The Horizon 500 only has 1 drive roller. It is like a key way and must be lined up in the groove. If they are not lined up you will not be able to properly seat the gypsy to get the clutch cone on and it will freespin

I appreciate the video , hopefully it will solve my problem, the same issue you had , goes up but not down. Question- I got the gear off and indeed it looks like the small gear is stuck preventing it to spin freely. How did you break it free ? pliers ,vise grips etc? thank you ?

I relieved the tension off of the system by first pulling the pin on the rode. I could then manually rock the gear to get the cam free. It would then work in both directions. After that I heavy greased the cam and bearings. When pulling the anchor, try not to pull the anchor all the way into the block on high speed that way it doesn't jam the cam preventing it from releasing

I'm not clear which part you are referring to. Did you remove the gypsy and can't get it back on?

@@adambunchuk5325 Adam, thanks for the response… I finally got the gypsy drive cap off with lots of difficulty. Then I had to use a gear puller to take off the gypsy…I heated it with a blow torch, got the washer off, then finally was able to get the gypsy off. I scrubbed it all with wire brush, applied grease to everything, then put it all back together. Now my problem is that I can’t get the gypsy drive cap down tight enough against the gypsy to stop it from free spinning. When the motor turns, the gypsy turns, but stops with pressure from my finger. When I try to tighten the drive cap down against the gypsy, the gears inside turn and don’t allow me to tighten it enough. What do you recommend? Thanks again.

@@adambunchuk5325 OK, I opened up the top of my winldess again, I took off the gypsy, and I cleaned all the grease off the drive cap, gypsy and the shaft. I noticed on the gypsy there are three little inserts around the shaft hole. I believe these may provide grip on the drive cap when it is tightened down. I put it all back together, and I put a nylon washer on top of the gypsy washer. Then I tightened everything down and seem to have solved the problem. I won’t know for sure until I install the chain and see if it will indeed grip enough to pull up the chain. I am convinced now that all the Grease I put on it was actually causing it to slip and not grip well enough on the drive cap to ever pull up the chain. I believe if you want the chain to freefall, You turn the drive cap counterclockwise 90° per the instructions and that raises the drive cap off those little inserts around the gypsy shaft hole and allows the gypsy to spin freely. I would think that eventually those three little inserts on the gypsy would wear down eventually preventing the drive cap to grip on the gypsy as you tighten it down. I’m not sure of course but that is what I’m surmising after all this adventure. I would appreciate any comments you might have. Thanks

Did you have problems with your clutch bearing? My gears seized and I think it fried my bearing.

No, my bearings are still intact. Which gears are seized? Thats what i thought happened but wasn't the case.
