Yes. Instead of yelling at them, demanding they stop crying..."or will give you something to cry about', parenting. All kids just want love and acceptance from parents. I learned by accident, when my kids were the worst,( I was stressed out from 40 hour job,) I just stopped, and gave them a HUG. SOME LOVE. The calmed right down. Works with older kids too.
Alicia is indeed a wonderful mother. I loved the laughter from dad, and mom. Laughter is such a calming tool for kids. It screams, "no big deal, guys". And it isn't. This is normal toddler behavior.
I know It's distressing for you, as loving parents, but that was precious to watch. Ana was so hurt to see Guin's anger. You both have an innate ability to de-fuse those situations, with gentle urging. You were meant to be parents.💓💓💓💓
I completely agree. If you watch the video closely Ana was patting Guin on the arm. Then Ana offered Guin a piece of egg. When Guin refused the egg and became upset, Ana said eat, and when Guin escalated the situation because they are so young and still learning, Ana tapped her on the head, not hit. But you could clearly see that Ana was upset and clearly retracted her arm and covered her face and started to cry. I think she was upset with herself. My heart went out to both of them because they are such sweet angels❤️ This is just the opinion of a 70 year old with a 42 year old son🥰
Ana was upset because Guin wouldn't take her gift of a bite of egg and then the crying starts...hurt feelings all around, life is sooo hard. Love these girlies.

And, I completely agree with the parenting skills. Distract with positive approach while simultaneously touching, huggin and kissing. All of it acknowledging their pain and loving them in their "darkest, unpredictable" hour. They made me cry.

Yes I have a obsession with Monkeys now! You are both very very good with these little sweeties!!! Maybe they were tired or not feeling well. They are always going to navigate their needs with their Sister needs and it will continue but you did the right thing to comfort each one. As a teacher we would always have to help children to not hit. The way I handled it was to ask the one who got hit to tell the hitter they didn't like that. Then l would have the hitter ask if there were anything they could do to make them feel better. This way they learn to solve the problem themselves. Of course this can be hard but important in conflict resolution that the one that was hurt stands up for herself and expresses her hurt. It gives the control back to her and she decides what will make her feel better. I have seen kids ask for water, a hug or a ouchy pack (a sponge that is wet put in a baggie then frozen. If then need this or an ice pack the child who hurt the other one has to hold it in place for the injured one. This makes them accountable and they will think about not hitting but using their words the next time.

Goodness this morning was a roller coaster lol. We laughed, we cried, we were happy and sad. I just love this little sweet family. My favorite part was Ana getting that yoke and taking a bite 😂.

Aww when Guin was crying, Ana was rubbing her arm! But when I saw tears streaming down Guin’s face, it was so sad poor little baby! Also, the fact that when Ana got mad and hit her sissy, it hurt her hand, and she started crying. They both have a lot of emotion for ones so young! You are a great mother, for hugging them and telling them it’s OK a lot of people just yell at their children and be strict with them, a lot of things that kids want is to be loved, and have a good relationship with their parents, and you’re exactly it! ❤❤❤ much love to your family! Tbh it’s a little funny, poor little babies! they are twin sisters, and even though they look alike, they are so different, but the fact they care so much about each other and try to make each other feel better and cry together it’s just so cute! Ana grabbed her hand back and immediately started crying. She felt bad. Guin was taken aback when it happened, but Alicia consoled them both and on they went their merry way.
Poor little Ana was just disappointed when Guin wouldn't eat what she fed her...their emotions are precious....they certainly love each other but siblings do squabble....lol ❤

I think Ana hit Guin out of anger and immediately knew she shouldn't have done it. They're now beginning to learn how to deal with their developing emotions and it will take some time. In the meanwhile, toddlers will be toddlers.
So wild today! Seeing Ana learning about the hurt of rejection 😢 And watching their communication overall today was a little bit of everything. Guin showing her long sentences now! They are such a bundle of sweetness and fun.
I loved it when Guin said "Oh ketchup" and then asked Dada to eat the ketchup off her finger. And Ana was comforting her when she was crying by patting her on the arm/back and offering her ketchupy egg. Then got mad and slapped her. Too funny. Priceless. Mama has a gift for redirection.

