I’m missing the frequent videos, but when they pop up on youtube It’s definitely worth the wait. Your photos are extraordinary, unlike anyone else’s. Just so beautiful, and I love the way you share your settings. You are an amazing teacher, with an abundance of knowledge. Thank you so much for inspiring us all. Just amazing you are👍🏼
Helpful reminder on diagonals! I have a photo with a similar structure but thought it might be problematic without direct leading lines. I always liked it though because my eye circles back around thanks to some epic light that points back into the frame.
And the crew is saved from the incoming windstorm by Brendan the ambulance driver! That scene at Diamond Beach with all the chunks of ice looks incredibly epic!
Great video. I love Iceland, especially in the winter and despite the rough weather it always makes for some epic photographs. I don't think I could eve get tired of Vestrahorn whatever the conditions. Can't wait to go back.
My favs are the abstract ones! Really cool! Even though they don't show "where", it helps telling a story if paired with some other photos, making the story more powerful 😁 Also, it's 40ºC here in north PT and I'm seeing a snow video, it ALMOST helps my melting condition atm 😵💫 I wish I was in Lagos this week 🤣
What time of year was this? Looks like just the right time to find some ice but also unfrozen water too. Also that ice at 6:25 probably would have made a great close-up abstract.
Excellent shots and thought process behind the intention to change your photo compositions away from leading lines. Always appreciate learning more about Iceland and the beauty of its landscape. Need to make it back there soon. Those winds though! Was it as bad as predicted?
If Jodie and Nellie got together and shared notes, who would be identified as the bigger kid!!! Just love when you and Greg work together. So when will you two do a Canadian tour??
Great vlog as always! Keep it up as I adore you, your narrative and style of photography! Just a curiosity. How can you use a L-bracket (Arca-swiss compatible I suppose) with a Peak Design Capture clip on your backpack?
You claim to be a Canadian? Didn't break out a hockey game on the ice? That my friend is how you get your passport revoked. Great video, makes me want to grab my camera and jump the next Iceland Air light to Riencjavik
@@nrice3623 Interesting. We definitely didn't see signs in the winter. And I messaged an Icelandic friend who is a ranger who said that diamond beach is actually outside the park (because it's on the sea) and the park ends at the road. I'm not saying it's right, just what he said.

Fantastic Brendan!! You captured some beautiful images indeed!
Thank you Phil!
Iceland is the gift that keeps on giving.
That it is. Photographing it never gets old
Some nice images Brendan, love the close up ice ones

I’ve seen a lot of Icelandic photography but some of these are really unique. Great work!
Nice to see you still doing this

Yeah, the Vestrahorn area always delivers awesome images. Would love to get northern lights there some day

Looks like an amazing few days, that first panorama was spectacular, and the ice on the black sand is amazing. :)
Thanks Jason!

Great photos. It's good to see such good conditions
Thanks man!
Would love to go to Iceland, absolutely loved that last daylight small dune shot but those moody shots were definitely awesome
Thanks Brian, glad you liked the images.
The Vestrahorn with sand structures foreground pics are pretty nice and original 👌
Thanks buddy, I'm pretty happy with them. Hope all is well!
@@BrendanvanSon Sure. In the middle of editing the Peru movie :-D

Love the images you were able to captured during this part of the Iceland Trip, nice touch with the Antarctic Jacket, yeah I'm jealous 👍😎
I was just showing off haha

3 Legged thing makes an L-Bracket that has a peak design clip on the bottom of it.
Love the diamond beach images.
Thanks! Glad that you liked them :D
Great stuff Brendan, very enjoyable episode and killer shots 👍
Wow, what a loaded video. Pics galore and a host of superlatives for this effort.
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :D
I like following your world wide travel adventures, Brendan. Do you still live in Portugal when you're not traveling?
Yup, I'm down here in the south of Portugal.
As always, great images…epic adventure!
Booked my first trip to Iceland in Oct 2023 so great taster Brendan

Ohhh...10:23 ...just stunning Brendan 👌 🌟
Thanks!
What no picture of the amazing "Bowl Shaped Object " buried in the beach 😂😂😂
The sink haha. I looked for images of it, but I think only you guys photographed it. lol
Iceland is not an easy place to photograph, except few places!😊
Really good Images.
Thank you Michael

14:28 by the way, drones aren’t permitted at Diamond Beach!
Sorry, I genuinely enjoyed the video except for that, and had to comment.
They aren't allowed at the glacial lagoon. There are no signa at the beach (unless that's changed since this was filmed).
There is signage in the parking lots. It is within the boundaries of Vatnajökull National Park (see maps on the park website). :)
