I Bought the Haloview RD7 to replace a camera system from Furrion Vision S that had significant drop out issues. Installation was not a problem - powering the camera off the top rear marker light. Swapped out the old mounting brackets for the new ones and ran the transmission cable up to the front of my 26 foot long camper. Mounted the transmitter with liberal amounts of RTV/Silicon. Got the monitor hooked up in the cab, powered it up and turned on the marker lights. The camera and monitor paired automatically and provided me a terrific view of my back yard - as expected. Finally got to road test it this past weekend on a short camping trip - about 50 miles one way. Camera performed flawlessly the whole way - didn't notice a single drop out and had very little, if any flicker. Decent field of view as well. I can see cars within about 20 feet of my rear bumper and can pick up the entire lane of expressway on either side at about 40 feet back. I am VERY satisfied with the performance of this system so far. Big test will be next month with a 1000 mile trip coming up. Looking forward to it.
I hope everything went well with your trip! I love this backup camera. Can't put a price on having peace of mind. Thank you for watching and supporting!😎👍
I'm wiring up my two side camera's tomorrow. After watching your video I'm confident its probably about a 20 minute job. Thanks for taking the time to record this video and the dancing was the icing on the cake!! 👍👍
Awesome video. I would have liked to see the beginning in the truck on how to start hooking up the system. Other than that is was very informative and easy to follow. Thank you for putting this out for all of us 80 year old's that are not to smart. The only other question I have is my amber connector light and the one in the video are different sizes. I hope this doesn't make a difference.
I just purchased a Mini Lite pre wired except for the side markers. I also purchased the Furrion Vision S with the 7" monitor. I like your idea of combining the front side marker as a turn indicator. Could you translate Furrion's wiring color code to match your definition? [Brown =V+ traffic lamp] [Yellow = trigger signal] [Red = V=Camera] [Black = ground]. Thanks, your time is much appreciated.
My Uncle has a Class A that came with the Furrion already installed. He's not really happy because he says the side camera turns on with the turn signal, but then the rear-facing view is immediately lost--he would like to be able to see the side and rear at the same time.
Yeah unfortunately the side lights don't come pre-installed. But it is convenient enough to remove the old side marker lights to use the pre-existing wiring. All in all it's an amazing system well, worth the money. Let me know what camera system you decide to get and how it works for you! I appreciate you watching the videos! Thank you Alex!
@@DURTYMAXLML I have just the back camera on mine with the 7in monitor. I didn't feel it was necessary to get the side ones because I have mirrors lol.
@@alexm8267 if you are towing a trailer, there is a huge blind spot that you can see with your mirrors when backing into a campsite if you are other than straight back.
I’m trying to install mine, but I’m having no luck. It says paired, but I can’t see any video. I tried installing from the cigarette plug and also the way you did it and it’s not working. When I installed in the cigarette plug it works, but once installed in the back of the RV it don’t work. Any idea? Do I need to have the RV powered, or connected to my truck?
Great video, I have just the old furrion observation camera so will the new S model with that or do I need to get the new observation camera so I can use it with the 7" monitor?
Disappointed in this "prewired" setup.....in order to use the motion sensor/security camera features, you have to rewire to the battery and a switch. And you have to rewire if you want it to work other than the default, which is only when your lights are on in your tow vehicle. Since my TT is prewired for Furrion, you would think it would be prewired to access ALL the features....had I known that, I would not have dropped $600 on this backup camera
What Make and Year Truck do you have? Some New Trucks are having problems called PWM from the power signal transmitted which is Pulse-width modulation. Making a short burst signal. Furrion is making new adapter, New video coming Soon!
@@DURTYMAXLML I have a 18 ram 1500. That might be the issue because I plugged the rear camera in the cab with the 12v aux connection and I was able to pair it then and also got the blue light on it, but once I installed it on rv it had no connection or blue light. The side cameras had no hope there either lol.
Im jealous, you eliminated all your blind spots. So if you hit anything backing up with 0 blind spots a spotter, and a trailer that can turn on a dime. Sell the trailer, because you have no business behind the wheel. I run a tractor trailer that has a lot of blind spots, no cameras, no spotter, and 2 mirrors to get it in
And - Belle Belle - you'll do it all knowing exactly where the rear tail swing will put any rear corner - when going in either direction - backing or driving... unlike a LOT of RV drivers of 5th wheelers, who assume they can do 180's out of a gas station - without wiping out the pump or half the side of their trailer. Unlike some - who DRIVE a 5th wheeler with excess tail swing - as if they were in a race to get OUT as fast as possible, thereby ripping not just a little - but as much as possible when doing an extremely tight 180 ?? th-cam.com/video/Rs4asoBWo_8/w-d-xo.html

Finally! Thank you. Spent the better part of the day looking for youtubes and forums on the four to two wire setup.
Thank you Lyle!

The power cord for the monitor has a take off so you can pair up the cameras before you mount them on your unit. No running back and forth necessary.
Well I definitely got my exercise for the day! Thanks for the recommendation!😎👍
I concur that those dance moves are pretty legit

Pro tip: tap into the 12v power at your mirror so you don't have a power cord hanging down.
Very good idea thank you Frank!
Great video 👍
Thank you Thomas!
Where exactly did you put the silicon? On the back of the camera as well or also as a bead around the black rubber seal?
I notice door cam takes up a lot of space on screen. Can you modify screen not to show it? Thx
Very helpful! Thanks!
I wired the camera to the parking light and the marker lights to the turn signals. Now it let's vehicles next to me of my intentions to switch lanes

How did you take the maker light cover off?
Can you still install this kit if you don't have the fin already factory installed?
Yes, it comes with everything you need to install on any camper👍
Looks good! My trailer came ready with all the hooks up already...all what need is the cameras and no lights. Any suggestions?
It comes with the light and Camera combined to make it easier to wire. Better to just have one waterproof housing. Hope this helps!
Why did you opt not to trigger the side cameras with the turn signals? That seems like a really useful feature.
Well there's a display that shows all three cameras at the same time. If you the trigger you will not be able to use that function.

My furrion backup camera only works with the lights turned on (I have a F350) in the all on, not the auto on position. Try that.
Hello, since the cameras are wired to the lights, do you have to pair them after every power cycle ?
They only have to be paired once with the monitor. The system has built in memory that saves the pairing information.
Side cameras don’t work unless you turn your car lights 😞
So we should turn the lights on in day time 😎
Great video, I have just the old furrion observation camera so will the new S model with that or do I need to get the new observation camera so I can use it with the 7" monitor?
Honestly I'm not sure but I hope so! Thank you!

Is the picture quality good while you towing ??

Blame your RV manufacturer, not the camera system.
Yeah not all manufacturers are the same! Hopefully furrion will find an alternative that can be linked with the same system. Thank you!
