  • This is a sketchcast on www.lumbertalk.com covering the basic components and installation of a small vinyl bulkhead. This is a very standard way vinyl bulkheads are installed.

We put bulkheads in here. About 48" off the mud line. We use 12' panels. 14' pylons 6"x6" - 80" on center. The dead mean are 12' long and usualy 10"x10". Two whalers 3"x10" and one back board 2x4 &2x8 together. Usually 21' 1/2" tie rods every pylon and center.

I am being quoted on a reverse Navy Bulkhead but am not getting a good explanation. Any hints?

Hi Chris thank you for an informative video. My question to you is what type of material should the back fill consist of? I live in Long Island New York on a cana.l We just recently purchased the house and there is a new bulkhead face on but the earth behind it is missing. What I understand it should consist of Rocky sand.
