Is anyone not going to bring up the fact that neither Arthur nor Jack heard the horses approaching? And I like the body language agent Milton uses at the end where he uses a fist and then it goes to pointing at Arthur
Imagine if Arthur had taken them both out here, wonder how the story would have turned out
@@omhh1986 They probably would have told someone that they were about to approach a known outlaw and so they would have been raided quite soon after
@@omhh1986 If Jack wasnt there, I think he would have shot them both in the back.
"Enjoy your fishing, kid. While you still can."
Jack: Yeah okay. Enjoy your duck hunting Ross, while you still can.

Jack: " *SIMP* "
Jack: "enjoy the simp squad, cuck."

Ross and Jack met for the first time and for the last time fishing by a river. Has to be intentional.
He was shooting ducks by a lake.. (don julio)
How ironic

I did not really dislike Milton that much because he was just doing his job for the government and the P.D.A, but Ross just straight up used John and betrayed him in the end
Milton was trying to get Arthur to do the same thing essentially, he was just going to use him. The difference is Arthur didn't do it. I hate them both, but I agree it is just their job.
He killed Hosea.
John should have killed Ross while he was still alive.
John basically screwed himself, he killed Micah and led Ross right to him
I wish Milton had a more interesting role than just the man who leads the Pinkertons and hunts down the gang. His intentions, like Ross, are just because it is their job. What would make Milton more interesting and sympathetic is if it was personal. In Chapter 1 the gang talk a lot about the Blackwater Job and how Dutch killed a girl, which seemed out of character at the time. If that girl Dutch killed was Milton's daughter or something who was working with her father to trap and arrest the gang, then Milton has real intentions. He clearly hates Dutch the most as he asked here and in Clemens Point just for Dutch. This would also further point out that it was Dutch's fault the gang fell as well.
"you enjoy being a rich man's toy do you?" has to be the one of the best lines in this game

Still true as that's all the modern day police forces and armies are
“Apparently not” if it was about money they would arrest Arthur right there. 5000 dollar they say, nearly 165000 dollar nowadays.
Arthur was just about to draw his gun at the end there, jack interupted him just in time...
I've never noticed that before. Looks like he had second thoughts of killing them in front of Jack.

Arthur: I ain’t gonna swing cause I ain’t done nothing wrong.
Milton: oh so those bullet holes in your hat are just the fashion these days
Underrated comment
I’ve played this game long enough to know that when Arthur does that hand gesture at 2:20 he’s going to draw his gun. If jack wasn’t there, this would’ve ended differently
If Jack wasn't there, this would've ended
I would’ve killed them and told Jack they were sleep
If Jack wasn't there, Arthur would have dropped the two of them right there
@@charliecallanan53 it’s all Jack’s fault that John died
If he was able to kill them without Jack being there then, 50 men would have came out of the tree line. The hunt would be all about killing all of the gang
I genuinely believe Milton when he told the camp to all leave and he’d just arrest Dutch. Especially when he told Cornwall “we’re doing everything we can within the confines of the law” shows he’s not a ego maniac like Ross turned out to be
He shot a defenseless unarmed man in public just to piss off a group of outlaws he was angry with. I'm preeeeeetty sure his banging on about the law is self serving bullshit. The fact that Hosea was an outlaw himself does not make Milton's summary execution legal. And that's just one of his sins.
@@samanthacino That's a pretty fair counterpoint.
@@randomcenturion7264 Fair counterpoint? Hosea is a murderer aswell. It is only fair he live and die by a gun. Not that I hate Hosea
@@juliagoetia That defenseless man was an outlaw that has been committing crimes for decades now, and considering the "trial" that colm O'driscoll got the only thing Milton did was change the execution method
He used a maxim gun on the place he was bullshitting the whole time
I love how Rockstar now uses lesser/unknown actors for their games now.
By this scene alone It shows you that everyone has the potential to become a famous well-talented actor. Hell Roger Clark won an award for his portrayal of Arthur.
Rockstar said it themselves that it’s better to have unknown actors who are excited for the opportunity than very famous actors who are just doing it for the money.
Yeah I think they of all people know that and like you said they have proven it. Look at Cyberpunk I dont think they Needed a big actor for that game. Or even with Farcry6 or Death stranding. With these voice actors you just see the chracters and not the actor.
That’s one of my favorite things rockstar does. Brings new faces
they only do that to save money, the greedy cunts.
Famous actors are just used as marketing. And I beleive Rockstar had a bad experience with Bert Renolds and since then choose to go with lesser known actors.
Mostly because they aren't as Diva. And most Rockstar games are self marketing
As much of a greedy company rockstar is, they’re one of the only big game companies giving lesser known or newer actors a chance to hit it big.
Right back at you Edgar, enjoy it while you still can...

