Very touching stories rick ,really took me back, thanks for posting causevi wasnt here last year thanks for putting out a video today, merry christmas rick and donetta, appriciate yall
Thank you Rick! One of the most touching videos I have ever seen. Yes it took me back to my childhood and I am now 68. Many similarities! Thank for sharing.❤
I greatly appreciate all your childhood Christmas memories Rick. I’m 83 and I too believe some of my best childhood memories are from the 1940,s and the early 1950,s and just like you Rick the best Christmas present I ever received was a BB gun. Right now as I,m sending you this comment I,m watching my favorite “The Christmas Story”, In the movie young Ralphie gets his Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas fulfilling his longtime Christmas wish. Perhaps you know the movie I,m talking about. I enjoy your videos, knowing how much work is involved producing firewood and editing the videos. Your a good man Rick and I keenly look forward to more viewing in 2025! Merry Christmas to you both. 😊
Great memories 😢I grew up on a dairy farm. Morning chores always came 1st before presents. One of the few times a year that mom didn't go to the barn because she was making the Christmas morning breakfast and started working on the Christmas dinner. As soon as morning chores were done (which were done at record speed), we cleaned up and had to sit down for breakfast. We knew better than to try and rush eating because we couldn't leave the table until everyone was finished- of which Dad always took his time. Once everyone was done eating we filed into the living room, which was closed off by a set of double doors up to that point. Like you, my parents were not rich but you'd never know it by the abundance. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I found out that mom started buying gifts in January as money became available and used every spare penny and G&H(green) stamp or what ever she could barter with. Mom and Dad have been gone 3 years now, they died 9 months apart- they say dad died of a broken heart, and Christmas hasn't been the same since.
