You would definitely have thought that with all the components of that lock it would put up one hell of a fight, still a pretty cool lock, great video picked it & disassembling it Tony. Have a great day
That's a fantastic video Tony. Bit of an own goal by Abus and I think Gazz is spot on - it's far more complex than it needs to be to achieve its designers aims. I really like your speed bump technique for looking for the binder and pretty clearly what you're actually doing is raking the sliders with the back of the pick at the same time. I think this lock really goes to show how much more secure against picking and snapping Abus could have made this thing just with a little extra thought.
Just now I finish to pick that Abus . Thanks 👍. Your excellent work with sliders very very help me now. I have one question to you...! After picking you can to escape your tool i see . That moment not make you problem ?! I can't to out tool. 5th low / 4 hi pins stop it . (?) Maybe you can to say something about it... Thx
Yeah - the tool can very often get stuck in the lock, and it is hard to get out until you close the core again. Use a flat pick like a hook to press the keypins to help release the tool.
The 4000 should be upwards of 100€ in most European countries, but if you get them straight from the factory ( good ebay.de seller) then it can come down to 60ish.
That's a master class on dimple picking mate. Great opening! I'd have been whooping with joy! How do these rate in difficulty against the MTL Garrison? Ive managed to pick one of those
I have a few boxes of dimples out on loan at the moment - Merlin has one, Smurf has another, if you fancy a go, just let me know. If you want to try a Bravus, I have a whole box full now - I cut them all in half, so I now have 8 !!!!

Nicely done. That's a great concept, but I agree with Gazz and Michael that they almost tried too hard and missed the mark.