We need a dlc where you play as Milton, to show his side of things. It would also be pretty cool to see how Micah and Milton’s interaction when micah became the mole.
I had respect for Milton because unlike Ross, he played fair. Yeah, he killed Hosea, but in all fairness, he gave them plenty of warnings to quit. Ross just used John and then shot him. Ross was power corrupted and power greedy. Milton wasnt at all. He just played by the rules and was doing his job. I never hated him like I did Ross.
Finally someone undertand him, yeah he warned all a lot, what a gentleman
LOL, the only difference between Milton and Ross is that Milton was never given the chance to show how much of a lying self serving snake he was, since nobody ever took him up on his offers. Aside from Micah of course, but Milton died before he had a chance to deal with Micah.
@@juliagoetia they never went after Micah which is probably due to Milton's orders that Micah cooperated and so was to be left alone.

Arthur was such a good uncle: admiring the necklace Jack made, the way he puts himself in between Jack and the agents, protectively puts his hands on Jack's head, Jack moves closer to him when he gets scared, the whole interaction between those 2 was just cute. Also, the loyalty in that man ran so deep; kept his cool till Milton started boasting about killing someone he was close to.

Foreshadowing for two games in two lines of dialogue.
I don’t think Milton and Ross had any idea on how much danger they was about to face at this moment, If it wasn’t for jack being there.
He knew it was so dangerous
Since Arthur got $5000 on his head
Be he is a chad like what he did in chapter 3 even more dangerous and he didnt event care

Wild East? LMAO 🤣
So the Weast then?
This Scene alone it’s better written & perform than 99% of Hollywood movied and actors
Such as?
I wish Milton was utilised more, I feel he could have been a very interesting part in Arthur’s redemption. Maybe Dutch kills him and Arthur strongly rejects it after seeing and listening to his family or something, that he was trying to make the world a better place but sometimes took it too far, that his parents were killed by criminals when he was in his teens or something similar.
this is the most memorable cutscene in the game for me.
Sadly Milton was right in the end
They all died savagely(except Arthur who died a little peaceful depending on your honor) Dutch committed suicide, John got shot to hell by the army, Javier got hanged and bill died as a hated man.
Oddly enough Milton has the right information, Dutch really is a charismatic sociopath especially in the later chapter but I’d argue it started in early 1899 just before black water
You can see Arthur about to pull his gun but realizes that jack is there and decides not to
Man agent Milton was a prick, but the person who played him did a fucking fantastic job
"YOU ENJOY BEING A RICH MAN'S TOY DO YOU?" I love the delivery of that line
Ross telling jack to enjoy his fishing might be peak irony in the Red Dead Redemption storyline. I love Rockstar's writing
Not really since Ross was duck hunting when Jack killed him
Arthur should’ve said “Dutch? Havent seen him since Blackwater, I thought y’all had already got em”

One of the best scenes in the game. There's so many good scenes in this game
2:18 I love the detail with Arthur's hand
He was ready to draw & shoot them both! If Jack wasn't there, things would've played out differently.
To be honest, this is the very cutscene that made me think "damn, rockstar going all out with the story and dialogues with this game".
People say Arthur didn’t draw because of jack, but shooting someone in the back is a sign of being a coward and no honor, I think it might be a mix of the two
Arthur said "Folks who need shooting I try and shoot in the back all that other stuff is well, Bunk".
You in enjoy being a rich man's toy do ya?!

