    Which is more important to you? A dedicated vlogging camera or a balanced hybrid camera?

      I don't really need the vlogging camera as much as an all-in-one hybrid!

      "dedicated vlogging camera" is kinda funny. you can do that with the cheapest cameras.
      Of course you can also use a cinema camera to do vlogging, if you have high standards and enough cash.

    The ZVE1 is an absolutely incredible camera. Low light is amazing. There’s no competition with an APSC sensor, having owned APSC, now sold.

      @@MikeBSalazar I have the Sony 24mm F2.8 for when I want a tiny set up, the 16-35mm F4 Zeiss zoom (a great used buy at £450) and the Tamron 28-75 F2.8. I am mulling over getting the Sony 20mm F1.8!
      Trying to stick with Sony lenses mainly due to the superior performance on IBiS.

    I have the Sony A7C2 arriving this week, and just tried the ZV-E1 for a week at Disney World. I liked the low light ability of the ZV-E1 (have Sony 20mm f1.8, Sony 55mm f1.8 ZA, and Sony 85mm f1.8, which makes for a light kit). The photos, which I knew wouldn't be that great (12mp) were okay, but I didn't really care for the form factor and lack of buttons/dials that I wasn't sure how it was going to work. I found myself fumbling too much and got a little frustrated. Now, I also have a Sony 200-600mm (I do some wildlife photography) and am thinking about picking up something like the Sony 70-200mm F4 G OSS Macro or the Tamron 70-180mm f2.8 G2 during a Black Friday sale! I think I may like the Sony A6700 as a backup camera, especially for the added reach I would get on wildlife shooting with the two zoom lenses. I could maybe add the Sony 11mm f1.8 APS-C which could benefit both cameras

    • @MikeBSalazar
      @MikeBSalazar  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I tried the A7C2 with the 70-200mm f4 g macro recently at a sony event. Oh man. It's such a nice combo. Love that macro lens. A7C2 was a good mix of small form factor but enough ergonomic functions to help feel like you were having control your photo experience. If I could afford it, I would pick that up instead of the 70-180. I used to own the first version and that was good, just what I needed it for in church, but nothing too exciting about it. Lots of people enjoy that Sony 11mm too.

    • @GuitarRJP
      @GuitarRJP 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MikeBSalazar Thanks for the input. I believe I would like the macro component of that lens, but I struggle with the F4 vs. F2.8, especially if my second camera is an APS-C. Sounds like the 70-180mm f2.8, in video anyway (which I do) is having some issues, but it just when $100 off, so now you are looking at $1198 to $1698, with F2.8 vs. F4!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I love having choice though! Sometimes I just have to decide what I really need vs. want!

    You don't know about the 6700 overheat fix? IPhone magnetic cooling fan, manufactured by Razer, Singapore.
    There's also the Tilta A6700 cage, that comes with an even bigger cooling fan. So for video, you're set one way or another.

    I am so glad I went with Full Frame after being an APS-C shooter for many years. There is just such a vast difference, the cheap primes you can get that are f/1.8 (APS-C f/1.2 equivalent), the ultra portable f/2.8 primes (f/1.8 APS-C equivalent). It just creates both a smaller/lighter travel package as well as gives you better bokeh/separation, significantly better low light performance and there's just something that's more pleasing in the image, maybe the micro contrast, it just looks more "expensive" and "cinematic". The small f/4 full frame zooms also still give better performance (separation and light capture) than much larger and more expensive f/2.8 APS-C zooms, etc.
    I think Full Frame is becoming a lot more accessible, a few years ago it was just unaffordable. Here price difference is £1.6k vs £1.2k - not so huge.

    • @MikeBSalazar
      @MikeBSalazar  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have been eyeing those prime G lenses from Sony. My favorite lens of the FF has always been the 24-105 f4. Not small, but still just loved it.
      As much as I can I try to stay under $1k here and more haha.

    • @DigiDriftZone
      @DigiDriftZone 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@MikeBSalazar I don't have any G lenses, they are so expensive! - I did buy the F 35mm f/1.8 second hand and that's fantastic. The Viltrox lenses are great and cheap-ish, the 16mm F/1.8 is unreal, the 24mm F/1.8 is almost as good as the Sony at a fraction of the price, the 50mm Sony f/1.8 feels cheap/light and plasticky but actually for the £50 price tag? - incredible results. The Tamron 70-300mm F4.5-6.3 is cheap and equivalent to around 45-200mm f3-4 on APS-C - how amazing is that? The Samyang 18mm f/2.8 is impossibly small/light and also cheap. So many options! - The kit lens 28-60 is smaller than anything APS-C while delivering f3-4 APS-C equivalent performance.

    • @MikeBSalazar
      @MikeBSalazar  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hahaha man, you really have tried and ventured through all these lenses. I have dabbled with a few samyang. I also enjoyed the Sony 35mm f/1.8. At this point I'm looking at a pancake lens for my sony a6700 hahaha

    • @DigiDriftZone
      @DigiDriftZone 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MikeBSalazar I had a 27mm f/2.8 pancake on my Fuji APS-C but that focal length is either too tight, or not tight enough heh. I wasn't able to find a pancake with a focal length I really loved. Which one are you looking at?
      The Sony 20mm f/2.8 pancake for APS-C looks nice but it's around f/4.2 equivalent on full frame for a prime and slow focusing - I feel like I'm becoming too snobbish about these things 🤣

    • @arthurrodrigues8913

      I was thinking about A6700 for the price and for the advantagens, in comparison to the A6500 that i have.
      but, you talk everything i was thinking about fullframe cameras. The "high ranges" for APS-C kill the cinematic look.
      so, A7CII... ZV-E1... FX3 have become options for me, as i am looking to improve my cinematographic level.
      but, i live in Brazil, where the price of this cameras are so far of the reality and, the clients, don't understand the value of this jobs.
      for this reason, APS-C cameras here, are more common to see...

    Great review. Appreciate your style. Tough decision. I'm looking for an upgrade to my Canon T7i primarily for in-studio (kitchen) film (see my channel for examples). I sure don't want overkill but also want & need the camera to last for a loooonnnng time. My primary use lens is a Sigma 1.8 18-35 which, from other youtube folks, looks like can be adapted from its Canon EF mount to Sony's E mount.

    When I open the battery door and side doors on the ZV-E1, I managed to stream for 6.5 hours 4k30 without issue over USB-C in a 25c relatively hot room. The battery dropped from 100% to 83% during this time.

      Wow. That's really good. I will try this with my a6700 in the future. I tried it in my church basement, it only lasted like 45 minutes in 1080, but I was simultaneously recording.

    • @DigiDriftZone
      @DigiDriftZone 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MikeBSalazar Ah, yes, it is best to do the recording on your laptop using something like OBS, then no overheating :) - but if you need to record in parallel, that little ulanzi fan seems to work, I bought one but not had to use it yet!

    Also im just now remembering, if you want to do any sort of flash photography, the zve1 basically sucks for that. Like it can only shoot at 1/30th of a second? Something like that. That and its lack of mechanical shutter, unfortunately, kills its chances for me. Which really sucks because in every other way, the zve1 is amazingly perfect for me

    • @MikeBSalazar
      @MikeBSalazar  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I also wanted to get the ZVE1 to work for me in that aspect as well. I didn't even think to use it with flash. I should have attempted that. Sony really knows how to divide our choices with these "little" features and changes. I wish even my FX30 had a mechanical shutter!
