      @@jakelaw9768 I don't think giving out green cards would help. All it would result in is a lot of people fleeing to the US. These people are the catalysts for change in Hong Kong and need to stay fighting for what they believe in. If they leave, you are just handing Hong Kong to China on a plate and have a lot of people in the US who don't want to be there.

      Another attempt to smear the image of the Chinese government otherwise why published it as well as no attempt to blur the images. The secret pipeline leads to the US embassy in Hong Kong. It's a foregone conclusion. More violence will happen, a tactic to provoke the the Chinese government to order in their PLA so people like Pelosi can pressure the congress to enact some more laws to destabilize China.

      Here’s the logic. NYT doesn’t care whether these young ppl are safe or not, they are only interested in propaganda and their own political or financial interest. If these kids just escape, there’s no value, so they just publish this to tell their own story. Arent we suppose to discuss whether these young ppl are actually innocent, what charges is or isn’t legit if they are in other countries? Freedom is not free from charges for criminals.

      I'm sure NYT has internal measures when it comes to reporting sensitive issues to make sure that none of the people involved are harmed in any way be it the protestors in the vid or the reporters themselves. China can't touch them as much as they can't touch China and what I mean by that is China is powerful enough (and knows they are powerful enough) that things like protestors fleeing HK isn't something for them to worry about. That's why there is little to no progress despite all the pressure from HK protests. HK/China puppets will not give in to any pressure because it's very easy for them to stifle any progress.

    • @MrBigbird007
      @MrBigbird007 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m fairly certain that the government knows more about this than the public. Just like when a video of how to protect you valuables is posted up... the thieves know 10x more than the person making the video (unless that person is a professional thief that is).
      Anything shown here would not amount to new insight for a government trying to piece together “where is everyone going?!”
      The only informing is really to the public and what these kids are going through.

    • @LaRhondaTurner
      @LaRhondaTurner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Maybe that's true. Maybe it isn't. If I were the one using this route to escape, I certainly wouldn't want a video put out about it. There may be subtle things in that video that show things or be that final missing piece that a government needed to shut the whole thing down. Since we don't know what they know, it's best for the safety of all involved to not show it.

    • @disconnectxd7344

      @@LaRhondaTurner Shifting public opinion and informing your peers is very important, protesters know this better than anyone else. It's not like the NYT did not warn them, I'm sure these brave people did this with the full knowledge of the risks involved.
      And about the government not knowing about this, are we talking about the same China that disappears journalists and librarians, that has already implemented a nation wide Orwellian tracking system that totally controls and imprisons millions? Of course they knew about it, they have more forced informants and spies than the entire population of Hong Kong....

Seems along with this story, some civilians have also been fleeing due to the violence of some of the rioters, especially due to stories of some protestors setting a man on fire, beating up a Japanese man because they thought he was Han Chinese, and knocking a man out with a manhole cover.
