I recently installed Auxito LED bulbs in my low and high beams. They fit with the stock dust caps and are a huge leap beyond even the best halogen bulbs.
I am new to the Colorado and not much of a car person. I purchased what I was told were upgraded headlight bulbs from an auto parts store. **They are somewhat brighter but still yellow and not good. I am now on a hunt to find something that actually provides a good headlight brightness.
LED's with with fans on them usually have short lives unless they have made big improvement's and covering it up with a dust cover makes it even hotter to operate.
Heat kills LED light output and longevity. The fan reduces that issue and it is rare that a fan fails on a reasonably decent quality LED headlight replacement. I tested a standard OEM H11 halogen bulb at around 300 degrees. Lights like the ones shown in this video typically run around 125-150 degrees so an LED light with a fan generating half the heat under the same dust cover as an OEM halogen doesn't seem likely to operate hotter. After all, where does the heat from the OEM bulb go?
@@easonjones3676 Not typically. While they do keep steady light output and heat range, they do burn out much sooner than LEDs and are often less vibration resistance than LED lights in harsh conditions (off-roading, etc.)

Hey man, one thing I saw that you might like is installing red LED lights instead of white inside of the cab, and then keep the 2 switch controlled lights white so you can still have white light if needed

Hey, I know this video is 2 years ago but I sent you a email to you 2 days ago. Lasfit made a new high and low beam headlight bulb but the ome dust cap isn’t going to work with it. I would like to get the aftermarket dust caps if possible. Also, I enjoy your channel and appreciate it.
I always wondered if I would have been satisfied with just the LEDs in the housing vs the projector swap. Might try it on the tahoe because as bad as our lights are those halogens are much worse. I've had retrofits on most of my vehicles and it is a sickness for sure. One you start you just want to retrofit the world lol. Great video.
They have been great in the truck. It does have somewhat of a projector housing in the Z71 and ZR2 models but I can't say how it would be fully in the reflection housing.
@@HorsePowerObsessed The tahoe has the same basic housings we have in our truck. Just a 3 inch instead of a 2.5 iirc. I may pick them up for mom for Christmas. They look great.
I ordered the lasfit bulbs for my 2021 ZR2 from the last video and neither set had the little box thingy on the cord like you showed. I put them in anyhow and they fit and all seemed well UNTIL I tried to put the dust covers back on. Didn't fit on the low beams! Oddly the high beam covers do fit but the low beam cover is maybe an 1/8'th of an inch too small. Will email you about maybe getting the 3D printed covers. Those switchbacks are sweet too, next on my list to order.
@@IhateSIGNINGup4this GREAT IDEA! I hadn't considered that. I ended up using a heat gun on the OE dust covers and possibly stretched them out just enough to fit them on. I also pushed extremely hard on them and finally was able to turn them. Been a few months and no issues. I keep the OE bulbs in the truck just in case. If I ever need to go back into the housing I'll see about switching out the rubber grommet things.

I have a 2021 ZR2 & I had to swap out the O-Ring from the OEM Bulb to the LED to get them to fit under the OEM Dust Caps. However, I can't access the passenger side low & high headlights. Help.
I put my money into a Mallet Blower and a 3 inch Cat back exhaust. Total sleeper pushes 435Hp@5000 rpm. Goes from 120km to 200 ish in seconds. I do not have a governor. Fastest so far? 252km/hr.

With the updated bulbs and the updated caps needed for the bulbs I honestly can't tell a difference in output from my HID kit I used to have on my Z71 and that's insanely impressive.
I've had the Lasfit switch back turn signal bulbs for a while, luv them ! My question is why wouldn't they work in the rear turn signal ? When I talk to Lasfit they said they were working on it. But it's the same bulb ! Your thoughts, please.

I have not had any issues but they apparently had a bad batch where some people had that problem. They offer warranty for that kind of reason though. All of those people have been sent working ones.
I want to put Led bulbs in my 21 ZR2 and feel with the drl and always having to remember to turn off, is there a fuse for it that can be removed instead?

I have a Chevy Colorado LT with reflector headlights. Any recommendation which LED headlight brand to get? I read that LED lights that work in projector headlights does not necessarily work in refectors.
They work "better" in reflector housings, but they scatter light in a way that is quite blinding for oncoming traffic. That's unfortunately the reality of any LED in a reflector housing. If that doesn't bother you, just get the same ones listed here.
I tried the last fit headlights. Locking ring is separate from bulb. Can't get dust cover on headlights but still fits brights. Ordered GTR MINI bulbs. No modifications needed.
Locking ring is separate in order to make sure that it's adjusted properly. If you put it into the headlight at any other angle other than straight up and down it messes with the output. I haven't tested those specific bulbs but I have tested a lot of other LEDs and none of them come close to the brightness of these lasfit bulbs which is why I'll do the modification necessary to make them fit.

