I thought that too, but if I had to guess...Ellen won't talk to him anymore, her show really isn't about talking about all the real world gossip and exploiting it like talk show hosts do(Colbert, etc....which is fine, he's a comedian and this is his kind of material). Ellen's show is supposed to let people escape for an hour a day without having to deal with any of this real-life drama
