When Azzi thanked the interviewer for the compliment it made me think of what I observe often of these kids. They are so polite, kind, know how to be professional. It speaks volumes of loving supportive parents, a two parent family, stellar parenting. Kudos.
As always, our players are impressive off the court as well. Ash seems like an absolute bulldog on the court & a sweetheart off. UCONN fans I know haven't been this excited since the post-Stewie 2016-'17 win streak season. Grateful & praying for sustained health during the '23-'24 campaign. If so, once we jell, could easily see this group become unstoppable.
I hope I'm not getting ahead of myself with this assessment. But Shade's shot is absolutely quick and deadly. Like Paige and Azzi she gets a sliver of a window the shot is made. She makes her own shot. So sad about Azzi, but if Shade keeps shooting as Geno has told her too and her teammates tell her too, she could very well, do I dare say it, make up considerably for the loss of Azzi and Caroline. Geno said this was her strength in high school. Scoring.
