinhood from a man who knows the lore well, I click.
A quick comment regarding bow skills - the "accuracy penalty while moving" does not refer to horseback riding, its when you're on foot and, for example, strafe while aiming. There is a horse riding perk that is for horseback archery.
Oh this is lovely. Sargon you just have a unique style and it's so compelling
It's you haven't realized yet, shooting is a lot harder in third person.
Press R to go first person, in third the angle of aim is different depending on the range and it's harder to see where your arrows gone.
"My archery skills were very very poor..." well, maybe if you stopped trying to fire your bows and shot them instead... (sorry, medieval archer here!)
Wheres my rematch Carl. You owe me another fight in the Allo. Gor Rock.
"Europe 1100" - so about a century too early for the traditional Robin Hood...
'Ali the Prince' - so, at least someone on the dev team watched Robin of Sherwood and decided to bring in Nasir...

Hell yeah, exactly what I was hoping for, thanks carl!
Do your best Ali!
Watching these has been giving me an itch to play Warband again. Loving the narration and you give these
Robin of Loxley addressing his men: "I will raise they most powerful band of archers the world has ever known!....Right...does anyone know how to shoot a bow?"
18:35 - They got Mordhau audio in there hahaha.
Loving the narrative play throughs Carl.
I cant say I was expecting Carl to be an incredible archer but I'm fairly certain he hit his own men more than the enemy
Funny enough, cavalry got shot by arrows all the time in real ancient battles. Agincourt is just one example. In this game though, they're practically immune to projectiles if they ride parallel to a line

Norse horde, the scottish horde died earlier xD thank you for the robin hood bow campaign
Loving these narrated Bannerlord adventures
Sargon of Locksley?
Robin of Akkad

Amazing idea for a heroic bannerlord campain
Nice this should be fun
Sargon missed his calling as a jolly bard
Tahnk god I've been loving these Bannerlord videos, was afraid you'd gotten bored.
I did the same thing in the 1257AD mod of Warband.
Bow is the only way in Bannerlord. Death from afar!
bumping into a guy called Ali in London. yup, it checks out.
Here to take a break from Carl and his merry twinks.
Archers would be more fun in this game, if ambushing was possible
Yessssssssss YESSS SIR.
YES
Way to represent Britain.
They were renowned bowmen.
Ignores the bow skill bonus becuase he can't hit headshots lol.

I need to try a pure archer army in the unmodded version.
I have never been a fan of archery in Mount & Blade, especially mounted archery mostly because I suck at it. I found crossbows to be easier to use personally.
Nice
