Just got mine yesterday and I am absolutely in awe of this thing. I was expecting the quality and gameplay to be worse than it actually is and was still willing to spend the $500. But to my surprise it exceeded my expectations in every way. You really feel as if you’re in the room you’re in on the game and the detail is fantastic. I am at work right now but I am counting down the moments until I get home and can play!I downloaded the CREED demo last night and the main screen blew my mind with the smoke clouds blowing past you & it does such a good job of making things look massive. If you aren’t sure if you should buy it this is your sign to spend the money!
i’m hoping to get it for my birthday in a few months. and i was curious if you know if i need to buy a mic that’s compatible with the quest? my friends have told me that’s there’s one built in but it doesn’t look like it so i’m a bit confused tbh 😅

Enjoyed the video. Especially the pacing and the tone. I was able to use it to set up my unit and get it working very quickly and with minimal frustration. Like others, I am pleasantly surprised with the technology and the array of games and apps.

I love my Oculus Quest 2 and once I learned how to use it to play games that the set can't run normally (Half life Alice for example) the value of the VR set increased even more!

Thanks for having showed the batteries the controllers come with, it helped validate that a 2nd hand one i recently bought has had very little use as the seller stated, as the controller batteries were the same as what you showed & basically still fully charged.
Imagine if you can go to google maps, explore other countries, and meet 'real' people there, with this oculus.
im a little late but there is a google earth app on the quest and tou can explore the world, but you can't meet other people.

I have had mine over a year. My suggestion is to also get a chrome cast and cast it to your tv. It helps when someone unfamiliar is playing and you need to assist them.

Got mine 2 days ago stayed on it until it went dead and charged it up and played it again till it went dead it’s pretty fun definitely worthy the money
Charging the quest when it has high battery can make the battery life ladt longer
If you wait until its 5% or dies then charge it the battery life might be a bit shorter

I found my 256GB Quest 2 at the pawnshop for 139.99! It was one hell of a night.
It was just sitting on their shelf barebone, with no cables, no price tag, just 2 controllers and the headset. All it needed was a USB-C cable to turn it on but they didn't care. I asked what its storage size was and the guy shrugged and abruptly asked you want it? Take it, man it's been here months!! So I asked again, what is the storage size? He shrugged again lol and said it doesn't turn on but he and his coworker know it works. Then he says $139.99 and it's yours!! That was a solid price for the 128GB or the 256GB because they still run at $299.99 & $399.99 and so I said OK. I had been in the market for one and I had gone that night to the pawnshop right before they closed looking for one, so it was my lucky night.
Also, there was a box of Audio-Technica ATH-M50x that had a price tag of $49.99. I told him I will take those headphones and the Oculus off of his hands for $150.00. He looked at his coworker and said ALRIGHT!!! Lollll Woooohoooo! This ATH-M50x headset I am using today was barely used and was very clean after inspecting it!
So, I got home, plugged in the headset, and when I went into the options to check the storage size it said 256GB! Woooooohooooooo! That is what you call a lucky buy!
1 more thing - When I was able to get it connected to the internet, a Facebook message popped up like 2 minutes later and said, "You out already?" LOLLL - Poor dude
I reformatted after I tried Rick & Morty, which was amazing, but I lost it due to the reformat - Sadness

I watched this video because I wanted an oculus, I was scared that it was gonna be hard but it's actually pretty simple to set up.

@@anonxmousanna whatever you do dont let them get a pre owned one, you really dont want a vr headset that someone else has been using, just really unsanitary and there could be damages like scratched lenses or finicky controller tracking without knowing until you use it.

Anyone who wants to buy a quest 2 should also buy a head strap. I got a quest 2 recently and bought a head strap the same day.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I bought the Bobovr m2. When I get it I will try to update the comment if I don't forget.
Edit2: Got the strap it's like 7x more comfortable than the stock one, but takes time to adjust it.

Just bought this for my son’s 14th birthday today, he’s totally hooked already and looks so funny waving his hands around!! Your tutorial has been very helpful and greatly appreciated.
In the future I recommend purchasing the elite headstrap and battery by oculus. Its a bit pricey at 110 dollars US but it dramatically increases battery life and comfort and I would totally recommend it.
The headset is fine on its own of course i just think it would be worth its while to make that additional purchase, I definitely dont regret it

I'm happy that I've watched this video. I was thinking of getting something other than the oculus 2 but I've completely changed my mind. Next time I'm out I've brought my money with me and I'm buying one. I would recommend to have your oculus account already done before getting it! I helped my cousin to pair his and that was the easiest route the day before it arrived, only takes a few minutes.

I feel like VR is good for gaming but augment reality is definitely better for every day use. If you made a AR headset that could be worn all day then everyone would use it. Being able to do everything in the world you can already along with augmented reality being added on top would change everything

How how long does it take to start up and how long do games take to load on occulus quest 2? I already have a five with full body tracking and sensor bars and the only reason I want to replace it is it's too heavy and it takes way too long for my games to start up
By startup, it comes on in the click of a button, games usually take bout 5 mins or less to download.

I’m getting a new quest soon because mine was boot-looping and I waited a month and I tired to factory reset it but I didn’t work so I’m going to buy a new one soon.
Guys I finally got one of these for Christmas and I thank my parents for it and I love them so much but guys if you haven't already got it it's definitely worth getting or if your getting it for Christmas just try your best to stay or be good. But I would say get a new strap and face cover just from a personal experience if there is anything else you want to know don't be afraid to ask me!

Once your controller gets broken it is RIP
it is a cool device but if you had another oculus product linked to Facebook at an earlier point it does use the same pin code as the last one, so keep the pins close and ready to use at any time :) but that is not a bad thing some old games from the Rift s I had for two years ago I could just download free from charges like saint and sinners, but I was lucky to remember the pin code I did use back then

I've got brachydactyly type D, basically my thumbs are 2/3 the length of regular thumbs, and a bit wider. Would that affect using the controllers?

How did yours come with a cover for the lens but other unboxing videos didn’t
I got one of these recently and I have to say the display is really disappointing. A lot of videos on here saying the “screen door effect” is almost nonexistent but to me it’s really bad. Wondering if any others have the same experience or maybe mine is defective or something.
The only things I can think of are adjusting the IPD and getting the straps more comfortable. Might also want to try giving it to other people, also if you have a friend that has a quest 2 you could ask them to try it out and see if it's defective.
It’s not defective you just have to move the device around a little until it appears straight to you. It says it as a tip somewhere either in the box or while your using it I can’t remember
The FOV is disappointing but I have zero screen door effect.

Kinda disappointed no one had to answer to your question.
H.264 and H.265 are video codecs, H.265 is more efficient so for the same quality, it takes up less space. However not all computers and devices support H.265 so choose H.264 for maximum compatibility. Oculus quest 2 supports H.265 so you always want to download this file codec to save space on your device. Hope this helps!
Tip: Use VLC for opening H.265 if your native video software does not work with H.265.
Is a laptop needed for this, or can I use it straight out the box? I tried Google and it says I needed one, but your video says otherwise, just wanted clarification before I research everything about vr and obsess over it until I can get one lol.
No this model doesn’t need anything. No computer is needed. You can use it straight out of the box like I Did
I believe you need a smart phone or tablet to do the initial set up but that's about it. Unless you decide to install sidequest and I think you can get around using a PC to install that nowadays.
