I see him live he only been out hospital a week that's what you call dedication I love him sadly missed but his music lives on sing up in heaven Joe xx
Joe was a very holy man,I admired him greatly for the direction towards God he pointed me.I know he is in the arms of Our Lord.Wonderful man ...Lorenzo❤
A Tatter turned top entertainer, I had the pleasure of meeting Joe and shaking his hand on a snowy winter's night in Birmingham, it made my night to meet a legend, so sadly missed. God bless Joe. God must have wanted an entertainer for heaven and he chose the best.....
How lucky were we to have see Joe and all those great entertainers that are no longer with us? and sadly there's not many now who can step into the shoes of Joe, Starr, Dodd, Morecambe and Wise, Forsyth and the master of comedy Bob Monkhouse. Nowadays it's reality, entertainment in Britain is dead, but thankfully we can always look back and remember the good old days.
Where do I start? As I read these lovely comments I keep thinking “nice thought but not strong enough”. Someone should come right out and say the truth: Joe Longthorne is the greatest singer/entertainer ever! His vocal range and power alone puts him at the top. Next you have his perfect rhythm and timing. After that you have impeccable command of the stage and the band. His connection with the audience is also fantastic. I mean seriously people, this man does it all perfectly. Oh, one more thing: his impressions of other singers are the best ever. Be proud of this man England, you should be. I am and I’m not even English! -Mark from USA
You are not alone in thinking this! My brother-in-law, Danny, Cottrell, was his drummer, and his musical director, Pete, Faint, who is on piano, is a friend of mine. They are hardened, experienced, professional musicians who have played with a lot of big names. They both think that Joe Longthorne is the greatest singer that ever existed!
@@andrewmedina Too gimmicky. No emotional takes from his own sensibilities. And when he tries a "different twist" on a song he usually makes it more about vocal gymnastics.
I remember watching Joe at a Radio Humberside Talent Show Contest at the Anlaby Park Hotel in Hull, in the 70's. Way, way before the lad hit the big time but even then you could see (and hear) that he was going places. RIP Joe.
NOBODY WILL EVER TAKE JOES PLACE AT BLACKPOOL,ALSO THEY COULD N WONT EVER TIE JOES SHOELACES,HES THE VERY VERY BEST,N BLACKPOOL,WILL NEVER BE THE SAME WITHOUT HIM THATS FOR SURE,LOVE YOU JOE,MY SISTER N I HAVE GREAT MEMORIES IN THE NORTH PIER,ESPECIALY WHEN HE GOT ME UP ON THE STAGE,HE COULDNT GET HIS BOW TIE OFF N ASKED ME TOO HELP HIM,GET IT OFF N WHEN I DID HE GAVE IT TOO ME ,THEN GAVE ME A BIG KISS, GOD BLESS YOU JOE,💙💙💙XXXX
My friend a d I travel from Swansea and Bournemouth to place flowers on Joe's grave. as often as we possibly can. His nephew, Jon Boy, also rests with Joe. ❤
Met this lovely guy at Potters Resort in Norfolk some years ago. Such a modest person. So much time to talk to me it was a privilege to spend time in his company. Sadly missed but never forgotten. Love you Joe!
Totally agree, what quality, artistry and entertainment. Knew the artists inside out and brilliant how he played on all the nuances with so much humour 😂 Nothing today touches it
Joe was simply one of the greatest talents to have come out of Great Britain !! And it seems he alway,s had time for his many fans unlike many as they rise to the top of their profession and all the time not being in the best of health !
We saw him perform at Wimbledon theatre. His 'Elvis' here was excellent as he had the range, power and vibrato control in the quieter notes that many impersonators skimp over
This man had a MIND BLOWING!! vocal ability that very few have or ever will have, his impressions were closer than the person he was impersonating, Shirley Bassey once said was quoted to say "He does Bassey better than Bassey" now that's one endorsement that you can take to the bank
Joe's talent at times far overshadowed many of the actual entertainers he paid tribute to. Not in a upstaging manner. This was his way of renditioning the performer's best period of their heyday by capturing that moment of perfection in his own time capsule and delivering it to his audience time after time. This man's tone and attention to the diction and detail of the multiple characterizations has not ever been matched by anyone I have ever seen. His Elvis, though at times was an intended parody, he still shows off Presley's rolling vibrato and his southern pronunciations with accuracy even being English. I'm from the US and was a late bloomer to Joe's performances due to most of his success being in the UK. The only person I've ever seen here that comes accurately close to Joe's talent is Bob Anderson. Again, another great acrobatic vocalist and tone capturer that you will love if you are a Joe Longthorne fan. If it wasn't for TH-cam, I would have never found Joe Longthorne. Sadly, he has left us, but these great performances will live on for generations thanks to these preservation efforts of fans posting. RIP Joe, and you are still touching lives from beyond this world. thank you for posting Andy Medina Music.
Couldn't agree more! I know many very good professional musicians, including in my own family, who played and worked with him who consider him to be the greatest singer that has ever existed! Who knows? But they certainly have a pretty good point. X
I totally agree! Danny Cottrell, who was Joe's drummer, is my brother-in-law, so I got to know and hear about Joe quite a lot. Greatly missed! Don't forget to subscribe to my channel and like… It really helps me out. Thanks. Andy
I love Joe and think he's immensely talented but his timing is always a bit out and I don't mean where great singers can sing just before or after the beat. He seems to sing slightly too fast and not correct himself on occasion. Great talent still and what a range! Not many men can sing "don't cry out loud"!
He is simply the best His talent and humanity are wonderful Forever remembered Alan Spain and Scotland
I see him live he only been out hospital a week that's what you call dedication I love
him sadly missed but his music lives on sing up in heaven Joe xx

No body should have to lace anothers boots sure Joe would agree
Every show he gave 100% and you can tell he thoroughly enjoyed performing - Unlike most performers Joe actually got better and better as he got older

He was a real nice guy as well. Met him on Blackpool seafront years ago. Talked to us for ages.
He was very good, but to say he was the greatest is a gross exaggeration.
Joe..⚘..you are So missed..Eternally loved..and your music..🎶..will live Forever.🙏.xx
This man wasn’t talent. He was purely genius. He was absolutely fantastic and is a true legend ❤
I just discovered Joe. I only wish it would have been sooner. Just love his talent.
What a phenomenal voice, incredible song renditions! A true world class artist, so sad he's no longer with us. RIP Joe.
I remember watching Joe at a Radio Humberside Talent Show Contest at the Anlaby Park Hotel in Hull, in the 70's. Way, way before the lad hit the big time but even then you could see (and hear) that he was going places. RIP Joe.

Joe was simply one of the greatest talents to have come out of Great Britain !! And it seems he alway,s had time for his many fans unlike many as they rise to the top of their profession and all the time not being in the best of health !
They say "The Good Die Young" - Well this certainly applied to Joe except he was not only good he was one of the greatest performers ever.
What a voice. Never see the like of him again. All round entertainer god bless Joe xx

Wow this guy was amazing one of the greatest entertainers so talented . R.I.P JOE .
Brilliant .. Sad loss when he passed
Joe at the top of his game here, simply outstanding.

Saw Joe at jollies Longton Stoke-on-Trent i think about 1981 or 1982 not sure i was about 20 thought he was brilliant 👏
