None of these young, self-absorbed hosts can ever measure up to Chuck Woolery. RIP, Chuck. 😢❤ (Yeah, I know he wasn't the host on this particular show.)
I never thought I’d ever see this again - had only seen it once when it aired in late ‘87; was being shown at the high school we all went to. Unfortunately and sadly, Matt suddenly passed away just a few weeks ago (11/28/2021). We’re missing you so much, Matt…RIP…what a wonderful gift to see you like this again!
In 1989 I was 20 years old. These shows were very entertaining. Notice they said, “Dating Game Chaperone” so they did not leave the country alone with their date.
Ugh i totally forgot about shoulder pads! I went shopping with my mom yesterday at the mall i swear all the dumb stages of mostly the late 80s early 90s with the above hip sweaters jeans that were over the stomach, but the bottom legs were skinny, big ear rings.best look were jeans with designs and glitter '99-'05.i shopped in the teenage section with my daughter being short and both skinny plus the jeans were actually cheaper in the girls section compared to womens.as my daughter grew she was able to wear my clothes 😆
Back in the day, the dates went on trips like this. GSN's Baggage with Jerry Springer from about 10 years old gave their dating couples nights on the town in the LA area.
@@zachhoran If I remember correctly, on Love Connection, they just sent the couples to a restaurant to get to know each other. Guadalajara's not a date. That's a honeymoon.
@@MrCityslickerktm Love Connection gave the couple $75 or $100 to help pay for date expenses, but IIRC didn't pick the place the date would be held at. Uusally the dates went to lunch or dinner among their activities.

So sad to realize, Dawn. Appreciate your letting us know. Do you have an obituary link you can post?
I worked with Matt back in the 90’s, he was a great guy and very talented. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
@@jwc52245 Sadly I do not - and I've looked everywhere...
@@prizzyhoney It sure shocked the hell out of everybody! ☹️
@@dawnwelch6579 I remember when he brought this tape into my office, we laughed so hard.

International travel for a first date: That's risky, haha.
It's all for show. Most winners were never awarded with their promised date.
The host and the contestant look like brothers.

The movie NUts opened on 12/11/1987, so this is from 12/11/1987 or later, or could be an Xmastime rerun of earlier in the season.
Orrr it was advertising for the “coming soon to a theater near you” film as they’ve done for decades maybe.
@@fezzik7619 I was trying to place an approximate airdate on this episode based on the commercials.
No. 3 looks like Edward scissors
Who had the highest hair?
Who takes a stranger to Guadalajara for a date? For four days, no less.