Cool.
Arthur reaches for his gun while their backs are turned to mount up but gets interrupted by Jack asking who they are.
And jack meeting the guy who he will kill in his future
Put the C.R.A.S.H Theme from GTA SA over this and it will be perfect
Dude that's hilarious 😂
Milton is a good character
When Jack went to kill agent Milton. He was wearing his dads hat and a jacket identical to Arthur's jacket.
Agent Ross
When you remember Abigail killed Agent Milton and Jack Killed Ross….
It’s trippy to think that Ross made fun of a child who would ultimately end his life 15 years later.
I actually liked Milton just cause he was a reasonable Pinkerton. Ross is that mf who would pull you over for a broken headlight
Jack: "Who are they?"
Me: "Listen kid, the dude with a mustache is the one you're gonna kill in the future".
Everytime they had a chance to kill Milton and Ross Jack was fricking there
Red Dead would make such a great HBO series.
True
If Jack wasn't there Arthur would have killed them (you can see him reach for his gun before turning his head to Jack) would have robbed adult Jack of a final boss.
Arthur: I have done nothing wrong...
Milton: You are no Garrosh... Heh.
Arthur: Ha...ok I admit that was funny.

@@farisfaizzal9825 Exactly, but didn't because he looked at Jack and remembered he was there

the only complaint (story wise) I have with rdr2 is that they under-used milton's charecter
the voice acting in this game is the best.
For your information arthur was going to shoot them but the ln he remembered Jack was with him at that time
2:15 look at arthur's hand position and gun
Even if he wants to he’s probably not dumb enough to kill 2 government agents in the gangs current situation
I kind of want a legendary bounty mission in rdo where we get to try and capture the gang in blackwater during the ferry job, just so we can get more of a backstory on what happened.
Looking at Milton’s way of getting to the gang was very poor and costed a lot more lives as a result. Looking at this objectively and from a law enforcement standpoint, Milton is a very unorthodox detective that waits until things get so out of hand that by the time he and his colleagues try to apprehend the Van der Linda gang it’s already too late with hundreds of innocent people’s blood their hands (including some of their clients like Mr. Cornwall). Milton actually discovered their hideout at the beginning of the game very early into the BlackWater fiasco, but rather then creating a perimeter, or calling more re-enforcements to the area to attempt a capture of the entire gang, Milton goes into gang with rookie detective Ross, and tells them to leave before he starts sending people to come and stop them. Affectively giving the gang a hand start to forming a new camp off detective’s radar. Even if Milton was as corrupt as the US, their could have been so many ways of stopping the gang then to antagonize them even more. Milton was basically toying with Dutch and his gang and trying to show them how far they have fallen rather then actually stop them. When Milton was able to capture Hosea, he should have used him as ultimatum instead of killing him on the spot so things could escalate to a full on gun fight inside of Saint Denis. Milton did everything but create a plan to affectively capture the gang, they wouldn’t have needed to use Micha had they went after the gang with a no tolerance approach, but instead Milton kept toying, even till his death when instead of pulling the trigger to Arthur Morgan’s head, waited long enough so Ms. Abigail to shoot him in the face. Poetic i suppose.
Actually, the waiting game is a form of action that does NOT result in the other side using lots of resources/money for some things that shouldn't cost that much in the end.
You didn't like how the detective LET innocent lives getting taken away but this is because he did not want of his OWN MEN to suffer death.
In case you haven't noticed, but the attitude nowadays is to get things done while using less time, resources, & money. Milton is not trying to overextend himself. Its better to talk things out with the enemy instead of butting heads. If someone who has nothing to lose, dies, then the "winner" will end up having to clean himself and the areas.
Just saying, Milton isn’t really a bad guy he’s just doing his job
Lol. You made me laugh Preston Mayeux. Thanks
"Just doing his job" is not a valid excuse. We made that clear during the Nuremberg Trials.
I find it funny how he Milton says some of us will die sooner than others, implying Arthur was gonna be killed by Milton yet Milton died hours before Arthur
My favourite scene in the whole game, I love the foreshadowing; “oh we’re all gonna die agent,” “some of us sooner than others” while depicting only Arthur and Agent Milton with Ross and Jack off camera. Then obviously Ross telling jack to enjoy his fishing while he still can only to die to his hand years later in a similar circumstance. Oh fuck, I love this game
Arthur was ready to draw his gun and put them down but Jack interrupted him and Arthur wasn't gonna shoot them in front of him. At the time jack was only 4 years old
