- Finally have the high exhaust I'be been waiting for. The Mivv Dakar High Exhaust. In this video I make an unboxing, installation and sound test. Plus some reflections and personal thoughts.

the look and the sound. one of the best choice i have made.
Why did you go for the HP? Just design? Did you have to change anything related to it?
Have had the same exhaust for the better part of the year now and I have to say I'm really pleased with it sound wise. Haven't had any damages to it after dropping the bike on the right side so that's a plus!

Nice mod, Robert! I changed also from the Storm to the high HP, but mainly for „narrowing reasons“😁 Liked the Storm and especially its decent sound a lot, but the high exhaust, as you already said, has many advantages. Enjoy your ride!🤘

Har själv funderingar att inskaffa denna MEN.
Den enda oron för den här modifieringen är det stora aluminiumfästet som fäster ljuddämparen på undersidan av cykeln, eftersom aluminium tröttnar/mattas och så småningom spricker skulle det föredra om det var plåt istället.
Tackar. Ja den delen känns lite känslig. Men jag ska köra hårt med den och se om/när den tröttnar. Sen får Seymor bocka till en redig plåt som han brukar göra när mitt går sönder.
sounds good, looks good. just worry if you lay the bike down with the saddle bags.. might cause a burn. might still run a heat shield on some trips.
Pavlin just got one as well. Like my HP Corse it goes behind the footage mount and isn't exposed to damage during a fall. So automatic guy.
this is i think the best muffler for T7
Congrats on the new pipe. You want to check the rearbreakline guard on the swing arm if they hit your exaustpipe. I have the HP Corse high mount and had to bend one of the guards due it hitting the pipe when used the suspension for real. Some choose to remove the guard and use zip-ties others do as i have and just use the wooden handle on a hammer and bend it down a little.

Actually i had that thought. I think so yes, if you managed to make a mount to the Storm to the bracket that holds the Dakar.

I have the Camel Enduro pipe and I love it. One thing I noticed with the Enduro bend pipes - right where the "bendy" part is gets super hot and will melt your pants (I melted my Klim pants a small bit after I installed it) easily resolved by adding a small carbon heat shield at the bend.

I mounted mine two years ago with no problems since. Well, except for the indicator I grilled , because I used the original License plate mount first.😂

What tail tidy are you running? I fitted my MIVV exhaust yesterday (after seeing it in this video) but with the B&B tail tidy I have there is an interference fit between exhaust and indicator.
It’s home made but used the tidy from t7rally.com as template

Got mine when they were released. A couple areas could have been finished off better but overall not bad. Ticks all the boxes in function and with the db killer in gives a nice audio track to the rider without being completely obnoxious to everyone else.
My one gripe is that they should sell it as a complete package with the heel guard. Selling it as a seperate bit (65-70 USD) when it's such a necessary thing as your heel is so close rubs me the wrong way.

1) what sadle bags are you using?
2) do you put something between exhaust & saddle bag so it would not get "burned", or they dont touch each other?
I use Enduristan Blizzard Large. I dont need any shield for those
My son just pick this up. Here in the USA it was $480 plus shipping and tax from a distributor. So all in it was $502

The rear bracket looks a little flimsy. Have been looking at this myself. But I'm not so sure about that rear bracket now. Give us an update on how it's holding up.
Good video! Im consider this exhaust. But i am worried about the pipe and muffler hitting the swing arm when the suspension is compressed. Have you had any issues with this?

Not that your old muffler had a bad sound, but I have to say... the high mount exhaust looks really nice on these bikes. 👏🏻 The sound is not that much higher with the dB killer out, it just lower and more greeeeeat 😂 Perfect upgrade to your spagetti wagon... what's next? 🤌🏻😂 Cheers

I'm thinking of getting the Mivv Dakar for my Tenere Extreme due in June 24, what tail tidy have you got fitted.

Thanks. The AS rack is unfortunately not compatible. I could make it work with some small metal work though.

Wonder if you can wrap exhaust with heat wrap for pipe or exhaust on this set up
I have now wrapped the pipe with exhaust bandage wrap. The sharp bend close to the footpeg melted my plastic boots :) There is a shield you can buy but the wrap works and was cheaper.
Time to design a heat shield that connects to the old exhaust mount. Something to cover it up and make good use at the same time.
Hi which tail tidy kit do you have? I heard it won't fit with the original Yamaha tail tidy kit..

