    I use this as my commuter and love it. Literally just took it up to 606m elevation and it was a serious slog. My mates were on 6kg carbon fibre and spent half the day waiting for me to catch up. I don't know if it's me or if this bike just isn't made to go up steep hill rides.

      I had a similar experience on an old Marin Muirewoods I had converted to be quite similar to the Nicasio+. When I rode alone (using it as a gravel bike) I never felt the bike was slow but once I joined a couple friends on their ultra light road bikes I realized how much quicker they were... so I stopped riding with people because I loved the bike ;)

    Great rundown! I bought this bike last year and have been loving it. I'm just wondering what has changed since the 2019 model. I paid under 9 hundo for mine. +350 seems like there are major upgrades? AdventX? Different rims?

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. Yes, the big changes were the 650+ wheel/tire combo and the AdventX 1x drivetrain with the wide range cassette.

    Good evening.
    There is a video by a Russian blogger showing that this bike is very badly tuned from the factory and needs to be refined in the workshop. Namely - poorly lubricated bushings and steering, the carriage is very heavily lubricated due to which a lot of dirt sticks there, trimming is needed in order for the brake pads to stand straight and the rear cock is crooked. Is it so? Or is it a feature of the budget Marin models? I apologize for my English - I translate from google translator.

    • @BikeBrosBikeShop
      @BikeBrosBikeShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, we haven't noticed these issues. As part of our usual assembly we actually take the bike apart to adjust bearings, check wheel tension and true, straighten derailleur hanger etc. No matter which brand of bikes we feel this is necessary to make sure the bike works properly and will be as trouble free for the customer as possible. Thanks for watching!

      Realistically if these tires are a real problem in winter conditions then it may be time for mountain bike types of tread or studded tires ( and low tire pressure)... winter in different regions can be so different that I struggle to give good advice.

    It seems to be a CRIME for reviewers to divulge the number of cogs on the crank. We can guess by the appearance, but this number is IMPORTANT! Also, what is the length of the chain stays? And the weight? These are three issues that affect climbing behavior of the bike.

    Hi! I bought the 2023 Nicasio+ tan color last summer and it's riding great. I prefer riding this bike than my 2018 Specialized Allez, even if it's a little bit heavier. But.... There is already a scratch on the frame because I was reat ended on the bike path. No touch up paint is available for this color. I haven't found any nail polish to match the color. Even Napa auto parts cannot scan the color on my bike. Can you help? Thanks.

      @@zerog4261 I have to admit that the frame of the Nicasio+ is shorter than the Allez... My left foot while hit the brake components once in a while if I am not careful. Where do you live ( country)? You may want to contact your local dealer to be put on a call list. This is a crazy time for retailers and consumers. Retailers have been forced to try to foresee what they will need for next season and make orders ( our Marin order for 2021 bikes was made in June). In turn, consumers have been putting deposits on bikes that are months away from arriving to secure the bike they want.

      Thanks for watching. The bike model shouldn't affect whether you can fit a seat bag. That is basically limited by your seat height and wheel size - so if anything, having 650+ wheels gives you a little more room than if this had 700c wheels.
