Closest mountain to Charlotte, that's how it be. On the weekend you gotta be on it first thing - and you *might* get 2.5 hours before the crowds make it untenable. Unless it's raining lol.
Great video! Every resort should post something like this. It didn't look very crowded (by Sugar standards) so you must've been up there on a weekday. I always liked Sugar Slalom, but the only way to reach it is via Tom Terrific (they used to have a T-bar). I've pestered Gunther, the owner, to cut in a cat track behind Tom to allow access to Slalom for people who don't have good enough health insurance to ski Tom Terrific, but no dice.
Thank you so much for watching! That's a really great point, there's really not a great way to access Sugar Slalom without risking a fall. Maybe one day!
@@pithub6903 Nope, I was looking at the other side of the mountain, behind Tom Terrific. The trail map shows such a track, but it's not really there. I tried to attach a jpg for clarity, but got frustrated w/ YT and gave up. If you pull up the trail map and look above and to the left of Tom you'll see the area.
This is the exact kind of video I was looking for. It's very enjoyable and informative. Do you have one for Beech Mtn? We are going to Sugar and Beech in a few weeks, and I've wanted to show my kids what to expect in this kind of video.
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind words. I unfortunately was not able to get to Beech last year as they had an issue getting all of their runs open. I do plan to go this year though!
this whole video was him dodging kids/ new people randomly cutting lol
Pretty much my whole day 🤣
Thanks for watching!

And snowboarders laying in the middle of the run.
9:30 Gunther's Way might be the best run in the Southeast. Not crowded (most find the tip-in intimidating, I assume) and a ton of fun to rip down.
Absolutely! Loved skiing that run. Thanks for watching!
Great video this helped me a lot. You really deserve more subs.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching! Hoping to get a lot more uploaded this season!
Rlly awesome and helpful video
Thank you for watching!
Those conditions are about as good as it gets on sugar, and relatively uncrowded too! Gunthers is so rippable, love that run.
Thank you for watching! Yes, the conditions were amazing that day. It had been a long time since I've had a ski day that good in the southeast!