I bought Lasfit bulbs because I watched this video where you recommend them for Chevy colorados, but I got them and they don’t work. They still hyper flash. Any idea why that might be? Got the exact CK model number in the video. I called Lasfit, but their Tech support guy couldn’t even spell technical let alone offer any kind of support. Don’t know why he’s answering the tech support phone. Any recommendations on LEDs that are actually compatible for the front and rear signal and brake lights? Thanks.
If you got the bulbs mentioned here and they still hyper flash then they are defective. Call again and talk to someone else. The exact bulbs in this video have build on resistors to prevent hyper flashing.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Yeah I got the same ones and they supposedly have the resistor inside. I talked to a guy named Lewis, and all he said was get a refund. I got these and some red tail light LEDs that say they are “CANBUS” ready to fix hyper flash. He told me they didn’t have any products compatible with Chevy truck signal lights. I tried to tell him I saw them work in videos, but he wasn’t having it. Weird. Hey thank you for the reply, and the videos. I’ll go back to halogens until the LED market and Chevy work out their issues. Haha.

Awesome video I just sent you an email about the dust covers. I was looking at my Colorado and see that the driver side is easily accessible to swap out lights but not the passenger side. There is a big plastic peace over it. Any ideas how to get that thing off ?

I have not had any issues but they apparently had a bad batch where some people had that problem. They offer warranty for that kind of reason though. All of those people have been sent working ones.
I want to put Led bulbs in my 21 ZR2 and feel with the drl and always having to remember to turn off, is there a fuse for it that can be removed instead?

I have a Chevy Colorado LT with reflector headlights. Any recommendation which LED headlight brand to get? I read that LED lights that work in projector headlights does not necessarily work in refectors.
They work "better" in reflector housings, but they scatter light in a way that is quite blinding for oncoming traffic. That's unfortunately the reality of any LED in a reflector housing. If that doesn't bother you, just get the same ones listed here.

I tried the last fit headlights. Locking ring is separate from bulb. Can't get dust cover on headlights but still fits brights. Ordered GTR MINI bulbs. No modifications needed.
Locking ring is separate in order to make sure that it's adjusted properly. If you put it into the headlight at any other angle other than straight up and down it messes with the output. I haven't tested those specific bulbs but I have tested a lot of other LEDs and none of them come close to the brightness of these lasfit bulbs which is why I'll do the modification necessary to make them fit.

Thank you! I appreciate the support. You could light up the rear of the Chevrolet lettering with some LEDs. I might look into it in the future.

I bought Lasfit bulbs because I watched this video where you recommend them for Chevy colorados, but I got them and they don’t work. They still hyper flash. Any idea why that might be? Got the exact CK model number in the video. I called Lasfit, but their Tech support guy couldn’t even spell technical let alone offer any kind of support. Don’t know why he’s answering the tech support phone. Any recommendations on LEDs that are actually compatible for the front and rear signal and brake lights? Thanks.
If you got the bulbs mentioned here and they still hyper flash then they are defective. Call again and talk to someone else. The exact bulbs in this video have build on resistors to prevent hyper flashing.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Yeah I got the same ones and they supposedly have the resistor inside. I talked to a guy named Lewis, and all he said was get a refund. I got these and some red tail light LEDs that say they are “CANBUS” ready to fix hyper flash. He told me they didn’t have any products compatible with Chevy truck signal lights. I tried to tell him I saw them work in videos, but he wasn’t having it. Weird. Hey thank you for the reply, and the videos. I’ll go back to halogens until the LED market and Chevy work out their issues. Haha.
Are you referring to the front turn signal lights? I’m confused cause these definitely work. I’ve installed probably 30 sets of these things lol
@@HorsePowerObsessed Yes sir. Front and rear. I’ll exchange and see if they were as defective as Lasfit tech support. Haha! That guy definitely did not seem to know the products very well.
I never tested their rear bulb but the front parking light/turn signal works perfectly for me.

Curious how your dustcaps are holding up? I've had a set printed in PETG last about 2 months before the driver side warped.

@@HorsePowerObsessed Nice. I've melted 3 versions in PETG now only on the drivers side. Machined them out of aluminum. That won't melt :-)

if you don't, moisture and dirt can make its way into the headlights.

I ordered lasfit switchbacks (CK) for my 2019 z71 Colorado. The seller reached out and said I needed the standard socket bulbs. I know you had an 18 z71. Do you know if the socket was different perhaps?

Awesome video I just sent you an email about the dust covers. I was looking at my Colorado and see that the driver side is easily accessible to swap out lights but not the passenger side. There is a big plastic peace over it. Any ideas how to get that thing off ?