I have it with the original yamaha tail tidy and it's OK. Not far from the blinkers but they won't melt.

How do you judge the sound of the MIVV Dakar compared to the Storm.
Is it significantly louder than the Storm or are they about equal ?
Just asking because I think about swapping from Storm, who has a nice and decent sound, to the MIVV Dakar too.
The Mivv is louder and perhaps just a little bit too loud for me. But i like lower sounds. Some like loud

From the german T7 board I know, MIVV offers a dB Eater, which is a bit more silent than the stock Eater of the Dakar can.
(reduction of about 2 dB according to MIVVs official information)
According to the shop's personnel it's the Eater with PartNo. 50.DK.181.0
It isn't originally designed for this very exhaust but it fits in.
Before placing my order I wanted to find out, if I would need it or not.
Your answer made this decision easy.
As I prefer it more on the silent side, when I ride in nature, I added the dB Eater to the bill.
The perception of sound is a topic, which is very individual.
But the german guys, who installed the eater, said that it brings down the noise level somewhere near the Yamaha stock pipe.
Some of them where disappointed and swapped back to the Dakar stock Eater because of this reason.

In case the shop will stick to the named delivery date, I will receive the pipe in about two weeks.
In case, I don't forget, I then will report back about my personal impression. 😉
Something which should be obvious:
Due to the narrowed diameter of the "custom" Eater, the engine will "breathe" a little less.
This might result in some slight loss of power.
The german guys discussed this and said it isn't noticeable.
Personally I don't care, because for offroad use the T7 has enough grunt anyway.

Sorry, I haven't had a passenger. I guess it would not be bad if you're ride carefully. It's only when you ride agressive that she starts roaring

looks like you might hit it if you go over a bump since its hanging over the tire a lil. I just got the camel enduro bend exhaust with the ceramic black scorpion slip, just arrived today still gotta instal. Mivv sounds great though

Robert...thanks for the video...I installed the MIVV Dakar earlier this year & was provided the gen 1 straighter bend mid-pipe, (which is still displayed on their webpage)...you have the redesigned gen 2 that we surmise is suppose to address clearance issues with the swingarm throughout it's entire range of travel & the swingarm in the static position...my mid-pipe made contact with the swingarm at 165mm of travel & required modifications to achieve the full 200 mm of travel....based on other pics & your video of the gen 2 mid-pipe there still appears to be well under the 20 mm clearance quoted as the minimum in the MIVV documentation at the 1st upward bend next to the swingarm ...would you mind checking the clearance with the swingarm over the full range of travel with the new mid-pipe...TIA :)

Yep, 140 width is no problem on std rims. And cheap 👍🏻
@@NomadSweden that’s good to know. I thought the 140 would be too narrow. I use them on my 701.
@@TheSpragz The profile of the tyre is a little bit flatter on the wider rim, but not so much it makes any difference. I know many riders who use 140 on the standard, so go head :)
Checkout the OS-FOOTREST ELIMINATOR YAMAHA T7 if you want get rid of passanger footpegs and keep the possibility to tie some luggage... and loose weight as well.

As inconvenient as it is, I still prefer the low exhaust. I wish they just made the holder replacable so we can fall on it indefinetly.

Did you know Storm exhaust are actually Mivv's ? They are the same brand. But I don't quite understand the price difference as it seems they are very similar (the Storm and the Dakar)

Som vanligt bra video, bra tanke med att kunna köra med lågt ljud för att inte störa och skrämma. Sedan sitter det snyggt på hojen.
Ser riktigt bra ut, mycket bättre än originalet!
Den snyggaste högpipa-installation jag sett hittils men en offroad ska ha pipan i mitten. Det står i bland annat Bibeln nya test 7:13 samt Nationalencyklopedin under bokstaven P som i Pipa.

That outside mount on the pipe doesn't look good :-( T700 drivers if you don't have guarantee anymore simply cut that part of frame and make a nice new mount.
Old mount is not used for mounting the exhaust and it can be removed without making something new

I see all motorbike adventurers talking about weight. Why would you spend 400 euros to save 2 kg? I just can't figure how that is making a difference. It's like have 2L more or less in the fuel tank. You will easily gain that weight with the difference in wearing 2 or 4 underpants haha