I went to a local restaurant where they had green eggs and ham. They mixed pesto into scrambled eggs, it was delicious although a little weird looking. Girls laughing with Dada was so sweet, then the drama with the ketchup and paper towels. Life with twin 2 year olds. Fun!! You handled it well. ❤❤
Today was a little of this and a little of that and a little of ? Watching them both cry made me want to cry. But we all know that there will be days like that. Moms and Dada did a good job. I had to laugh at the girls' squabble about Guin refusing her gift from Ana and I know exactly how Ana felt. My sister and I almost share the same birthday, 2 yr. and 1 day apart, and every time I give my sister a gift she tries to give it back to me!! It makes me feel like socking her sometimes, but at my age, I wouldn't get by with it very easily.
OMG Guin was absolutely adorable picking up the green egg & ham & opened her mouth so wide. Anna is very hesitant about eating the green eggs. They both like the ham. Boy they should sleep well, they are so wound up. Could it be because Dad is there? Anna trying to comfort Guin was so precious.
Their facial expressions are so adorable. When I was in nursery school we read the book Green Eggs and Ham and made them. 😊 You guys are such great parents. Thank you for sharing your precious babies with us ❤
When I was teaching prek, I read Green Eggs and Ham. The class cracked the eggs, added green food coloring, and they loved participating in the activity. Maybe when they get older, they can do the same. The girls are extra excited when dad is in the mix. God bless. 😊

When my 50 year old boys were little, we were reading Dr. Seuss books. One morning I decided to make green eggs and ham for them. Did I tell you I am dumb? Oh, yeah. I put green food coloring into the yellow eggs and wound up with blue eggs my boys refused to eat. Thanks for the memories and sharing your little charmers!

I think Ana hit Guin out of anger and immediately knew she shouldn't have done it. They're now beginning to learn how to deal with their developing emotions and it will take some time. In the meanwhile, toddlers will be toddlers.

So wild today! Seeing Ana learning about the hurt of rejection 😢 And watching their communication overall today was a little bit of everything. Guin showing her long sentences now! They are such a bundle of sweetness and fun.
I loved it when Guin said "Oh ketchup" and then asked Dada to eat the ketchup off her finger. And Ana was comforting her when she was crying by patting her on the arm/back and offering her ketchupy egg. Then got mad and slapped her. Too funny. Priceless. Mama has a gift for redirection.

I went to a local restaurant where they had green eggs and ham. They mixed pesto into scrambled eggs, it was delicious although a little weird looking. Girls laughing with Dada was so sweet, then the drama with the ketchup and paper towels. Life with twin 2 year olds. Fun!! You handled it well. ❤❤

I had to laugh at the girls' squabble about Guin refusing her gift from Ana and I know exactly how Ana felt. My sister and I almost share the same birthday, 2 yr. and 1 day apart, and every time I give my sister a gift she tries to give it back to me!! It makes me feel like socking her sometimes, but at my age, I wouldn't get by with it very easily.

OMG Guin was absolutely adorable picking up the green egg & ham & opened her mouth so wide. Anna is very hesitant about eating the green eggs. They both like the ham. Boy they should sleep well, they are so wound up. Could it be because Dad is there? Anna trying to comfort Guin was so precious.

When I was teaching prek, I read Green Eggs and Ham. The class cracked the eggs, added green food coloring, and they loved participating in the activity. Maybe when they get older, they can do the same. The girls are extra excited when dad is in the mix. God bless. 😊

Huge range of emotions and interactions. I think Anna thought she’d get into trouble for hitting gwen. I love the way she looks sternly at her sister. Gwens delight when she hugged the moon on dadas top was just delightful. I have to say I do prefer their hair natural!
@ellgee-fi8fc I think wearing those pony tails gave the twins' hair some nice body when they were taken out. I agree, their hair looked so pretty today and the color is so gorgeous! Although I hate to see the twins cry, when she went in to offer a comforting hug it gave us a nice chance to see Alicia's hair. The color turned out great, and it's so creative, too!

@@ellgee-fi8fc No worries...I was just making an observation. The twins hair is so baby fine, but I noticed that their hair looked a bit more fuller on top after their pony tails were removed. I was simply admiring it.

When my 50 year old boys were little, we were reading Dr. Seuss books. One morning I decided to make green eggs and ham for them. Did I tell you I am dumb? Oh, yeah. I put green food coloring into the yellow eggs and wound up with blue eggs my boys refused to eat. Thanks for the memories and sharing your little charmers!

I have twins. They just turned 27 3 days ago. When they would both cry at the same time like that, I would always say we not only got to hear crying, but we got it “in stereo”.😂 You do such a wonderful job with them.
